Beautiful widgets sense skin install problem - Wildfire Themes and Apps

Hi folks,
I have beautiful widgets installed on my wildfire. I downloaded a skin from the internet called airporttwo and placed it in sdcard/data/beautifulwidgets/scskins. Works without any problems. And now comes the fun part. I wanted a sense skin for bw so I downloaded SenseUI from the xda forums. I placed it according to the instructions in the /beautifulwidgets/skins folder. But bw doesn't find it. So I place the skin in the /scskins folder. This time bw does recognise it, but when I apply it it says that my skin is corrupt :S any way to fix this and get this theme working? Causd I'd really like to have this skin working. I'm using the 4x2 superclock widget and bw is updated to version 3.65.
Thanks in advance

Are you sure the skin you downloaded a Superclock skin? Can you link to the thread here where you got it from on? (Just wish to see it, I am a FW fan over BW. )

Skin download doesn't work on cracked versions, from what I have read about it across various websites. So, if you have legally purchased it, contact the dev.

I dont think thats a Superclock Skin, so, remove your existing BW widget, then add a new one, but, dont add a Superclock one. Add a normal clock. (I think its called BW Home, if I am not mistaken), and try looking for the Sense Skin in that particular widget.
As far as I am aware, Superclocks are different from the 'ordinary' clocks, and hence, skins are different for them as well.

Still not working :S any other suggestions?

That skin is for the Beautiful Weather Home widget, that's why it doesn't appear when using superclock, and that's why it says its corrupted when placing it in scskins and using it. You should place it in the skins folder and, as I said, use Beautiful Weather Home (or sth of the sort, it is another Beautiful 4x2 widget). If it still doesn't appear in the list of installed skins, try downloading any other weather home skin from the app, and then the SenseUI skin should appear properly. That worked for me!

It's called Fancy Widget. Just google it and you should find it easily. The latest version before discontinuation was 1.3.0. Hope that helps!

[MetaMorph] Transparent Lockscreen (com.htc.resources.apk)

This is a Metamorph for a transparent lockscreen that was made by request for a friend. This is intended for a deodexed stock mytouch4G ROM (2.2/2.2.1). This will modify com.htc.resources.apk. Most likely this will crash your system when applied. If not, reboot to see changes. Ive been seeing an error when using metamorph to extract, it does not seem to find the theme file. All files extract and you will be able to apply by selecting "Pick existing theme".
*NOTE* This works when applied using the safari theme (thanks for the feedback). I'll look into modifying other themes... eventually. Requests will be considered.

Hmm I'm using your rom and it worked fine for me.. I extracted it on the computer, put it on my SD in the androidthemes folder, and then went to pick existing theme, apply all.
Has anyone been able to get rid of the lockscreen wallpaper? To show the homescreen? I've tried old methods, but they don't seem to work in sense 2.2 stock or modded roms for the n1

Same here. Running Ice but can't get it to stick. Good idea tho. I like it.
EDIT: Sent .zip to sdcard. Let Metamorph unzip. Still FC's my messengers while applying then nothing.
If you remove the htclockscreen.apk and .odex from your /system you'll get a transparent lockscreen... Albiet with the stock froyo lock but I prefer it anyway

So after trying this, the text on the lock screen doesn't line up correctly. All 3 lines of text, the date, the time & T-mobile all overlap. Is this supposed to be used with any of the lock screen themes or a specific one? Anything else need to be changed to get it to align correctly?

So this is just a transparent slider for the lockscreen?
I'm assuming theres no way to make a fully or semi-transparent wallpaper?
I know most icons are png's, which support transparency, but I'm not sure (and highly doubt) if a transparent png file would retain transparency after being set to be the wallpaper? If I had to guess I would think the file is converted in some way before it is actually applied...
I wonder if there is a way to bypass this and allow for transparencies in the wallpaper?
Though this works, it doesn't look so good since its transparent and the text overlays whatever is on the first screen. It would be nice if the lockscreen background could be honored by the stock froyo lock. Or at the very least, a solid color or black background.

Transparent images won't set correctly, from what I've read about other sense ROMs, you'd have to hexedit the file, changing the color to transparent... don't know if it would even work. There are lockscreen replacements, like lock bot, possibly some others. Wish there where better options... the ROM in general lacks the basics for most things I want to do... which is why I currently run the desire HD port by gr8gorilla. The ROM has been ported to a lot of phones, so there is quite a bit of mods and themes available.
I'm curious what features. Are you referring to stock? Does the desire port have working drivers for everything? I thought FFC (camera) was a problem as well as video playback. Iced is what I'm currently using and its rock solid and can overclock.

Sure. I forgot to mention that these widgets (at least the weather widget) will not work on GB roms. They were lifted out of Asus tablets which came with HC but will work just fine with ICS roms.
If you have GB rom. You can stop here and decide if these widgets are worth awhile for you to upgrade.
If you have ICS you can read on.
First, you need to get a root explorer app. I use the RootExplorer but any app that will let you access root folders will do.
Move the weather and deskclock apks to /system/app folder. There should already be a deskclock.apk in there so you will want to either make a copy to another location (for safe keeping) or just rename the one that is in there as deskclock.apk.tmp. Now move the new apks into this folder.
Next thing you need to do is to change the permissions of these newly placed apks. You need to set them rw_r__r__ (r_read, w=write)
Reboot and now you should see the weather and deskclock widgets as selectable widgets.
Enjoy.

Hit the menu button while in the editor and go to settings; there you will find the option to either enter your location (ex. Los Angeles, CA), or use auto detection of location. Hope that is what you were looking for!

Try Make Your Clock Widget https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hubalek.android.makeyourclock.pro and tailor clock widget that 100% meets your needs.
Free version (with less elements) is at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hubalek.android.makeyourclock
More info about app at http://www.makeyourclock.com/
Comparing to UCCW it consumes less battery and some people find it's interface more intuitive than in UCCW.
I have the samsung Galaxy player 5.0 as well and I use Beautiful Widgets this is a paid ( 2 bucks ) widget but well worth it. They have also added a web site so you can customize your own clock style and background for your widget.
Yeah, get Beautiful Widgets, find a good clock skin, make it's background transparent, use the battery instead of the weather icon (you can still check weather by clicking on the widget), enjoy.

How to Make Sense 3.6 Look like 4.0

Didn't quite see if there was already another thread like this but.
Here is the link to the post which includes the download files. I've tried it on my EVO 3D CDMA. Note that you MUST be on an ICS rom with Sense 3.6 , Not a de-sensified rom.
I do not take credit for this. I am simply linking you to the post and instructions.
I am not responsible IN ANY way of bricking your phone. YOU flashed your phone. Not me.
Link-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26885319&postcount=1068
Instructions are there. You Must flash the sense_4.zip . Flash it through your recovery. Regarding S-On users. I don't think your S-on status will affect your flash.
_______
Tested On: D3rpICS, ZR3DX, MeanRomICS, CleanRom ICS.
I installed the zip then rebooted then installed the skin, but the skin is not appearing in the personalize menu.
It only affects the Dockbar, not the scrolling, not the App scrolling. just, the dock bar

Does this actually work on the EVO? Given that its for the Sensation XL I just wondered if it actually worked...
Keep getting installation failures.
I messaged the guy who originally made that mod for Rosie, he said he doesn't think it can be applied to the EVO 3D due to different screen resolution. It was originally made for the XL. If someone were to mod the mod itself to work with our qHD resolution, it'd probably work

If you click on the thread linked in the OP, it leads to a posting that includes 2 files to download:
Sense_4.zip
com.htc.skin.SpaceshipEarth-1.apk
Notice the name of the files...
This is an old thread. Doesn't work for us Evo 3D users, If you want a skin that looks like Sense 4 I recommend Sade Skin. Quick Google oughta fix you right up.

Doesn't work. The skin never shows up.
^ Thanks for the clarification. I hadn't tried this yet myself, so I assumed it was a matter of oversight on not downloading the file. In any case, might be worth checking out the Sade Skin that Jim pointed out.
EDIT: just checked out the skin on the Play Store. Only a 4.0 rating. Numerous complaints of it slowing down the phone. No thanks!
Guess I will stay clear of that one. Thanks

No phone slow down, 4.0 probably because of those countless idiots that do not have Sense 3.6 and keep downloading it. Just check the reviewers devices.

I got the skin to load and display in skin chooser by changing the version number in the manifest xml. Anyways, the dockbar did not change when I applied skin. So now I'm on the task to see if it's possible to theme the 3.6 dockbar to look like 4.1?? Any help or point me to right direction would be appreciated.

Some ideas:
1. Edit the png to have transparency on the sides and look like the 4.1 bar in the middle. It would take trial and error to get the sizing right and you'd have to be careful if it's a .9.
2. Make it transparent and then edit the wallpaper to have a faux dock. Of course you'd have to do that for all the walls you use.

If the png is in the res folder than you don't need it to be licensed, but if it's in m10 then you do (or it will get watermarks). But yes, VTS will work.
