Im Currently running Bamf 1.8 remix
android 2.2.1

kernel - 2.6.32.21_bamf_4.4.7 - g21c0620-dirty by adrynaline @1 (sat may 7)
build - 1.13.605.7 das bamf remix 1.8
software build - 1.13.605.7
Is there any dramatic reason i should change roms or update to something newer? I enjoyed Bamf but they are gone and their website i swear hasn't been updated with new roms in a long time...
any points in directions of what to do would be sick
new better kernels?
better roms?
better radios?
etc etc
THANK YOU

If I were you, which I'm not, but follow me here...
I'd follow the link in my sig. I'd flash the MR2 or higher radio and make the switch to Gingerbread with Synergy. I was a BAMF disciple and Virus and Co. switched me over to Synergy.
They pump out nightlies every night or two and they're all stable enough to be daily drivers.
Gingerbread is where it's at and Sense 3.0 will make your head spin.
You can thank me later!
Gingerbread with Synergy pretty stable? gps....voicemail...txting lol...web browsing... the essentials?

The only thing that is not on ANY Gingerbread build is VM notification. BUT it's not like it's that hard to dial *86 or speed dial 1 and hear the prompt that reminds you no one loves you.
At least that's what happens to me.
Lemme get some screen shots of my Synergy set up for you. I'll post another post in a couple of minutes.
alright thanks bro

Should I be using that "Stock Kernel" that's listed, or is the kernel in the ROM good enough to use? That looks pretty amazing though from the screens.
I'm running Gingeritis 3D Beta VII with the MR 3.0 radio and it seems to be running pretty well.

Well I'm on the MR3 Radio and I use the kernel baked into the download. It's from Ziggy and we're the only ROM that he gives his permission to use his kernel. He makes one of, if not the, best kernels out.
There are other backgrounds you can use. I use that one because it's orange and green for my U!!! []_ _[]

My front facing camera works just fine. I use it for Skype on my Bolt regularly.
First:
Download the MR3 Radio (which I'm on) from here:http://devious-intentions.info/modules.php?name=Downloads&cid=6
Scroll to the bottom and click the "Download" button.
Second:
Download the latest nightly from the link in my sig.
Third:
Check MD5 sums of both files.
Install:
1) Flash Radio via Hboot
2) Go into CWR, wipe 3x (data, cache, dalvik and battery stats)
3) Install ROM from SD
4) Reboot and enjoy.

Ziggy also supplies kernels for Chingy's Gingeritus ROMs, which is who Virus got the new base that Synergy is built on. The Ziggy kernel in Gingeritus is largely the same as the Synergy kernel and is certainly one of his better kernels. Not all Ziggy kernels are winners since you just can't tweak a kernel every night or 2 and actually test the thing.

Yeah a nice simple boot animation is fine. That stock one was tacky awful.
My fiance is a graphics designer... that means she is picky about visuals.
She isn't happy with any themes in the market for the launchers, nor themes she has found for the ROMs.
Long story short, she wants to help build a theme. Possibly for ROMs and GO launcher/ADW.
I really don't know enough to help her out, and of course she really doesn't know how to theme. So she is willing to work with anyone that has experience in getting a theme put together.
Basically she needs to know what elements are themeable, dimensions needed for the images, proper file formats, and any other pertinent info. She can do all the visuals, she just needs help packaging them into a working flashable theme.
Anybody interested hit me up. Goes for you too Scott... Maybe we can hook you up with an awesome custom theme for all of your ROMs.
Side note: I managed to get an image file (the ROM logo) to act as a hyperlink to this thread. Its just so... big... think you could make a smaller version? Something about a couple inches long.
Side note 2: She is already online looking up info and taking notes. Help is always good, and the actual turning it all into a working theme is still something that needs another's help.
This is running awesome on stock kernel. Nice work Scott!

PM sent your way
Heading to town atm... be back an a few hours.
I apologize if these have been asked. I will be ordering an Hp TouchPad very soon. I will put Cm9 on it.
What is the best way to do this?
What rom should I use? I am looking for performance, ease of use, features, and battery life over 6 hours with moderate usage if possible.
How do I adjust the bootloader?
And finally what apps or downloads do I need?
Thank you!

read them. Kinda helped a bit... now I have some more questions.
What ROM should I use?
If you suggest a ROM, can you please give instructions so a two year old, who has flashed a few ROMs before, can do this?
How do I install CWM?
Just ordered my touchpad for $167. Also got 5 screen protectors and the HP Fitted Case for $30.
This will be my first tablet, excluding a few windows 95 wacom ones and one MID tabled that i threw out my window.
I need a ROM with WiFi working out of the box, er uh out of the flash.
Personally, if you want the most stable, I'd go with the CM9 Alpha2. It doesn't have a cam or mic, but then again, nothing Android has them.
Other than that, it's really simple. All you'll need is to read the thread at http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18843-releasealpha2-cyanogenmod-9-touchpad/ and follow the instructions - everything is there. Download the files it requests, put them on your touchpad's media folder from WebOS in a folder called "cminstall", then reboot into flash mode (power and vol-up when rebooting), and run the commands it says.
It's super-easy, takes about 5-10 mins, and you're golden. Downloading the ROM will be the slowest part of it.

There are more than a few roms available to the TP's, I use the unofficial cyanogenmod nightlies. Some have more problems than others. Many have wifi issues, but I've never had any.
Go to the unofficial cyanogenmod thread, the directions there are very good and simple and easy to follow. As for the cwm, do the same. The instructions are also easy to follow, a lot easier than if I wrote them.....
If you need a rock solid rom with no issues, you're better off using WebOS. Remember, all the android stuff is Alpha. I use webos about 50% of the time. It's a great os, and has much, much better battery life.
Gonna try cm9 alpha 2.
Should I install this too? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23009531
Seems like a good idea and I understand it. For the cm9 alpha 2, do I use the latest cwm? Thanks!
Sent from my Galaxy Note on At&t
It's completely up to you if you want to use that or not. I used the 1.2 myself back when I wasn't on the nightlies. I am going to try the 1.4 on my tablet once it finishes it's encryption and see where I go from there.
Ok ill use it. One more question (for now...)
Can you link me to the Alpha 2 download? I have "update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-Touchpad-alpha2-fullofbugs.zip" but the "update" and "fullofbugs" parts makes me feel like I got the wrong one. and it took about 30 seconds to download.

update at the start allows the ACMEInstaller script to use it (all files that it uses require that designation at the start). The fullofbugs part just reminds you that it is an alpha build, and that there will most likely be bugs in it. It is just their way of letting you know this is nowhere near a Final level release.

Personally, I run the latest nightly from Eyeballer's thread. And flashing it is the same as flashing Alpha 2, only you put that update instead of the one called alpha2. And you flash it from the command line using the ACMEInstaller2 script.

Seconded. The CM9 Nightlies may be better at some point, but since they change every day, it is a bit of pot luck.
Apps are your choice, but I am generally rather disappointed with the tiny number of tablet optimised apps. They are usually marked HD, and often cost (more). Of course phone apps run fine, but they do not really use a tablet to the full potential, and are sometimes a bit clunky to use.

Boy Oh boy Oh boy. This is an amazing device. Not sure why people diss this so much. Android runs amazingly. Thanks everyone! I'm running cm9 a2 happily!
Though I am having one problem. When I switch to portrait mode the icons and Widgets shift to the left. Can this be fixed by changing my dpi? And what should I be using? 120 or 160
Sent from my Galaxy Note on At&t
If you're on 160, that's because of the way that the orientation works it. It puts an extra row on the side when you switch to portrait. Not quite sure why.
However, the latest nightly builds (I noticed it as of 20120402) allow you to set your number of columns / rows on your homescreen (when in landscape - when it goes portrait, it does the same thing).
Don't know how well it looks at 120, but at 160 it isn't too annoying. Especially since my tablet almost never goes portrait, unless I'm reading. I'll let someone more experienced answer this one.
Oh no. I think I broke it already! Went to install the 1.4 mod pack from my Roman manager app and it shut down and now shows this... restart button does nothing... help!?

FIRST OFF!!!!
Credits for the Per App Density go to molesarecoming, with the creation of the PARANOIDANDROID Rom. I used his github source! Credits for the ROMControl mods go to the AOKP Team, cause all I did was copy there source and modify it to do the job...
With that said, I have been working on some other projects and I haven't been updating this much any more. So I sorta slapped it together with all the new updates as a patch and figured I would share for others to test/try out, use and/or mod.
I also want to get this out of the way and I apologise if this comes of rude, At this point consider this like one of my random posts and I can not confirm I will continue to support this!
With that said, the explanation in short is "I highly respect the Developers for not only what they do but what & who they put up with!"
Known Issues:
1. Moving or Having apps on sdcard will cause random acore force closes.
(I personally do not move apps to my sdcard so I haven't even looked into)
2. Rebooting through the TabletUI prompts actually reboots to recovery.
(Simply choose I'll reboot later and reboot with your standard power menu)
3. If your build of aokp has Launcher2, chances are it will force close in tablet mode.
(I have or will provide a Launcher2 you can flash as a separate zip if this occurs)
There May be Others!
BEFORE FLASHING!!!
Move any apps you may have moved to your sdcard back to internal! (See Known Issue #1)
That's aboout it! This also should be somewhat universal but only tested on aokp build 37 and the 37 glitched version for the fascinate. If you flash on something other and it's confirmed working please post so others know. And as always me too...
My apologies if your experience isn't as great as mine...

What's the best way to install this? i followed what KaptinKrunk said, but then it just looks normal. I don't see any tablet mode or anything. Is there an option somewhere?
Edit: Ah, nevermind. Realized it was in AOKP settings, lol. Idiot, I am.
Edit 2: Now that I got it up and working. Questions. How come when I open my app drawer its a 3x3 scale? And the app icons look large and disgusting compared to the rest of the rom?
Also my keyboard looks like it's been zoomed in a lot. i can only see the top left part of it. Any other hints i should be aware of?

Bugs??:
KNOWN ISSUES:
Videocamera : Use VideoCam Illusion
Slight Lag possible on screen transitions
USB tether
The graphics related issues are due to not having proper drivers to use for this. Don't ask for an ETA on a fix. Moto won't be giving us the drivers, so there is no fix

What type of fwipe you did and what ROM you came from
Have you restored any data from something like Titanium Backup
What app is misbehaving and what you were doing when it started

I tested this for a short time. Has a really nice boot animation. Just be sure to follow instructions and flash gapps...else you'll have no home button...LOL
So this isnt really a problem but just something that I noticed. When I put beautiful widgets on my home screen it leaves a space up top and doesnt fit all the way at the top of the screen.
Edit: So.... thinking that this was actually an issue I flashed back to my nandroid backup just to realize that it has always done this. :/ haha

Has anyone had any soft reboots? My son was using toddler lock and the phone soft rebooted right back into the app...just fyi ill see if I can reboot but I had to nandroid back to cm7 as I need the full function of the phone plus I found that the multi touch issues in games like wild blood still exist. Otherwise this is my favorite JB rom besides pacman maybe this with pa functions? Lol just a thought thanks for everything you've done...one question, have you looked into perfecting a cm7 rom? Just figured I'd ask

LS is good stuff. It's got a fair amount of options for being as small as it is (95MB or thereabouts, it's about the size of a GB ROM). I forgot to install Gapps and I got about what Bill said would happen. Wasn't that bad, just a little tricky to get around. Installing Gapps, of course, sorted it.
It didn't really do anything above and beyond any other ROM I tried, so I flashed back to PAC Man. I'll have to try King Kang next.
I love sleek ROMs I'll have your gsm info for both the next two days

No problem bill. Its the least i could do.
So take this with a grain of salt if you would, but....Ive got a concept im working on atm, a photon original of you will. Say i ever finish in a timely manner, where would u recommend the project be hosted. Huge WIP, but you really have inspired me to get back into development and basic coding, while its a steep learning curve from where i left off, i think im moving along fairly well, thanks to all you've done for this phone. I might be keeping in touch to maybe ask a few questions here and there, but we'll see. Thanks a bunch bill!
Ive Pac'ked my bags, and am on my PacMopho. *Cheers*
Quick question, what do the notification toggles look like. AOKP, CM10, or CNA? Or can you choose between them?

I think Aroma makes people like me feel like we have a part in "building" our own rom. It's an awesome revelation the last year or so. Having said that, it's also cool to have a stripped down, no-thinking-needed rom like this.
thanks for all you do!
Thank you so much!
I have tried all the cleanroms and the stock roms you've made Scott. I don't care for Aroma much so all these roms have been perfect for me!
I'm so glad there are TW rom choices. Thank You for that!! Each new cleanrom is better than the last.. so many choices We really need a dual boot for this phone. BTW the new radio works good for me no problems. Thanks again for all your work. Loooooove it!
I didn't see it in the description, does this ROM unlock the stock wifi tether like your prior ROMs?
I did not notice it in the description either, but, i turned it on and it went into "checking subscription" and turned on. With Verizon, when i upgraded from the HTC Thunderbolt to the Note II, they kicked me from my unlimited data, so, i wont be using this function much. Glad work issues me an Android with unlimited (rooted that to while i was at it).
I don't have Hot Spot on my subscriptions, but, it turned on.

If you don't have unlimited data then the hotspot is included in your plan.
A hotspot widget will still work however data drops will ensue if you're on unlimited data. Still recommend using the wifi tether for root users.
I'm having a few instances of on screen soft buttons being unresponsive.

I always use the app Wifi Tether instead of the built in one, because it seems to give me higher internet speeds. Works perfectly with this ROM if you use this version with these settings:
Device-Profile: Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)
Setup-Method: Netd-Ndc (master)
Send Netd Max Client Cmd: check
Enable Wi-Fi Encryption: check
Change Passphrase: enter new password
WiFi driver reload 2: check
Routing fix: check (default)
Disable update check: check
Disable wake-lock: check (default)
Overall this ROM is great! I got it setup the way I like it and then odexed it using the Modaco "Odex Me" app. Really couldn't be more pleased with it. Signal/reception is as good as with any ROM I've used. Same for performance and battery life.
