Had mine for three days and noticed a band of static in the lower quarter of the display yesterday. Thought it may be the Desktop 3d I was running as is only occurred briefly and I had only been running it for a couple of days. Today I took it into Sprint as I noticed the screen inside the gorilla glass is delaminating. They told me it was the LCD pealing off.

Hey guys, I recenty activated my backup 3D because my primary somehow got a deep scratch in the screen (so much for gorilla glass...) the phone is brand new and had hboot 1.5 and got it downgraded to 1.4. Well on the stock I noticed a brighter portion of the screen and it looks almost like a bubble, the middle of the screen looks great but when using a app with a dark background there is a bright ring around the whole edge of the screen (maybe .25 inches around the whole screen) and I am not sure what to make of it. Has anyone else had this kind of problem?
I had this problem on my evo 4g, although it doesn't pose any sort of issue with the phone, its a stress mark. They occasionally happen in your pocket where something has pushed down on the screen.
Other than it being an eye sore, there's nothing wrong with the screen.
(Sprint store informed me in my situation that since my screen was too perfect they would only replace it if I was OK with having a sub-par used screen with scratches.
No Fox you can reemplace screen to Fox however actually uf it os too annoying

Not sure how that's possible because it is a new phone and has never been activated. Kind of sucks because I am very OCD with my electronics and that scratch in my other screen came from no where and it really pisses me off... Guess I just have to live with it or go back to the scratched screen.
I thought this phone had Gorilla Glass? I never had a screen protector on my OG Evo and that thing went through hell without a single scratch...
I thought the same thing about my evo 4g, apparently it just happens. My 4g was only a week old when it happened.
I'm so OCD about my phones they have a dedicated pocket that nothing else goes in to, I wont activate my phone without a screen protector, and I wont go more than a week without an otterbox case lol. Stress marks were a mystery to me as well
I love my dear Rezound, as it has helped me so many times, and maybe might've even saved my life at one point. I am the only 1 out of 5 lines who is not tied down to a contract and does not have a Samsung Galaxy S III or Note 2, because I love this phone that much. But the problem is, after 6-7 months after I got it, it fell down on the concrete sidewalk and cracked the screen. It was only two really small hairline cracks, so I didn't think anything of it, only the occasional annoyance that I dropped it whenever I watched a YT video. I was fooling around with a bunch of my friends, and it fell out of my pocket, now the screen's broken to the point where if I touch it, I can sort of like...feel the screen being pushed down. The touch screen still works, and I'm planning to get it replaced at a local mall sometime this month. So I was wondering...if the store rips me off and uses just a cheap screen, will the display be bad? Will I not get that same, cool, color as I did when it wasn't broken?
TL;DR if a store that fixes phones uses a low quality screen, will the colors not be the same as it was before?

it depends on the service at the store. If they charged less than $50 to replace it. 9 times out of 10 it was just the glass.
if it was more. then they did replace the lcd. A lot of the times they will buy OEM but you do have the off chance of getting a China knock off.
tl:dr it is quite possibly they did replace with a bad lcd. Most places offer a warranty on it so i would go talk to them.
If just the digitizer is cracked and not the LCD, then they should just replace the digitizer and all the colors and richness will remain. The only Rusk is dead spots on the touch screen which if its a reputable store should have some kind of warranty I would think.

People early on were complaining a lot about dead pixels and gaps. For those who have gotten the One recently, Have those quality control issues been fixed?
This was a fear when I got mine, I actually went into the store (as opposed to just ordering it online) to make sure there were no issues.
I got mine on June 28th (black edition) and I'm happy to say there are zero dead pixels, and no gap in the design. Just don't be afraid to complain if you find an issue though.
Hope this helps!
I've had six ones pass through my hands since early May. My latest one from earlier this month (07/05) has not had any issues. All but one were black. The edge on the screen glass vs. speaker cover about the same (slight lip from being higher). No dead pixels or screen anomalies. All had fine sound. The only thing I see that is inconsistent is the eccentricity of the camera's lens inside the glass on the back. Have not seen one that was perfectly centered!
Well I got a black one from Amazon and within 18 hours it went into a boot loop and could not get to recovery. I took it to the AT&T store and they said there was a problem with the power button so I sent that back to amazon and bought a silver one in the store and it is flawless. Power button is raised up, screen is flush with metal, no dead pixels, no gaps.
So over the last week or so I started noticing this small red/orange spot with a yellow border around it on the side of my screen on my Verizon G3. It is right next to where I usually have my thumb at. Not sure if the pressure from me holding it is separating the loca glue. The touch screen still functions fine in the area. I don't use a case and haven't dropped the phone since I got it (a few months ago). I previously had a G2 and never had any problems like this or with any other smart phone I've had before.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Should I see if my warranty with LG will take care of this?
Merry christmas to you! ^_^
Today, after 2 weeks, i removed the original screen protector from the display, and noticed some strange big lines/waves on it: three horizonal lines and one wave on the left side. They are not scratches (and could not be) and the display isn't cracked.
At first i thought it was dirty glue so tried to clean it gently with a bit of soap. They seemed to be gone away. But then when i put a finger on the screen, they reappeared and i noticed that they were invisible only when the screen was completely clean and black. Tried again with more force and soap but without success. I searched and found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/screen-coating-issues-t3134029
it's exactly the same problem described here.
In conclusion, as soon as i have time, i will go back to the store and ask for warranty replacement because it seems an oleophobic coating/ screen refining issue.
Has anyone noticed this kind of defect? In my case, it's really evident. Looking more carefully i saw there are at least three more waves like that.
(on the second picture i reproduced the lines i see on the display)
