[Q] Icontrolpad - Motorola Photon 4G

Has anybody tried this with the photon yet? Either with the clamps or without? Thinking about getting it but not for sure if it will fit in the clamps. The controller should work by itself.
Im on my phone so I cant post a link but I believe the website is www.icontrolpad.com

Actually you are missing a r in that links name.

Looking at the device, I'm intrigued to say the least. Wonder how many apps can use it though.

WTB Proporta Alu-Leather Case for Shift

Hey All,
I just got my shift 2 weeks ago and I am having a very hard time finding cases for it. I see only that Proporta makes (or made) a case for the Shift but I can not find it anywhere for sale anymore.
Links below show what I mean, its the flip type case.
http://www.amazon.com/Proporta-Alu-Leather-Case-HTC-Shift/dp/B0017HBU7M
http://www.pocketables.net/2008/04/third-party-h-1.html
Does anyone know where I can still buy one of these? I really really hate the HTC once that comes with it, which is the one that uses the screws to hold the device in place....
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Yes I have been looking to without luck so far, I don't think there are any other services quite like it that could be customized either. So unless someone on a forum like this is selling one its unlikely to get one new, unless someone knows otherwise..

Me too, they are rarer than rocking horse sh*t

Best gTab bluetooth keyboard?

I keep reading different posts about what keyboards work and what don't and want to be 100% SURE before I order one. Can anyone post ones they KNOW work? I want something SMALL like a ipad/imac keyboard?
Links would be helpful too, I want a HIGH QUALITY one!
Thanks in advance...
I am looking for this info as well. I saw this in other threads, but not housed in 1 list. It is possible I missed it.

I have the Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile 6000, and love it. Got it yesterday, still working out some of the connection issues, but it's awesome. Bought it off CL for 30 bucks new.
Did you ever get those connection issues ironed out?

Female micro usb/hdmi...

I was curious if anybody was interested in buying these cables. Both cables would have the corresponding female micro input and the other side would be the corresponding micro male. The reason i ask is if you have a lapdock you are future proofed because motorola likes to make specific accessories for different model phones and likes to charge an excessive premium for these accessories. With these cables you , hopefully, should be able to use lapdock and future lapdocks, if motorola is good on their word, plus you can have your atrix next to your lapdock and be able to use it still. I am thinking maybe used like this you wont need a bluetooth mouse either because you can use screen for the mouse input which is loads better than the touchpad. Micro female cables seem to be hard to come by looking online. I am awaiting an answer from my source to see if these can be had. The minimum order is 1000 of them. I would probably sell these for about $20 shipped in the US if my price is right. Both cables btw. I hope this in right section. Figured it would get the appropiate looks here because it is unique and it is a question. Please post if youre intersted or pm me. If my source comes up good, and there is enough interest i will post back. And yes there would be discount for multiple orders. Dont ask how much. I dont even know how much yet.
Btw, i am getting a lapdock tomorrow to test drive. I am going to measure approximate length needed for this to be useable on right side. I am guessing in the neighborhood of 18-24"/45-60cm. It will be longer than needed if accessorized on the left side of lapdock. I mention this because there will be no custom lengths, colors or whatever. I dont even have any.
I voided my warranty.
well, i just got my quotes. i can do these cheaper than mentioned earlier. i am hoping this might garner some interest, especially for the peeps looking for hdmi mirroring using emulators. i am hoping somebody figures that out too. it'd be nice to play some super nintendo on a lapdock full screen. please respond if interested. i have to order 25 minimum and i only need 4 of each. i can get them posted on ebay also.
PM sent....
can the Atrix be used while in the lapdock? or while connected to it, if its using these cables?
EDIT: oh, mirroring. havent messed with that, wasnt sure the lapdock did that

i don't know. i'm getting lapdock tomorrow. i'm guessing it can be used while in lapdock. i don't know yet if it can be used with cables. that too i'm guessing on. i'm hoping the touchscreen can be used as touchpad like webtop over hdmi hack. and i just found out that motorola fubar'ed photon users by flipping the connections so they can't use the lapdock.
I modded my laptop to fit the photon. I'll try it out, i didnt know there was a hack to enable use while in webtop.
EDIT: stock functions are the volume and power, no other buttons work nor does the screen work. where is the mod for the touchscreen for the atrix? i tried searching but no dice. i wonder if would even work on a photon
Did you ever order these? I am interested in using the AT&T 50.00 Atrix lapdock with a Droid razr and I am guessing that this will be neccesary.
---------- Post added at 08:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:15 AM ----------
Wondering if you ever ordered them.
I am interested in using the Atrix lapdock available for 50.00 right now with a droid razr, and it I think this might be necessary.
hi,do you still have any left and how does it work?
I'd also be interested in these cables.
Thanks
I'd be interested too....
Very interested. I would like to use phone as webcam since cover blocks front screen.

Any more?
Do you have any more of the cables? I'd like to buy one.
Interesting, I also would be rather interested in purchasing one or two sets of these cables. Would be nice to semi future-proof my lapdock that I purchased for $50.
still selling these cables? I'm interested...I'll send you a PM..

PS3 controller demoed on the prime

This clip shows the great gaming capabilities of the prime... really cannot wait any longer:

Ohhhh that is beautiful. I wanted the TP already for video playback and just generally taking my tablet experience up to 11, but now... oh now...

Thanks for posting that. Finally a riptide GP player that doesn't hit the wall on the first turn! haha.
It's definitely in a class of it's own, amazing machine.
Booo! I had hoped that you could pair the ps3 controller up to the tablet using bluetooth. Do you HAVE to use the cable?

The description says:
"Bluetooth does work via the "sixaxis tool" on Android Market (requires root). It is however limited and doesn't work with Riptide GP nor Shadowgun (gamepad not detected). It does work with a few emulators after some tweaking, but it's far from as quick and easy as with a USB connection. "
ICS will have native support for controllers so its only a matter of time.
That is so cool. but does it not work via bluetooth?
really enjoyed this, as i know nothing about nothing. I wasn't sure if i could run good emulators on this thing... now i know.
I need to clean my pants now... I am so glad I've got a ps3 now

Maybe try reading at least ONE post above yours.... -.-
kinda bummed BT doesn't work natively, but hopefully it will in ICS...
why do we have to make new treads as fast something comes up? This prime forum is just filled with ****. People need to take a breath before starting new threads just for fun or want to be seen. The quality is really low,
I posted this link yesterday in the review thread that it would make sense to be. Every new thing doesn't need to have a thread.
This is just amazing. To be able to plug this in, and use it so easy, wow... Emulators, here I come!
Now to make it easier with bluetooth...

It'll worK. Listed as a supported controller along with wii remote and several third party controllers.
I'm wondering if it will work natively (i.e., as though it were plugged in) with the Xbox 360 Wireless Dongle?

With the wireless dongle in the. Dock, it would. All I remember them saying and me seeing is them using the controller with it and it's supported. Now Remember, some games don't support the bt controller option and will have to be used with controller plugged in. I think there's work around for that if game doesn't support it. some app in marketplace can't remember name of.
Its not a matter if Prime supports controller cuz it supports them all. It's a matter of if the game itself supports wireless gamepad or gamepad support. As far as I know, it's ShadowGun n riptide that doesn't support the wireless unless workaround used. I may be wrong on that, hopefully someone else chime in with more insight into that.
Any idea if third part Xbox360 controllers will work? I have a wired Afterglow controller that's picking up dust that I'd love to use over a BT wireless controller (to save on batteries). Just the fact that Google decided to support these controllers natively in ICS is so great. I love what Google has been doing over the past couple years! And people say iOS is user FRIENDLY. Pfft!

I like having different threads for different things. Seriously, look at all the posts this thread spawned. If someone doesn't have a wireless controller, nor care anything about wireless controller connectivity, why should they have to sort through all these posts in a generalized review thread? This way, they can easily ignore all this and focus on the things that are of interest.
Frankly I'm getting a bit annoyed every time someone posts something like "why does this have its own thread?" It's not like it costs XDA money for every new thread or something If you don't like that there are a bunch of different threads, don't read them! But don't ***** because people like organization or think things should be organized differently than you think they should.

Is Transformer Prime worth it?

I have been looking into buying a Transformer Prime Tablet but after coming on these forums I see that it isn't exactly a perfect machine. So how bad are these problems? How bad is the wifi? GPS? The tegra 3 is supposed to be 3x as fast as the tegra 2, is it? I understand that every piece of technology will have its ups and downs and you will always have people complaining but I hear even ASUS started acknowledging this? Also whats up with this new shut off problem and problems with updating or after updating?
Sorry to hit you guys with all these questions but Its a big investment, and my main use will be school.
Thanks in advanced!
Yes. If you want one of the better tablets out there, you desire a tablet that can replace most of a laptops functions and like a laptop you don't need a fully functional GPS you will love it.
If you are like all the other complainers out there about a tablet not having a GPS, then don't bother. We don't need another one of those complainers out there.
Good luck in your choice I am very happy with mine.

What about the wifi and the other common problems? Also I plan on getting a wifi only one anyways so gps can only do so much for me
I just bought mine yesterday and I love it. Theres a noticible speed difference between this and my tf101.
My wifi seems fine, not so sure about my gps because I havent tested it without wifi on, but with wifi it worked fine.
Im a college student and I use my tf in school, not for notes though, nothing will beat the feeling of pen on paper.
I use it for a planner in jorte calender to keep on top of my due dates.
I use it to capture pictures of powerpoint slides for professors that do not upload.
I use it on the bus there to play games, watch movies, watch cbt nuggets, study, or listen to music.
I use it as a second screen (gotta love the dock) for project writeups while I do forensics projects on computers in the computer lab.
I've also replaced my phone with google voice/skype - as I have a 4g hotspot .
Most importantly I use it to show the world how large my penis is by having a quadcore tablet.

GPS is the only common problem. All others are small numbers compared to whole of working devices. Just check out positive thread in my signature. The answer you seek is there. Don't get sucked into all this b.s. on the surface. Majority of prime owners happy with device n have no issues or hardly any. Decide for yourself. Look at both sides. Issues side tend to exaggerate n complain alot more. Not as many people have it as it may seem on surface. Plenty of polls hereto price that.

Thanks again. In theory it should of worked, but I forgot to mention I deleted the bloatware as well. I downloaded a system dump of system/app/, but I need to make nandroid backups before I swap something like that out, and I don't have a recovery console like cwm right now.

Check the thread you made..I posted in there
thanks, that was exactly what I needed. On paper it seems like a beast and in reviews it did amazing. But these forums kind of had me skeptical.
I bought many Prime after reviews online and testing one at the local store. But waiting for mine to be delivered I started finding threads about all these issues. Can honestly say I was scared I made the wrong choice.
However, no WiFi or GPS issues
Now - I have a ton of learning to do... this isn't quite what I was expecting and have a lot of setup to do to make use of this new toy.
I feel you. Yesterday I went around looking for them, and gamestop was the only place with them in stock. Their return policy is "once you open it, you're stuck with it". Nervously made the decision to buy it, handed over my 534 dollars. Opened it, perfect unit. Took the biggest sigh of relief.
i got this device a week ago, and everything works great for me. wifi is just fine
I don't have any shut off, random reboot or wifi problems with my prime, although the GPS doesn't work. The keyboard dock works extremely well (and is a handy backup battery). Personally I consider it a required feature for a tablet, which rather limits alternatives.
Although I am very happy with my prime, and it can do everything I require of it (which includes coding), it doesn't offer *quite* the performance I'd hoped for and if you don't feel you need a tablet I'd hold off for another generation. Tablet tech is good now but at the current rate of improvement this time next year it should be great.
