You cant restore the CM7 system apps to devoid final. You can restore the apps/games that you downloaded to the devoid final though titanium backup. Just dont restore apps like google maps/talk/ etc which comes preinstalled.
PS: hows the devoid final rom ?
That's right, Use Titanium Backup. I haven't flashed void.final yet because of all the hassle of restoring apps and data.
Firs things first... use Titanium Backup or something similar along with you nand backups. This should make restoring apps easy. Run the backup batch and then the restore batch on the new rom. I do not recommend restoring system data, it may cause faults in the system, especially when going from 2.2 to 2.3 and back.
So, man, restore the nand backup of your CM7, use Titanium Backup batch, re-flash your void.final and then restore the Titanium Backups. That should do it. This procedure is a must if you want to test custom roms, or just flash often.
Cheers!

Mate, better get used to Titanium Backup, it's a life saver if you like modding.
Word of advice: update your backups, and (this is an important one) backup (copy on HDD) your Titanium backups (you can find them on /sdcard/TitaniumBackup/)!

Yeah. Getting Pro with better scheduling (plus Dropbox sync) is worth it, IMHO. Also, the backups are much faster with Pro.

Ah, you mean SMS/MMS... Well, dunno about Titanium. I am backing them up via GO SMS Pro; never liked the stock messaging app really. It can do scheduled backups (binary/XML, full/incremental) and even send the backups to your email.
i will try SMS Backup and Restore from market. if it does not work, i'll try yours! thanks for ur time man and all of u there who shared his time answering my questions!
hey, before I update my xperia x10 to 2.3., I would like to know if I backup now on 2.1. with the free version of titanium backup (not buying the pro) my games + data will I be able to restore them later when I'm on 2.3.? Can I backup data with the free version at all?
OR, I can also do this with Backup and Restore program? I have B&R on my x10 (of course) and I backed everything up, then when I update to 2.3. and download that B&R for 2.3. will it restore the game data too? I don't wanna lose my progress, espcially angry birds :/
Thanks
i think u wont get B& R for 2.3 ..m not sure on this ..ya but u can backup your app using Titanium Backup !!and regarding data m not sure using Titanium Backup !!
Hope it works !!
Thank me if it clears u a bit !!
Edit:
It works bro it will backup eveyrthin ur app and the data ...,so u can go ahead with TB
Go ahead - that's how I keep my Angry Birds (all 3 versions) and a few other games going through all these ROM updates, custom ROM tests, etc...
I think I only had a problem once when I used Apps2SD or something like that. If you have never moved anything to your SD Card you are good.

there is a link on the xda forums for a 2.3. version of it, I am not aware of who developed it though, do you think it would be able to restore game saves? I'll try TB it when I root it

TB does not fully work
Hi,
My experience is that TB does not save all app data. I have a banking app with token configuration and TB can't save this token data. The only way is to use xRec backup and restore, but many times a custom, not stock-based ROM is not compatible to restoring an xRec backup.
So, when I change to a non-stock ROM I lose banking app's token data. Any help?
Which backup utility is the easiest to use? I have titanium backup on my phone and it appears to be working but not really sure how it works.

It copies the data files to Your sdcard.
I use it also.
But the best backup utility is xRecovery (for Xperia) or CWM

Titanium Backup IMO. Google it, play around. Freeze apps, backup...it's pretty straight forward.
Titanium Backup is my preferred one.
Not much can beat tibu

I use TITANIUM BACKUP PRO as well. It's very simple and also very efficient
clockworkmod is the best
I use a combination of MyBackup and Titanium Backup; MB for restoring apps in bulk and TB for restoring the data.
I recommended Titanium backup pro.
It's very simple and useful.

Titanium Backup is best for my taste.
Titanium+Google for apps level, and clockwork mod nandroid images for whole system backups/checkpoints.
Titanium Backup Pro
TEAM MiK
MikROMs Since 3/13/11
titanium works good for backing up apps, but for system related stuff you need something like cwm
Titanium Backup for sure !
Titanium Backup Pro all the way!

I also echo the Titanium Backup, works real nice. I don't think it backs up SMS or Call Logs though (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong!!). For that I use SMS Backup & Restore along with Call Log Back Up & Restore.
CWM
I think... and my qout goes to CWM.. everybody have it...
we need it for dev... and soo i think it`s the best... no installtion like titanium.. and soo think CWM iss the best

But mate i read on some sites that wrong titanium restoration can brick my device. That's why i 'm kinda afraid of using it.
Dude, i do not understand how someone can brick a phone using titanium backup. Maybe that guy did not gain proper superuser access, resulting in a bricked phone? Also, I think a lot of users here in xda use this app everyday, and I don't think most of them get bricked as titanium is very easy to use
Hey don't worry I am using titanium backup since a year and am not getting any problem. Yeah I admit it that some times restored apps misbehave but that is all when you play with extreme level of setting believe me and also don't forget to press thanks button

Using Titanium Backup ever since I got my first Android.............
NEver had any kind of problems. and Titanium jst restores apps it won't do anything with system as long as you haven't asked it to. So no worries abt it.....
Thanks to all of you. Now i guess i'll be using titanium backup from now on.

may be u mean the rom manager.. yep, rom manager restoration will brick our ace.. but titanium back up is safe to use..
Titanium backup is a good app too.
Titanium backup would never brick your device. I have never heard anything like that. Its upto someone who should be smart and careful enough at the time of restoring. For example, if you try to restore the system apps and data based on CM7.1 ROM to something completely different ROM, its obvious you will get trouble. But, bricking the device completely? nah....
So i backed up my phone via CWM before custom ROM installation. After installation of the new ROM, is there any way to just restore the app+data from the previous backup ??
Yes i know i can use TB but i want to know if there is a way to restore from the CWM backup I created !!
i tried google search n all but no satisfying answer

As far as I know, cwm backs up both user apps and system apps with their data so if u restore it from there, the old sytem apps and data might conflict with the new one...so I would advise against it.
Use cwm and completely restore ur old Rom, make a backup usng tb and then flash ur new Rom... Safest way!

You can simply backup your apps and data via TB and
After installing a new ROM just restore APP+DATA via TB... best way to sort and backup and restore apps individually

On some clockworkmod versions you can do an advanced restore and just choose data. Never tried it but maybe give it a shot

Not recommendable....if your phone is on different ROM before backup, restoring the backup data into different ROM will make your phone bootloop (really bad cases) or lost statusbar/setting and etc (light cases)....
since he already make a backup then TB is the best choices...

FYI : Backup from CWM contains the whole pack of the previous ROM....when you choose to restore data only, it restore all data including User Apps Data and System Apps Data....when System Apps Data is restore into a different ROM, you bet it going to make your phone into bootloop....
you are welcome to try it if you don't believe me....

I was talking about the selective backup of nandroid backup from TB. Ofc in a CWM data restore all apps(system+user) get restored. Im well aware of that and I wont be trying that
Anyways i think this tool is the best option right now. So thanks iOneX for the info :good:
A bit late I guess..
Well, I come here six months later, but Google brought me here...
I guess you're already using Online Nandroid Backup combined with Nandroid Manager. Just two days ago I restored user apps+data with Nandroid Manager from a backup created through Online Nandroid Backup. Both apps from H3r3t1c are really useful, specially working together.
Aside of this advice (surely already not needed) I was looking after a script to restore those user apps+data from a backup. I wanna include that script in my list of zips-to-flash in ZipInstaller
I'd appreciate any help. Cheers.
