Hi, I'm running SenselessROM 2.9.5 based on 2.08.651.2. Yeah I know I'm 2 stock updates behind which is why I have a few questions before I update to a new ROM.
I have HBOOT 1.5 and unlocked using HTC's method. I was wondering if updating to a new ROM was as easy as flashing the .zip in recovery and the kernel img using Image Flash GUI.
Would it be better to flash a stock 2.17.651.5 ROM and then root/unlock/flash?
I think you also need to update your firmware and radio with a zip file from Freeza called his all in one (you can search for it in the dev forum)
I don't know much about 1.5 as I have 1.4 and we would put the file on the root of the sd card and then boot to bootloader and let it update. This would bring you up to date and then you could flash whatever you wanted.
Good Luck
I have some Hboot 1.50 notes in my signature that may help you.
If u flash the new update to get the radio, you have to use roms/kernels based off the update, you can't use ones from prior radio baseband, and you have to relock the bootloader first & flash the full oem Ruu.
Right now you can use 651.2 & 651.3 based roms/kernels but not 651.5 ones.

Ah okay, just to confirm so I don't waste my time... The only way to use 2.17.651.5 based ROMs and Kernels is to flash the latest RUU and then unlock using HTC's method?
Edit: Yup, found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21363331&postcount=49
Thanks guys
But currently u can't downgrade the radio or use any roms/kernels from previous bases.
CleanRom Reborn 1.1 is very good.

downloading not working of x8gesture.ko
In that case, there are a few froyo-based roms (srom-froyo, froyobread) that include this particular module, don't know if those links are still working, try to search the x10mini development forum to find them

Do they require unlocking of bootloader .Actually I am afraid of this purpose. Is there any GB rom that can be flashed without unlocking bootloader on stock kernel 2.6.29 Thanks for Help.
You only need to unlock your bootloader if you need a custom kernel.
All the froyo roms run on the stock kernel, so they can be installed without unlocking the bootloader.
GB roms all run on a custom kernel (on the x10Mini), so you need to unlock the bootloader for that.
If you get S1Tool and post the output, i could probably provide you with some guidance on the safety of unlocking

Yeah !! in the output It shows SEMC something with capital R . Actually date is 10w29. Flashtool is big file and I have a slow connection... Smthng else for unlocking bootloader
it should say semc-simlock certificate, and 10w29 is ok too. you can get the manual scripts for unlocking the bootloader in a slightly smaller package, but the point about unlocking the bootloader is to install a custom kernel... you will need flashtool for that... lol.
I would say, try one of the froyo roms if they're still available, i'm pretty sure froyobread with the hotfix can be downloaded and they can be installed on the stock kernel. but then, those are big downloads too on a slow connection

You're welcome
Array. I've unlocked the bootloader and I have xrecovery on my phone. I also have put GB miniCM rom as update.zip on SD card
Now the problem is on GB thread it said that I should have naA kernel on my phone and on naA kernel thread it said that I should have GB custom rom. I have only unlocked the bootloader and still on stock rom and stock kernel.,
once again its ur turn to sort me out of this problem...
:-D
First you flash the nAa kernel using flashtool
Then flash the rom through cwm
Sent from my E10i using xda premium
Bro I have gone one step ahead and have installed cloclwordmod .. now I am flashing the naA kernel... But what after flashing the kernel if I start my phone do I have to first enter in CWM and flash new minicm7 rom or I can use this kernel on my stock rom 2.1
Go into CWM and install MiniCM, stock will not boot on the nAa kernel.

guys i want to know that if i had unlocked my BL properly or not. I have sony xperia GB 2.3.7 , i thought i had unlocked my bootloader and rooted my phone installed CMW, and first Installed official ICS through CMW, after that i had lost my CMW and Root. So i checked xda forum and I rooted the device again and installed CMW again and again once i installed ICS Pure Blood Rom V1, and now again my Root and CMW is gone, i have rooted my device once again but i haven't installed CMW, is it true that my BL is not unlocked and CMW and Root Gone by installing Custom Firmware? because i had read somewhare in Pure blood rom v1 forum that if the BL is not Unlocked then after installing Pure Blood Rom v1, the CMW will be gone? is it true? if then how to know that my BootLoader is unlocked or not? I have to test more roms but after installing the ROM every CMW will be gone and again i have to install it. Suggest me my frendz....

In the call number type *#*#7378423#*#* then service info then configuration see rooting status at the bottom and if it say bootloader unlock allowed:yes, it mean your bl is locked but if it shows bootloader unlocked:yes, it mean your bl is unlocked!

the other thing need to notice is recovery.
I used to install recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-t6ul.img and install Kernel, but some function didn't work.
Then I update recovery to 6.0.5.0, install Kernel again, then everything work fine.
FYI
ok i never used clockwork i allways used twrp on latest verison now
but what the heck ill try clockwork
next time i try a flash --Thanks
Hey guys,
Im new to HTC One. I have Tmobile version running on stock sense 6. I wanted to install a custom stock rom without the Tmobile Bloatware.
I know how to unlock the bootloader using HTC Dev method and install recovery to root. But i am a bit confused about S-Off. I have read that S-off will not work with Hboot 1.57.0000
So my questions are
1. Do i really have to S-off to install custom roms on HTC?
2. If not can i install ROMs for the int. version on my phone ?
3. Does the CID ver/number have anything to do with unlocking and rooting?
Thanks in advance.

3. Does the CID ver/number have anything to do with unlocking and rooting? No, flashing firmware and RUU are dependent on CID.
Thanks in advance.

See answers above. Just keep in mind that WiFi calling is not generally supported in the present custom roms. Make a nandroid backup of your system and save to your computer for safe keeping should you need to go back. Stuff happens!!!

Thank you for the reply. I have successfully rooted my stock rom and installed CWM recovery. And i have flashed custom kernel too.
I would now like to flash a 4.4.3 sense custom rom. I have read on some threads that the kernel wont be flashed on S-on devices. So do i have to flash a custom rom always after flashing a custom rom?
And one more thing. I currently have CWM touch recovery. I have seen lot of roms require TWRP. So my question is does the recovery image depend on the HTC variant? I have a Tmobile M7UL

It all depends on the custom rom but most have options to keep the stock kernel or chose a custom kernel in Aroma. It should explain in the OP what they are providing. As far as TWRP vs CWM, the developer will test his rom on the one that works best for him so he/she will recommend the custom recovery that doesn't cause him issues. Yes, there are specific custom recoveries for the different variants because the partition tables are different.
