Hii Androiders ... I have this rom .. Coderom v1 KPH .. with a2sd ext2 sd card partition ...
I want to flash another custom rom like FirstUA or coderom2 or gingereal ... without loosing my Apps on internal , sd , ext2 ... ?
please help me how to do it & change ext2 to ext4 ?
... & advise me which is the best custom rom for performance & quadrant score ??

Hey!
Hey you LAZY one ! Did you looked in HERE? There is ALL you answers what you need, just search little!
Install Titanium Backup(better if pro version) and backup ALL you apps and system settings. And for SD, you not LOOSE anything until you not FORMAT you SD.

The issue is not lazy or not ... i searched a lot but .. i didnt understood anything about backup .. using CWM or titanium backup .. NO one developer mentioned anything about wiping sd , foramt sd .. and the problem that i have to format the sd to change from ext2 to ext4

Hey!
Just put you SD card in to card reader in PC and do the FULL backup from you SD card to you computer. Then format you SD. After format put back your files from PC to SD card. Thats all!

make a backup,format both ur ext2 and ur general sdcard and that will be unallocated..after u format it,ur sdcard will just have one partition,so creat ur new general sdcard and ur new ext2..

u can use titanium backup..press menu,batch,backup all user app with data..done..tell me if it wont work

guyss i really need some help.
I have been using CM7 miks 6.5.7 .and DT a2sd together for some time! It seems after a couple of days use, the sd-ext partition stops responding. This morning i rebooted once and found out that Gallery is not working "sd card unmounted or not present" error... and I cannot download any stuff from browser (dolphin) .it shows not enough memory available. I experienced similar problems with the earlier CM7 builds also. evrytime it happend i thought the problem might be from my end. reinstalled the rom and evrything went prfct.BUT now i seriosly need a solution!
tried to manually unmount and mount the sd card, but the problem is still there.using root explorer i can easily browse the sdcard content and use rest of the applications on sd-ext but a few apps which use system resources stop responding with errors. E.g Hi Q mp3 recorder does not work, sd tools wont wrk "Error reading buffer"
i am an ardent follower of this forum, jst dat i dint find any thread based on this prob.thats why need ur help devs.

its a problem with a2sd ,install clean switch to s2e from market it works wonders ,Had the same problem earlier but after switching to s2e no issue.
format ur card using panasonic sd formater and install rom fresh with s2e ,u will never face such probs if problem persists it an issue with ur sd card

okkkaayyy....got the idea... but had some questionss.. like what is this s2e stuff?..and what do u mean by "install rom fresh with s2e " ? do i need to remove a2sd partitions?...wipe evrythng from internal memory too?

P.S one thing more... just a few minutes ago i kept a full backup of sd card on my pc , formatted the card using a card reader, copied back all the stuff to sd, inserted the mem card ,rebooted and its working fine now ! found this trick with some googlin but that is not a Permanent solution i guess ... is it?

Partition your SD card. ext primary partition, 512 mb / fat32 primary partition. download link2sd and you can move to sd card

YUP its time for u to ''ROOT'' your phone... (google for its advantage and disadvantage)..
IMP THING FOLLOW EVERY INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY NEVER LEAVE A STEP IF PROBLEM ASK..
Also Better upgrade from 2.2.1 froyo to gingerbred 2.3.4 (official for india) or to 2.3.5 stable than 2.3.6 (not tested) [ i will recommend 2.3.4..

u can make the partition ext2 (FAT32),ext3,ext4 type...
u can check by using card adapter properties what partition u did... (in mini tool u choose the type and in clockworkmod 5 its ext3 type)...
get link 2sd from market... open click on the type of partiton u did ext2 ext 3 or ext4...
read it will ask for reboot .. click ok...reboot..
open ...
change settings as described in the mini tool partiton guide.....

"partition " u mean
u can partition your sd card using cwm 5 ...they are many you tube guides go watch them ...and for installation of apps on sd card why dont u use "S2E" ...its free in the market and compatible ONLY with cm7 ...it saves a lot of internal storage ( move dalvik cache to sd card) cheers
Edit: you should remember that cwm will FORMAT your sd card!!! backup your data first!!!!
