Best Rom in your Opinion? - HTC EVO 3D

I'm not to sure which rom i should flash as of now and which kernel is best.
I looking forward a CyanogenMod Rom in the near future.
What are your guys suggestions?

Many of my friends swear by x rom, others swear by y rom, and some just go from one to another. I tend to agree with my friends.... I recommend finding one that suits you. This may not want you want as a reply however it is my experience that roms are like clothing..each has different tastes. Each feels different. Yes they are more similar then different but each one is unique. Speed your after...or looks...or functionality. If you are not sure..just pick one and try it out. Make a backup of one you like...try them all. I am not kidding. I am torn now between senseless and synergy. As I type this I am downloading Ava. Flashing is like a addiction that needs to be fixed. I am going thru the same pattern as when the OG evo came out...flashing everything in sight. Then after a while...I simply stick with one. I am a cm fan and used synergy then mik roms.

To all the dev's here in the 3D forums...

I have used just about all the ROMs here in the 3D section, cleanROM, Steel ROM, WTSB, just to name a few.
With Virus' eternity ROM being the latest as of last night, I have found one I am permanently going to stick to. Not knocking any other's work, as I know you all help each other out quite a bit in developing these.
All that being said, and the point of this thread, I just wanted to publicly thank you all for the awesome experience you have provided since I rooted my phone and also wanted to tell you all that I am going to go through every thread with a ROM I used and I am going to buy each of you a few drinks.
Really appreciate the hard work. Thanks again

Yeah virus has a great rom, I used it for a few days. I just got MIUI to work on my 3D recently and that rom is great, i think its a toss up between the 2.
I have tried just about every rom in the forums and a lot of them are great solid daily drivers. Remember to donate to your favorite, or send them a PM to show your appreciation. Acknowledgement of a job well done by fans of these roms, kernels, mods, themes, ect... really does a long way with the devs.

lmao.. you douche. how did i know you were going to show up? lol
i hope it's not a backhanded compliment, i have said over and over again that there are TONS of superb ROMs here, and also that I myself could never decide between them all, I don't know how many times I have been back and forth between several of them. It's an addiction, and eternity just has it all for me, the theme, the speed, all thrown into one.
If it came across as "his is better than yours" then I apologize. But that's not what was intended. It just does it for me in every way. As I said, looks, performance (both of which can be found in any other ROM I have tried) but this one has both for me. And to be perfectly honest, it's more the layout and look of it that I am diggin' man
EDIT*** and for the record, i am also trying to contribute to dev's that not only compiled the ROMs, but also had a hand in developing some aspect of it. I'm not trying to single anybody out here or play favorites by saying one is more superior than the other, just saying it's what works for me in every way. I hope my OP didn't come off that way, and again if it did, I apologize. Sometimes my fingers just kind of fly across the keyboard as thoughts come and in my head it makes perfect sense, but isn't quite conveyed the way it should be. So again, I apologize if that's the case.
What I have found is no matter how great the ROM is you will always have the urge to flash something new. Thats why we always say is addictive.
edit:
Also I did not read it as his is better than yours.
Cobra, I must say, that you are absolutely masterful in your execution.
You're like Michael Jordan, bro.
(I absolutely respect the talent, but I will stick with my previous statement.)
"sometimes my hands just fly across the keyboard" = a buzzerbeater in the last seconds of a game 7,lol.
Anyone want popcorn?

HA! so true, I can never resist myself.
Hi, my name is arqbrulo and I'm a flashaholic!
Like the title says, I am also an addicted flashaholic. The cure for me, so far, has been Boot Manager. I've been switching back and fourth between CM7, freEVO, MIUI, Myn's and Virus. Although, it's been a while since I went back to freEVO and Virus (been mainly with Myn's and MIUI). I'll have to try Virus again.
And, like Cobraboy said, thanks to all the devs for your hard work. All of you.
I'm quite the opposite. I hate flashing, setting up my phone how I like it, and reinstalling apps (titanium is great, but I prefer manual methods).
I like to stick with ONE ROM, and contiuously update it with what becomes available. Saves on the constant writing to my flash memory which will in turn guarantee me no bad blocks in the future, and also helps keep my phone running with hardly any downtime.
Unless it's AOSP and completely redone like CM7/MIUI (which boot manager is good for), what is the purpose in flashing between Sense ROMs at this point? They all are almost identical and what one lacks, you can easily get on another almost as easy as overwriting files. I will never understand the need to flash different looking, but same ROMs over and over agian. It's like having a battle between which color of the same car you want to drive. Maybe one even has a spoiler on the back, but it can easily be put on the other car.

Everybody looks for different things and holds different features as priorities or essentials for themselves.
I think the best approach is to get yourself all setup to be able to flash/load different ROMs and be able to test them out. The first one you try might be your favorite, or the 5th. Really hard to say.
If you take some time and read through each ROM OP, you'll see what they emphasize for features and how often they update/make changes/improvements.
Also, once you are setup and familiar with the flashing ROM process, it should become quite simple to move between ROMs gaining valuable personal experience.
If you have any questions around the logistics, let us know! Hope that helps! Welcome to the world of a rooted Android!

These are two of the greatest different in ROMs, mainly due to their base. The sense ROMs are all based on HTC's stock sense ROM code and the AOSP ROMs are all based on Google's straight plain AOSP code.
Quick brief description .. to get a full range of ROMs, probably best to try at least one of each to see the difference. Most popular AOSP ROM is usually CM7. I'm not sure what the most popular custom Sense ROM .. dev board should show ..
Sense! i just love the widgets and all that fancy stuff from HTC

I like infected eternity roms. I just flashed the update which is 1.4.2. Great so far, but the last couple releases have been right on for me. Basicly themed stock but has a infected tweak section in settings for change a few things. Also spot hotspot is enabled. I run stock kernal and get greqt speed and battery. Quad scores for me can hit 3000 linpak 75ish. Has been my daily driver for awhile because i cant do with sense.

Viper rom once all the kinks are worked out

[Q] What's your favorite ICS based rom so far? Phone-Bricker vs ShoStockv2 vs CM9

I switched from iPhone to Android last August and have been running UnNamed ever since. I love the android. I had wanted to re-flash it with a ICS ROM, but can't find many screenshots of how each rom looks like.
I noticed that the kernel was released for ICS 4.0.3 and lots of ROMS now have this in it.
Can any of you that have tried more than one of these roms comment on which rom you think is better? I'm not sure how to tell the roms apart from each other yet :/
I found and am deciding b/w these: SHOstockv2 ICS, CM9 (Not actual 4.0.3 ICS?), and Phone-Bricker.
I'm looking for a cool-looking ROM with lots of features. Those are my only requirements really when I look for roms.
Thanks guys!
Hi. We're not going to do vs. threads on new roms that have just come out or have been here for awhile.
Every phone is slightly different and what works great for you may not for the next person. The best bet is for everyone toy the roms for themselves and see what works best for them.
The reason we dont have these vs. threads is because it can very easily (and has in the past) turned into flame wars... because when one person says "I didnt like so-and-sos rom so I moved to this rom" its inadvertently putting down the work of that dev and his rom. It may not be intentional, but it happens. So to avoid that, we just dont do it.

[Q] Rom Vs Rom - User Input requested

I'm currently rooted (with htv dev method) and i'm considering rom'ing it up. I see there are 4 or 5 roms currently being dev'ed for. I hoped i could get some user info on some of the pros and cons of some of the roms you guys have tested. What you like and don't like, issues and things like that. In the past i've used CM, MIUI, Stock sense, and AOKP. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Flash them and test for yourself

I used Fresh ROM back in the Hero days and really liked it (currently using it on my EVO LTE with no problems). So if you like some of the Sense stuff, it's a good ROM to try from an experienced dev.
I'm running Viper with some mods, and couldn't be happier. It's sense and rock solid with great battery. I already have have over 4 hours of screen on time for today, and still have 54% of battery left. All of the roms are great in their own ways, so flex was right, read the threads, flash the ones that look good to you, and see what you like.
yea thast rite.. everyone is diff.. a rom im diggin u mite not like so deff try a few out.. another thing is all phones run diff.. a rom that runs perfect on my phone mite not on yours.. just flash away u will find one u like
Its all the same

only one rom really stands out right now and thats PKMN simply because of the tool it has to customize the look and feel of the ROM. it only has a few bugs, main one is having to manually edit a file to remap menu. the rest of the roms are practically the same. one might be updated faster than the other, but they all have the same "tweaks".
If you want to stay closer to stock, use the "Stock with Goodies" rom. otherwise pick any rom you want ELTE seems more up to date, Viper seems to have more additional mods to flash. Mainly the kernel tweaks

best ics roms and their differences question.

I was just curious as if someone had a knowledge of the ice roms and their differences, things working or not working, I have and still am reading and researching to find the best or most stable Rom.. any help would be appreciated...
you should specify cdma or gsm
however you also need to consider it's all about perspective
currently im using viper rom for sense 4.0 (cdma)
however i like the senseless rom - SOS M - it's clean, it's fast, it's sense base without the sense bs

Sorry I'm CDMA, have tried a lot of them I also like sos m, I'm curious as if any of the roms mess with signal strength some I've used put up great bars, and some seem to not get past a couple bars not sure weather its my phone or the roms, I have a do read a lot and all of the post, I just thought it be a good idea as a comparing guide that's all.. but I'm hboot 1.4 s-off, with the updated firm wear, I guess I was st asking more of what you guys like and is stable for a good daily driver.. didn't mean to offend anyone.
No I don't think you offended anyone, as there are alot of noobs on xda and after awhile you kind of get sick of the silly questions, that's all. Anyways roms are personal thing, some dudes like blondes, some like redheads(me), every rom has it's advantages and disadvantages , some work better on some peoples phones than others for many different reasons, I find a rom that I like and stay with it. Kernels is where it's at now, that makes a difference, my opinion

Yes I have seen the many repetitive questions, and its hard to read threw all of them, I've gotten to the point of were I'm pretty confident about roms witch I tend to change like underwear lol until I find one that works pretty good for what I need, I've started reading all about the kernels and what they do, but not sure if I'm ready to mess with those yet... So being my second phone in the evdo line witch I really miss my EVO 4g, am torn between the galaxy s3 n the new EVO LTE, I heard the Samsung is more developer friendly, but guess I gotta take a spin on them to see, I've noticed there's not a lot of love for the 3d... But thanks for the point in direction....
Just look through all the crap find a couple of good developers follow there work and you good to go
