Hi guys,
I'm facing a problem with downloading apps from the Market.
First of all, I'm on rendeiro's froyo rom.
After one of my last reboots, I missed like 50% of my apps (probably the ones installed on sd card). When I looked in the Market, I saw that particular apps in 'my apps' as not installed. When I look in my phone I can see them in my settings, but my phone can't identify the size and that stuff. I also can't see them in my app drawer.
Anyone has the solution to my problem. Thnx in advance

Which froyo ROM of Rendeiro2005 is it? That way I can help you better.
My solution is you reflash the ROM on xrecovery first. Sounds like a little glitch in the first time you flash.

Thnx for helping me out. It's not the First time I flashed a rom. It's like the fourth rom I use.
Reflashing won't help. Any other ideas?

First try a different sd card to see if it your current one is a bad one.
I only try sandisk micro sd cards
Then try........
Try starting over with flashtool with flashing 2.1 se firmware again. Do you know how do that?

This happened to me when I restored a backup through xrecovery after about a week cos my latest tinkering caused a bootloop. All the apps that I had updated that week were gone just like yours, but only SD ones. Its cause the part held on SD no longer matches the version on phone. I just opened appbrain and synced and they all showed to update again, so I did and they all came back. Might not be same for you but hope this helps.

@asa: thnx mate, I did the except same thing as you did, so I'll try the same solution.. I Don't have the appbrain app, is that a problem?
@voelker: you too thnx for helping me. I will do as you said if First solution doesn't work.
Thnx you guys

Just download appbrain from market, I use it more than market itself, really handy interface as you can choose to skip updates on apps and other cool features.

That would be easy if the Market could find it..

How odd, finds it for me. Try searching 'swiss codemonkeys' it should be second app on list.

I did, but the problem is that I can't download any app from the Market. It simply doesn't work.
Also I can't connect to computer, so don't know what to do now. Any ideas?

Try and flash the newest version of the market via recovery, you can find the zip on the opening page of wolfbreaks v006 thread in dev section. If that don't work then I guess its time for a fresh start. Good luck.

Ok, well I'll try that..
For the second option you will need to connect the phone to computer, but it doesn't connect; my pc doesn't recognizes my phone..

Download a new rom zip from the dev section using your phone and then boot to recovery. Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache etc. Do it twice lol. Then flash your zip. Backup what you got first tho cos it might go wrong. Try market and connection to PC on a fresh rom. That's what I'd do but I am not qualified to tell you what to do!

Thnx for your help m8, again. I did what you proposed, but again, I can't download any app from the market whatever rom I'm using
Also I can't connect to thr computer, whatever rom I'm using. I just don't know what to do. My phone works, but can't install any new apps or connect it to my pc.

Have you tried connecting the phone to the computer through xrecovery on phone with usb cable?
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
No, didn't know that was a possibility. Just boot into xRecovery and then connect to computer?

I found it, thnx. Now I flashed back to standard 2.1 software. My market works with this version, but as soon as I install any custom rom it doesn't work anymore. Does anyone know what's the problem?

Just installed a Miui rom. Just love it but the market also doesn't work on this one. Howcome the market works on stock rom but on none of the custom roms?
On tasker I tried to set a profile so my data would turn on when i would open certain apps like weather and internet but it doesn't work

I'm not familiar with tasker, but I know with data intensive apps they usually give you option such as how the app updates itself. Options such as manual, or update every 1... 2... 4... or 6 hours. Why don't see if they offer you those settings?
Sorry if I'm not much help.

I shut all my apps to update only when I want them to yet I see my phone gathering data all the time

It could be because it is backing up stuff for your Google account.

Try Juice Defender Ultimate. It's paid but it would do what you're looking for; you can have data off and then configure apps that are allowed to use data.

Has anyone else been having force closes when trying to upload screenshots to xda? Keep in mind when I say xda I do mean the application? Also on other roms when xda premium doesn't force close on me I end up getting this error message about having to update even though its already been updated? I guess I have to do it the old fashion way, take the screenshot than USB mass storage it to my computer than upload the shot thru the Mozilla Firefox browser I use on my computer

Ok I have another question. I transferred all my pics from my last phone to the DNA and they don't show up in the gallery app. They show up in quickpic though. Any wait to get them to show up there?

If you're rooted, try using file explorer to move the pictures from wherever they are to the gallery directory. Otherwise, send them to yourself and download them to the phone again.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Try clearing cache on the gallery, or restart the phone and open it.
Make sure there isn't a .nomedia file in the directory of the pictures.
If all else fails you can move them to the default picture location, and you don't have to be rooted as the guy above me seems to think.
But the default gallery app seems to be really good for me about detecting pics.

Download an app called rescan media from the play store, it'll fix your problem. :good:

Thanks everyone. Ill try a few of those

I didn't say he had to be rooted, I just said that it would make the process easier. He can just as easily send himself the pictures from the other app and download them to his gallery. OP, you should try whatever suggestion you think works best.
