Need serious miui help - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For a whole week now I've been trying to use miui and it fails I've tried every flash method nothing works one minute the rom is fine then every app had a screwed up permission a reboot fixes it and then it breaks again can someone please help me
Sent from my miui revamped vibrant

Have you tried fixing permissions in recovery? Every time I flash miui I end up flashing something else in a week or so. Battery life is always horrible for me and there's always some other bugs that creep up. So awesome looking though.

I fix permissions at least 5 times every flash that's how often things break

ok so lets be honest here, your doing something thats making your system unstable. seriously unstable.
do you OC/UV? If not stop using revamped, it's built for that.
do you restore Data/apps with Titanium? If so.. Stop.
do me a favor so i can help you troubleshoot this.
write down what apps you use/have installed, don't back them up.
pretend titanium backup does NOT exist.
Back up any videos, Music, Pictures you want to keep
Odin to stock.
512.pit
T959UVJFD.tar
Flash MY update.zip (3.x Orange Recovery)
follow these flashing steps
Format SD (back up music, pics, videos)
Factory Reset/wipe Data
Mounts menu -- Format System
Flash Miui 1.8.5 if you do NOT OC/UV don't use revamped use this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123922
advanced Menu -- Fix Permissions
Reboot, wait 5 mis or so.
open file explorer
if you do NOT see a folder named external_sd Make one (all lower case)
Reboot
Themes. Verify ANY themes you use are updated for 1.8.5+ older themes can cause instability
verify any kernels you use are stable with CM7/Miui (I personally run Glitch V11 Low Leak)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041532
Verify any Mods you use are updated for the latest version of Miui 1.8.5
(I personally use Extended Settings Mod)
http://forums.miuiandroid.com/showthread.php?7738-MOD-Extended-Settings-Menu-Options
ok so again don't use titanium to back anything up, just spend the 10 mins re-downloading everything you use regularly.
PM if you run into anymore issues after following my instructions listed above.

Need step-by-step help flasing Axura 2.2.5.7 Rom

Im on my way to flash Axura 2.2.5.7 on my rooted vibrant . I titanium backed up all my system data and all apps using ‘back up all apps + system data’ feature of titanium. I, then, downloaded Rom Manager *free version… and flashed clockworkmod recovery…then rebooted into recovery and made a nandroid back.
I have now downloaded ODIN 3 v 1.70 on my computer.
I have been reading various guides (including vibrant wiki and bible) on how to root and flash roms.
Since I did ‘flash clockworkmod recovery’ yesterday..do I need to do it again?
Can any one direct me to a step by step process on flashing the Axura Rom.
I guess it’s the fear of the unknown while flashing for the very first time.
Thanks
EDIT: I have copied the titanium folder from internal memory to my pc just in case. I also would like to make a back up of rom manager (nandroid backup or whatever it is caleld) onto my computer... How do I do that? I wasn't ablt to locate the folder.

The only other thing you need to do, is put the Axura2257.zip (Or whatever it's name is) on the INTERNAL memory card & flash via clockwork Mod or Rom Manager
sorry..a noob here and it might be a stupid question: Can I also use ODIN to flash the rom? I feel I would be more comfortable working through ODIN.

Im telling you!, its less the hassle and way easier to do it through Clockwork Mod

Just make sure you have two files on your 16g internal memory - Update.zip and the Axura.zip(can be named anything other than Update.zip for obvious reasons) file.
Reboot the phone into recovery. If it's blue then hit reinstall packages until it turns green with more options. This may take two times so don't freak if it's still blue after the first, just do it again.
Once in the green recovery go to install file from SD and select the Axura.zip file. Agree to everything and let it run it's course. Once done hit reboot now and enjoy.
thanks guys. just flashed Axura 2.2.5.7 ROM without any hiccups for the first time
Now need to restore apps and settings
Now one more question: What is voodoo and what is the benefit of enabling it on Axura 2.2.5.7?

Woah.. Were you on Android 2.1? Don't restore settings if you were.
Voodoo just converts to EXT4 (Which is faster)
Yes i was on 2.1. I read your post after i had started restoring all apps and data. i turned off my phone when i read this post. how can i get my data stored if not settings?

You can't to my knowlege... 2.1 & 2.2 are very different, and if you restore the settings & apps then there are going to be allot of problems.. I would just reflash it and manually setup the settings this time, and then backup everything up for the next ROM you choose..
that sucks. I have alot of apps (around 70/80). I had customized settings on them. Its sad not being able to restore those apps and their settings. I can do with system settings.
But overall thanks alot for a great phone experiences. its extremely snappy now and im loving my phone again hehe...
Two things from my experience.
1. You should be able to restore all your apps you backed up in Titanium Backup as it seems to be able to tell what apps won't work with Froyo. You'll see them with a line through them in Titanium. Just restore missing apps with data using the batch feature. Do not restore the one with + all system data.
Then go to Backup/Restore at the top and scroll down to green [SMS/MMS/APN] Dialer Storage and click that and restore it too (this is your text messages). You must restart your phone now for it all to take effect.
2. After you complete #1 - Hit up the market for Voodoo Toggle Reboot app (free). Once it's open you can Enable/Disable Voodoo with it. Click it if it's not green and then hit Reboot Now to activate it. You'll hear Linda talking to you while voodoo installs which may take a bit so don't worry.
Voodoo changes the file system to ext4 which is way faster and very stable. Your phone will fly with it.
You will have to setup new settings for everything else this time, but if you use Launcher Pro you'll be able to backup your desktop settings for next time. Once you get everything the way you like it, backup with Launcher Pro and then with Titanium Backup for next time.
Make sure you don't flash anything else through clockwork with voodoo active unless the Dev says it's ok to do so. An example would be when Axura 2.2.5.8 comes out it'll probably be ok to flash without messing with voodoo (crosses fingers).

[Q] noob looking for a little help. Just bought a vibrant, I think its rooted. Can i

flash a different rom on it or do I have to do anything to the current settings. I'm a total noob, its my first android phone.
In settings>about phone>
firmware version = 2.2
kernal version = 2.6.32.9
build number = nero v4.1 twiz edition by Team whiskey
(does build number indicate the current rom?)
I read around this forum and it said that you should ask if you're not compeletely sure about something (or else it could brick!?). So do I just follow the rom flash guide and everything should be ok or do I have to change any settings or permissions of the current rom to make it work?
Also does flashing a rom delete all the apps and their associated cache/settings/etc? Anything I can use to back this stuff up so if I plan to go to a different rom, everything can come with me without any problems? (I guess it would take pretty long to download/install everything and synchronize the settings every time I flash a new rom).
Thanks in advance.
Yes build number indicates rom
Most roms wipe your phone
Download titanium backup from the market to backup apps but don't use it to restore system apps
Before you do anything, please check both guides in my signature. It will help you a lot.
This is what I would do (after you read). These steps basically are giving you a new phone.
Titanium Backup and nadroid backup
move all files (internal/external to pc) (not needed, but can't hurt)
format both internal and external cards (not needed, but may help)
download new rom, move to sdcard/
reboot into CWR
factory wipe, wipe data, wipe dalvik
flash new rom
wipe data/dalvik (not a factory wipe)
reboot... wait 10 minutes (dont touch the phone)
reboot
restore apps with Titanium Backup
reboot
enjoy
As far as roms go, I love Trigger 2.7.1. It's pretty amazing. There are newer 2.2.1 roms out, but they are not perfect yet, great roms, but not like Trigger yet.

+1 great advice here and also a fellow trigger user. Only thing I would add is to use the overstock version... love it myself.!

Thanks guys, I will follow those steps and install trigger. Btw, don't know a lot of the xda terminology yet, what does overstock mean and what are the differences compared to the normal non overstock? Thanks.
btw "download new rom, move to sdcard/" means the internal storage right, not my external microsd card?
as to the overstock its just a specific version of the trigger 2.7.1 rom. You will find the link in the trigger post here

I will refrain from answering your other question as I am still in the learning process myself and dont want to mislead you.
^ it is a kernel in the development section. It is essentially a stock kernel (not overclocked) so its very stable... the benefit is that it converts the file system to EXT4 (Trigger already does this) and that is a LOT faster.
It also has Voodoo Color (put your brightness at full and be in awww of your screen).
It also has Voodoo Sound (AMAZING quality from your headphones... requires the app from the market, free).
It also has BLN.... since our phone doesnt have LED for notifications, you can use this app to know when you have a notification, it lights up the buttons (ie, home, menu, etc). Also a free app, and a paid version with more features.
SO.... yeah, essentially a stock kernel with a LOT of very cool features. It is also what I run with Trigger.
edit, forgot, it also has a ram hack to free up more ram....
ok cool i'll go with the overstock then. So when I plug in the phone and enable the usb storage, on my computer it shows two drives. One is my external microsd card and one is the phones drive. I have to put the rom on the root of the phone's drive right?
Correct, that would be scard/ if you were using a file system on your phone to move the file. But yes, move to internal root folder.
edit, please read the guides!

cant stress that enough. I did exactly that, followed his guides and even though I messed up it was well after I was finished and it answered all of my questions and saved me a lot of hassle.

And welcome to the Trigger club... Hope you enjoy your stay.
thanks again guys. So I'm on my second day with this trigger rom and I've encountered some bugs, but I can't post in the developer section until i get 10 posts
1) I can't save images from the browser or download
2) The gallery loads insanely fast, but I have an image that is very high res yet when I zoom in to that image it still looks pixelated and not the same quality as when I viewed it in my previous rom. Its the same picture so that hasn't changed, I don't know why its not giving a high res view when zooming in.

Im done with this (Cant Flash Correctly)

Hello guys, first I will like to thank all of you for supporting the forum and for helping me a lot. I been trying by far do the list below and I cant get it to work correctly in more then 20 attempts and Im afraid I will totally brick my vibrant.
Done Procedures;
I have ROOTed the Phone
BackUp all my files using Titanium
Flashed ClockWorkMod with Rom Manager
Flashed with ROM Bionix V 1.3.1
Delete Cache and Dalvik...
Rebooted system
At that point everything is good but once I install a kernel I start having problems with the SD recognition by PC and Installing or un-installing apps to device
Any tips or step by step how should do to install Bionix 1.3.1 with kernel Tigers Blood with Voodoo sound and colors without a problem?
or maybe to install Axura with out been so lagging.
Any reason for not testing Trigger, with OverStock 2.2?
Try trigger, or a 2.2.1 port. Pne of those may work faster.

I will try this mate and report back. I just did an back up and now lets just see how this setup does it for me. All I want is a good theme ROM, fast and stable, Honestly I loved the Axura ROM but is to lagging for me for some reason.
Bionix is great but I have the same problem with all the roms I install. When the USB is not detected then is the apps cant be install or un-install.
Will try this one as I havent yet and besides it gives me more experience nothing to loose.
Thanks mate
Feel free to shoot me a pm if needed. Just be sure you've read the noob guide.

OMG here we go again, I think Im doing something wrong. I have the same issue as the more same I do like the How to's state I have the problem with installing and un-installing soft. When i even try to restore my back up for apps from Titanium it wont let me since all the apps stay like computing. I think is something wrong with the apps system or something.
I havent flashed yet the kernel.
I will try to install the ROM again
Not to sound rude, but did you follow the instructions in the noob guide on the proper way to backup, flash and restore?
Perhaps you should just ODIN back to stock and start over if you have.
Let me know if I can help, try and be detailed in your posts though... that last one, I really have no clue what you were trying to say.
Odin root cwm flash...... I hope your only flashing one thing at a time... Not rom+kernel+theme+ boot animation or somthing wildly stupid

TY so much mate
Ok, Im done, I have installed the ROM and let it sit for 10 mins at least then rebooted. What step should I do now to flash a kernel like Tiger blood or OverStock.
Or what will be the next step other then configuring the login for google?

I did used the ODIN to Stock Flash my phone and then one out a time after reboot ect...
you may want to stay stock trigger for awhile and test it out.
when ready, download overstock 2.2, move it to sdcard/, reboot to CWR, install from zip (like a rom), after you flash it, reboot.... you'll notice a new splash screen for overstock, all done.

Ok, I have seen enough of this. lol I so sad to see how easy this is but frustrated when I get problems like the one I still have. Everything was great until I started installing the apps from the Titanium back up i made. It did installed about 15 apps but after those been installed successfully it just got stocked loading and it wont install any more apps or even un-install. Cant even install apps from the market.
What is wrong with this thing, is very stressful try and try and get the same result on 4 different ROMS I have tested already. I really hate to ask for help as I like to read and try it for myself so I can about a new hobby.
But this one is biting my hand very hard. Can you please tell me ehat can I do in this case mate to trouble shoot this?
Thank you for your time friend
Something I have done a bit different is that I have put the files in separate folders for more organize.
Like for sample; at sd_root/ I have a folder name Download which it have sub-folders that look like this tree below
Download
//
-Kernels/
-Metamorhp Mods/
-Misc Mods/Apps
-Modems
-Mods
-Roms
-Themes
Do you think that will be a problem by not having the Files at the root location at SD?
When you are restoring your titanium back ups, are you only restoring apps? I mean, are you restoring system data too? You don't want to restore system data, and only restore apps. Sometimes restoring system data from previous roms can cause problems.
If this still doesn't help, you might just want to redownload all your apps, and then make a backup. Sounds like your issue is linked to titanium back up.

That makes sence!! I will load the ROM again and start over and see how it goes installing just the apps. I was restoring the apps and data
If it doenst help I will continue your suggestion to install the apps one by one NOT from the Titanium as it was back up from a different ROM.
thanks i will let know how it goes.
stay away from restoring system data when flashing roms. Just the apps with the app data. Hope this helps man. If not, let's go over the entire order of what you are doing and we will figure out what is going on.

Ok here goes to nothing. I have dont everything correctly like the Guide's stating and everything works great at first but them it just stop working the whole file system apparently. Is just works great and after few app installs it just fail. When I go to check the files from the File management it just say Computing instead of loading and give the file size info ect....
What can it be I dont have a clue as I have search the whole forum and I dont see this problem posted by any other. Its just wont install, un-install or even cant stop any app from working.
What else can i do?
When backing up with Titanium, its okay to back up user apps and their data. As far as system data, Titanium has it sorted by what is and isn't safe to restore. Green entries are all good, don't back up any entries with red text.
This is how I've been backing up stuff since before 2.2 dropped, and I've never run into any strange issues.
Just a shot in the dark, but it might be a bad sd card, or just needing a format. Try backing up all your sd files on your computer, and format your sd card and see if that helps. I had some funky stuff going on with my phone, and it went away after I did that.

[Q] Apps to sd options

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for moving apps to my sd card. I'm currently rooted but on the stock 2.1. Have done some searching but haven't had much luck. I'm a newbie and haven't jumped in to the rom realm yet. Guess, I don't want to run the risk of screwing anything up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It would probably be easiest to flash [ROM][GPL][3/15/2011] xtrSENSE5.0.1 [cache2cache,apps2sd,oc,jit]-HTC Sense. It is extremely close to stock but has all the advantages including having Apps2SD built in. You can read zach.xtr's instructions for using Apps2SD under AndroidOS 2.1 in that first post in a section that's titled "Apps2sd and Cache2sd:".

The last version of this I used was v4.6.5, just less than a couple months ago. Before that I had run many versions of it and xtrROM. At the moment I'm using GSB v2.7.
I don't recall any problems with xtrSENSE at all, it's the ROM I recommend the most to people who ask for a recommendation.

I appreciate that. I'll continue to research it and take your recommendation into consideration. Just a little hesitant to roms still but if I want to better my eris, looks like I need to jump the gun a little.
xtrSENSE is a fantastic ROM and I also recommend it to anybody new to rooting, unless they are specific in wanting to get away from Sense at all costs, or needs something like Google Voice Search/Actions (which requires Froyo or better).
I have one issue with xtrSENSE, but it seems to be unique to me: after running the ROM for a while, the phone becomes erratic about reminders for items in my calendar. For example, if I have a meeting at 4:30 pm and have a reminder set to 15 minutes, after running these ROMs (xtrSENSE, xtrROM and stock, actually) for a while, they may or may not sound the reminder at 4:15 pm, as desired. Sometimes they do, often they don't - often, they will fire off at some random time hours later, and even rarely never remind me at all until I restart the phone, and then they all start pouring in.
This was the major reason why I finally rooted a few weeks after 2.1 finally came to the Eris last year.
I have never seen anybody else report this issue with xtrSENSE, though, so I continue to recommend it to others. It's great advantage is that if you have been running stock, it will look and feel just the same, except faster, with better battery life, without the lag that happens with stock as your text message and call log grows.

So, after looking into both xtrROM and xtrSense, I'm not sure which would be the better idea. I don't have to have sense but both sound like they would be great roms. Also, should I stick with 2.1 or jump higher to 2.2 or even 2.3??

It would probably be best if you just start flashing some of them to see for yourself. Keep in mind that without the Sense home, the phone will feel a little different, plus not be able to use the Sense widgets. Since you already have experience with Sense, flash xtrROM and see how you like it. Then I would personally just skip right over 2.2 and go to 2.3 since it's essentially fully developed now.
I'm personally using GSB (soon to flash v2.8) and Tazz's Gingerbread ROM get's rave reviews, too.
Try a few ROMs and find out what you like best.
What's the best back up app? Or, with Astro and a nandroid, would that be good enough?

As far as backing up your apps and/or their settings, I swore by My Backup Pro for quite a long time but since going to Gingerbread, I've taken advantage of Titanium Backup's ability to restore apps to where they were backed up from (not applicable to the stock ROM), which is handy for me because using Gingerbread's (or Froyo's) native Apps2SD, I have a total of 190 user and system apps.
I don't know if they've added any feature like that in My Backup. If they have, then it would have been very recently.

Personally, I use cyanogen as my rom and nandroid to backup the phone...you know in case the rom fubars the phone.
Sent from my Eris ADR6200 using XDA App
I use titanium back up and copy my sdcard to my computer before doing a wipe also make a nandroid copy there as well.
I went with My Backup Pro and made a copy of my sd card to my laptop. I was trying this technique last night but it had an error at the end of the command prompt.

I see this at that link:
However, Google listened and with Froyo or Android 2.2 release, they included the App2SD functionality.

You said you're on rooted stock, and those instructions are for 2.2+ ROMs only so it won't help you unless you since flashed another ROM. Have you? If so, which one?
Also, those instructions are purely to help move apps which normally wouldn't allow you to move them, which as I might've said Titanium Backup (paid version) will allow you to do by the Batch, and the free "Install Manager" may allow you to do so in batch, too, I've just read.

Somehow, I must have missed that. I haven't flashed anything just yet; I was hoping that would do the trick before I went to flashing a rom. I downloaded the free version of titanium last night but it wouldn't backup, saying that I didn't have busybox. I downloaded busybox afterwards but it had a few warnings right at the beginning that I wasn't sure about so that's why I went with backup pro. I just checked into install manager but it isn't in the market.
With the help you have already given, is there a set of instructions for the nandroid backup process? I'm kinda interested in xtrROM but want to get all my ducks in a row before I flash it. Thanks for the help! Appreciate it!

BusyBox is included with any custom ROM, another reason it's just easier to flash a ROM like xtrSENSE or xtrROM as you mentioned, although with Apps2SD under Android 2.1, you need to backup the entire contents of your SD card, repartition it to include an Ext2 partition and 0 (zero) Swap, and the rest FAT32 as normal. All can be done from Recovery.
What method did you use to root? I'm assuming that whatever method you used installed a custom recovery. To make sure you do have a custom recovery, turn the phone off, press and HOLD the volume up button and press the End button long enough to turn the phone on. Keep holding the volume up button for a few seconds longer. When it goes into recovery if you have Amon RA recovery it should say something like amon-ra-eris-1.6.2 at the bottom.
In Amon RA recovery, reference http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648025 there are these menu options:
Use the trackball (up+down) to navigate through the menu, press the trackball to select items. Use the Volume-down key to go back to a previous menu.
Reboot system now :: reboot your phone
USB-MS Toggle :: enable/disable USB mass storage (use when the phone is connected to your PC)
Backup/Restore
Nand backup :: Make a Nand backup, the following partitions are NOT included :
Recovery (to avoid restoring old version)
Cache (no need to backup imo)
Misc (no need to backup imo + restore issues on some phones)
Splash1+2 (no need to backup imo + restore issues on some phones)
Nand + ext backup :: Make a Nand + ext backup
Nand restore :: Restore a Nand backup
BART backup :: Make a BART backup (Nand + ext)
BART restore :: Restore latest BART backup
Flash zip from sdcard :: Flash a zip update file from your sdcard
Wipe
Wipe data/factory reset :: Wipe /data and /cache
Wipe Dalvik-cache :: Wipe Dalvik-cache both on /data and ext
Wipe SD:ext partition : Wipe the ext partition on your sdcard
Wipe battery stats : Wipe the battery stats in /data
Wipe rotate settings : Wipe the sensor settings in /data
Partition sdcard
Partition SD :: Interactive SD partitioning
Repair SD:ext :: Repair the ext partition
SD:ext2 to ext3 :: Convert ext2 to ext3
SD:ext3 to ext4 :: Convert ext3 to ext4
Other
Fix apk uid mismatches :: Does extacly that
Move apps+dalv to SD :: Moves all apps and Dalvik-cache to sdcard (This will NOT enable apps2sd!)
Move recovery.log to SD :: Moves the recovery log file to your sdcard. (Use when you want more detailed recovery log information)
Power off :: Powers off your phone

To make a nandroid, just choose the "Backup/Restore" menu with your trackball, then choose "Nand backup".
The Market search is quirky. Here's a link to Install Manager on the market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.beidl.chooseloc.
Install Manager or anything else having to do with Apps2SD won't do you any good without either flashing the Apps2SD script from recovery, or flashing a custom ROM that includes Apps2SD.
You can find the most important information via links from the Eris Roll-up Thread.
Thank you very much! A huge help! I used the 1 click Eris root.
Flashed xtrROM based on your recommendation and so far its pretty rad. Really smooth and quick too.

[Q] Avatar movie on custom rom, will it work?

Im about ready to take the plung and change my phones stock 2.2 rom for an ICS rom. I think I'm gonna go with ICSlim but I have a few questions first.
1. Will I be able to transfer over the preloaded movie that came with my phone?
2. The steps for installing ICSlim are not very clear. It mentions first updating to a CM9 rom first before updating to ICS, does that sound right? Can some one give me a simple run down of what I gotta do from after installing CWM?
3. Can I get memo and swipe on ICS?
4. If something goes wrong during installation is there any way to recover from it? Does vibrant have something like NVflash?
1. Yes and no. Yes, the movie Avatar will remain on your SD card after upgrading to ICS. However you will not be able to play it.
2. Yes that's partially correct, however I believe you meant CM7. For a detailed break down of the installation process go here.
3. Yes, you can get them. To download Swype you must register as a beta tester here. It's very simple to do and only takes a couple minutes. Once registered you can download and enjoy Swype all over again. You can download the Touch Wiz memo app here. Instructions are included in the .zip.
4. Yes. Before wiping data or even installing a rom in CWR, do a nandroid backup. Here's some simple instructions from the noob guide in the Q&A section...
Clockwork Recovery / Nandroid Backup!
Reboot into CWR (both volume buttons held in) while booting until you see “Vibrant'
Once there, go to Backup and run that. Should take about 5 minutes, maybe more.
If all hell breaks loose, this is a snapshot of your phone at that point... it's important to do this before flashing a new ROM!

not so sure about ics now...
After reading about the encryption error I dont think Im gonna move on to ICS after all.
Instead I'm just gonna fix up the stock rom. What are some must do things I should do to get my phone running fast? I know there is an app that removes the preinstalled crap from my phone but I dont know what its called. Anyone know the app Im thinking about?
Also does rooting your phone mess up the play store?
And what is the lag fix? I have seen it mentioned in a few other threads but never took the time to read up on it.
There is a Stock KB5 ROM in the development section. Also a few other Froyo 2.2 ROMs you may want to try.
I don't know of any de-bloater for our devices. You can always purchase TB and freeze them. My Slim_Ryder ROM is about as non-bloat as your can get for Froyo.
Rooting does nothing to play store. I do think it effects the Play Movies.
Voodoo Lag Fix -
In a nut shell. Samsung decided to use a $hitty as filesystem called RFS. A Voodoo lag-fix kernel can convert these RFS file system into EXT4. Much faster the RFS. This Lag-fix is only used in Froyo and Gingerbread (non CM / MIUI) roms. CM7 / 9 (or any ICS rom) uses YAFFS file system. This also requires the ICS kernel to repartition the entire device. Due to this fact if you ever flash CM7 / 9 / ICS / MIUI and want to go back to any Froyo / GB rom you must Odin back to stock with repartition checked.
Hope the info helps
Ty
Thanks for the info, the lag fix stuff is a big help especially
Is it true.....

still looking...
Still looking for the app that uninstalls the preinstalled apps on the vibrant.
You can do this yourself with Titanium Backup or any file explorer that has Root. They are in /system/app.
Sidenote: Before you get uninstall crazy, one of the benifits of TB is that you can Freeze and app. This lets you see if there are any unintended consequences by not allowing that app to do its thing. If all is good, then you can uninstall. Make a TB backup first though in case you ever want to reinstall.
Once you get all those bloat apps gone, reboot to recovery and wipe /cache and the advanced>wipe /dalvik-cache and it will clean your phone of anything those left behind. Will/should run snappier too. I actually do this from time to time to keep my stuff clean.
Just download the extended blu ray version and tada.
Its free (illegally)
