I didn't have time to unlock my SC02C in a docomo shop, and left Japan. Is there any way to unlock this device? Unless I have no phone to use before I return to Japan. Please Help!

Newbie. Please help!

Greetings All,
Am new to android world and was wondering if you guys can help me here.
I have a sim locked HTC hero phone from Airtel ( Indian Carrier ) I realise I can get it unlocked and use any other sim.. however, I would loose the warranty bit of the phone. Just wondering, would I be able to lock it back if something goes wrong to send it back to HTC?
Also, any Airtel hero customers here? can you please confirm if the phone lacks any features when compared to unlocked hero's? if yes, will we get the phone to be "normal" after unlocking it??
Thanks for taking your time to help.

Removing the SIM lock from your phone should not invalidate your warranty, at least not here in the UK.

Dave
EDIT: I should add that rooting and/or installing a custom ROM on your phone, would likely invalidate your warranty but this is a completely separate issue from removing the SIM lock.

Thanks for your reply. warranty becomes void here if you unlock it. Do you think we would be able to revert it to the original state if need be?
I don't know of any way of relocking a SIM lock on the Hero. You could try PM'ing ferraripassion as he may know.
You may find that you are better off using a RebelSIM (hint: Google RebelSIM) rather than unlocking your phone.

Dave

Got questions about unlocking :/

Well i got my friends LT18i to SIM UNLOCK, And im confused
I dont mind unlocking the bootloaader or anything for the matter

Hi, before post, please read the qa section of your android phone.
You can root the phone and install a custom rom in order to unlock.

[Q] Rooting and Carrier unlock

Does Rooting the phone in any way help us to get the carrier unlock key for the device from the phone's root files?
Can this be done in an Xperia Ray?
I am Rooting an UK O2 based phone for use in India.

Root doesn't sim unlock the phone.
You have to pay.
As dimitars84 said. Also you can ask for unlock key from the contractor after the contract is over but I think it'll be difficult for u given u r in India and device is from UK. You can give it a shot to wotan server or other such methods but I can't assure you that they'll work. Even if they'll its hard to tell whether fastboot would be enabled or not.

AJ

[Q] SIM unlock

Hi guys!!
I've bought my sony xperia z2 from France and its locked to Orange network in france, now I've moved to UK/London, my phone is 4.4.4, I've flashed unbranded UK 4.4.2 firmware in order to unlock the sim, but it still asking for the SIM network unlock PIN, I've tried two firmwares (17.1.A.2.55 UK unbranded) and (17.1.2.A.0.314 UK generic/unbranded).. they've flashed successfully but the phone still asking for that unlock PIN.
How to solve this problem and unlock to mobile network so I can use an UK SIM?? My UK SIM is (LYCAMOBILE).
Thanks for reading and special thanks for helping!

Hi
Recently I bought a unlock code to my Z2 from Orange Do, I used this web site to buy:
https://www.easyunlockshop.com/
SIM-unlock.net
unlock
just type unlock in xperia x2 in google
I bought a second hand Z2 which was locked to Orange. Called threeuk, my current provider, automated system asked for Imei, they txd me the code for free within 7 days.
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
Thank you all guys ?, I called orange in france and asked them for the unlock code, they gave it for me for free ?
Thanks again!
