Remote view one android device from another - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been searching around for this for a while, and haven't come up with anything google or xda or otherwise, however, if I am blind, enlighten me please
I am looking for a way to remote desktop my android phone (atrix) from my honeycomb tablet. Preferably over LAN, as I only really do it at home but not really close enough for bluetooth, however with bluetooth I could make do. Something like what the atrix can do with the dock would be nice.
Any Ideas?

Are you rooted? Vnc viewer on one and server on the other would work

Has anyone used this adapter to get their bolt to TV?

saw a review that it worked for the sensation.
To the best of my knowledge, the tbolt does not have any programming or chip to send the video out through the micro usb port. So the piece would not work as it would get no signal from the phone

totally agree with the logic of its native programming to not have such a feature but is it possible for a application to be downloaded that could make one? maybe if its rooted anyways there might be a app.
I know you said no DLNA, bit I've been using skifta and it works great. Check it out. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.skifta.android.app

I don't think my TV has dlna or wifi capabilities. What other options are there to play rented movies from Google videos on my bolt to the television. Don't have an Xbox or PS. Just phone, laptop, TV.
Stumped on this one. Last resort is checking to see if your digital cable provider (if you have one) has an app that will allow
media sharing via their DVR or cable box. I have Verizon FiOS and their app let's me share pics and video through my DVR into my TV. Limited, but it works.

Seagate GoFlex Satellite 500gb Wifi Hard Drive

Has anyone got their hands on this?

I'm wondering how well it plays with our Evos. There is also an android app released for it.
Yep we sell em at best buy all the time and I was able to snag one with accomedations through my job. Its amazing how easy it works and you can stream right off your hard drive to your phone. Just turn it on, creates its own hotspot and you connect to it. Its great.

that's great, the comments I've been reading on Amazon are generally negative, they all complain how the iOS app is nothing but a giant alphabetical list of all the music and other media, not divided into albums or artists etc.
How good is the Android app? I'm mainly interested in stock music and video apps on Evo, can they connect to this drive seamlessly and fluently? Does it appear like a network server to them?
well download the app and get a work around it. The interface isn't as clean as I'd like, but it gets the job done. You actually turn it on and then connect to it through your networks settings like your connecting to a network. With most things it'll download for a second to stream but then play right off the hard drive.

Saw it the other day and realized that with real use, the battery is probably going to be toast in under 3 hours....
i just got one of these. the battery lasts pretty well so far. the best thing about it by miles though is that it's built from a tiny linux server running on an omap3 cpu.
you know what that means right?
i'll give you a clue.

I had one of these for exactly one day. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it would not. At the time I was using an Acer tablet that had a USB port, so I didnt really need it anyway.
But I will say that it worked horribly for me.
I've been wanting the air stash, uses SD cards and is pocketable(size of a flash drive)

I'm dumb. What does that mean for us exactly? Can we mod it and creat custom operating systems for it?

See this (Splashtop HD is the best):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1413949
Try Teamviewer. It's free.
Splashtop HD comes installed with your prime, you just need to setup the server on your computer.
Go into the mycloud application then hit my desktop on the left
+1 on the preinstalled mycloud. it is splashtop

I have been a longtime user of the paid app GoToMyPC for remote access to my desktop computers from my various laptops, etc. Just recently, they made an app for the Androids. I installed it and it worked fine - on Honeycomb. The upgrade to ICS broke it.
You probably wouldn't want or need GoToMyPC (it's expensive), but as a business tool it's great, very fast, and secure. I hope it doesn't take them too long to update the app to run with ICS. I will be one of the users.
I used Teamviewer. It's simp and free.
Teamviewer is also awesome and even better is that its free

i tried the splashtop that comes with it but it would never connect to my computer, even though it saw it. maybe i'll have to try it again.

Did you install the streamer component for Splashtop on your PC? It will not connect without it.

Has anyone tried an Android Mirroring cable?

Saw this video about android mirroring but wasn't too sure if it is useful. This cable will be going on sale today but I have not heard of anyone using a cable like this.
http://www.theverge.com/2012/1/10/2697184/j5-create-juc600-android-mirroring-cable-demo-video
I guess one of the benefits would be to hook your phone up to it at work and pretend to be working on the computer while you are actually texting or playing poker. I dunno.
i used to be able to do something similar over bluetooth or wifi a few years back, but i have yet to find the program i used, and i will assume you would need to be rooted. its a cool idea in many ways, but its use i feel is more of a cool or sneaky factor.
Yeah, I am hard pressed to find a really good reason to buy one. Being cool is a good reason though.

Now there is Airdroid in Google Play. Free app that does not need root and is very cool. Works over WiFi.

The root method your probably thinking of is called screen casting using droid explorer. Pretty useful if you work in a strict office environment.

Turning my photon into a nexus Q

Ok so I've got my deactivated Photon and I'm repurposing the device as an Android media player. I'm basically trying to make it a nexus Q/Google TV like device. Looking for suggestions on how to best achieve this. I would like to be able to control the device from my phone (Note 2) as the nexus Q allows you to modify it's music queue.
Some background: phone is unlocked, I'm using an HD dock to connect to my TV or stereo.

Buy an HDMI Cable & download an airplay server app from the market (the is one like that)
and an AIrplay Client
Hdmi out on my photon always looked terribly pixelly. I almost could not stand it but mine is locked so maybe custom roms and kernels fix that issue.

Thinking of doing this on a 32" bedroom TV. How are you all controlling it, do you just set up whatever video you want and then plunk it into the dock, or do you have a wireless keyboard/mouse?

Well that's one of the things I'm trying to figure out. If I can get it to behave like the Nexus Q then I could control it from any Android device. Unfortunately I have yet to figure out how to accomplish this.
