Where are the alternative fonts located ? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Trying tro install my own fonts manually on a rooted Galaxy, I have a question:
Using apps changing system fonts (Font changer) don't work.
So I tried to copy other TTF (.e.g. Comic Sans MS, Gothic) to /system/fonts.
But using Settings -> Display -> Screen Display -> Fonts does not show my font even not after reboot.
But the alternative fonts listed there (e.g. 'Choko Cooky') atr NOT in the /system/fonts folder. Where arte these located ?

I'm intrested too

These fonts should be installed as apk. Look for a special thread that indicates how to sign them.

Assuming you have a system write kernel installed, There are lots of ways to do this. You can find an app that will do this for you, ViperRom has a font changer built-in, or if you want to do the old-school method, just goto /system/fonts and backup DroidSans.ttf and DroidSansBold.ttf. Those are the main fonts that android uses. Find a new font (with its bold counterpart), rename them to DroidSans.ttf and DroidSansBold.ttf, and put them in the /system/fonts folder. Reboot.
EDIT: As v-b-n points out, android doesn't use droidsans as the main font anymore. Use these instead:
Main one is -
Roboto-Regular.ttf
Roboto-Bold.ttf
Roboto-Italic.ttf
Roboto-BoldItalic.ttf

Might try the old school method but is font changer compatible with the dna?
Nvm, got it done with font changer lite lol thanks for the reply @BotsOne
Just to clarify so others reading this dont make a mistake, DroidSans is NOT the main font anymore ... its a symbolic link to Roboto fonts.
Main one is -
Roboto-Regular.ttf
Roboto-Bold.ttf
Roboto-Italic.ttf
Roboto-BoldItalic.ttf
Change just those and the whole UI should reflect ...
Here are some package I created -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113973

Oops I saw those in that folder and thought that maybe was the case, I think the links that android creates links from droidsans to roboto got me mixed up. I'll edit my older post, thanks!

[Q] How to use Windows fonts in Android

I wonder if Windows ttf fonts and Android fonts are the same, because they have the same extension .ttf, but the file size of Windows fonts are much bigger. Can I copy a standard Windows unicode ttf font (such as Tahoma, Arial, Times New Roman...) to use it as the system font in my Android device?

Product Sans?

Hello,
Anyone knows if it's possible to get Google Product Sans preferably without rooting or flashing anything? That'd be really great! Thanks in advance!
There is an easy way!
1. Download the attached file and rename .zip to .hwt
2. Copy to Sdcard/Huawei/Themes
3. Restart
4. Opens themes app and select customize -> Fonts. Select the font.
This is not my own work. Venom007 has a thread about this:

It doesn't work
It doesn't work. Followed all the steps rigorously and it doesn't appear in the fonts. I'm on a Mate 20 Lite on android 8.1 with emui 8.2, could you please tell me how to make it work? thx. I just noticed its a theme itself, but can't apply it, could you tell me to set it only as a font? not as a theme.
I fixed that, you have to download any font from the Huawei store, then the system creates a new folder named HWfonts, now you go on this folder, and copy the name of the font you have download from the store, now you put this name to the font u want to import, exactly the .ffs file, now you move it to the HWfonts folder and replace the store's font.
Sorry for my explaining I don't know much English...
Basically, you make product sans the theme. Then go to customise, you will see that it is now a text style aswell. So you switch the lock screen style to whatever you want. And the text style will remain product sans. Hope that helped.

Download, unzip, place the .hwt file in Huawei/Themes on your internal card.
Go to Me in the theme app, select my text. And you will see it. Apply, done!
Go to Settings > Home screen & wallpaper > Themes > scroll to bottom to find Product Sans > Select > APPLY
Fix fonts. Settings > Home screen & wallpaper > Icons > Select EMUI 11 default fonts > APPLY

[MIUI 10] (NO ROOT) Emoji Modification Font Problem

Hi guys.
I was trying to change the emoji style on my Xiaomi device using MIUICustomFont but when I apply iOS 12 font, it changes the system font to Noto Sans.
Is there a way to keep the system font and change only the emoji style? (for example, is there some custom .ttf font that I could use, or is there a way to edit .ttf fonts?
Thank you and I apologise for eventual errors :good:

Guide to Convert Windows Fonts to EMUI

Hi All,
So I have successfully converted some of the Windows fonts to Huawei .hwt fonts/Text Styles. Attached file link contains a list of all the Windows 10 Fonts (.ttf) that are required to do so.
1. Download the "Themes Manager for Huawei / Honor / EMUI" app from the Playstore. This version Contains ads but still worth it.
2. Extract the zip file to your desired directory on your phone or Windows (copy the folder to your desired phone directory)
3. Now Open the Themes Manager App and go to the Fonts Tab.
4. Next Click on Font Generator
5. Now Click on Generate Font.
6. Select your desired .ttf font file from the Directory that contains the Fonts.
7. Follow the next steps and Apply Them through the Text Styles.
