With 2.3.4, has anyone noticed bluetooth audio failing after some amount of time? This is happening when I am trying to stream music using my car's bluetooth.
I do, but it was fine until I went to CM7.
Yes I have had problems with Ford Sync and Slacker after Gingerbread. Switching to the .97 radio has helped both with this and dropped calls. I flashed the radio sbf. Be very careful and be sure you know what you are doing. I believe flashing a radio by itself is ok (and I have done it more than once) but many have hard bricked their phones using RSD to flash things after Gingerbread update. (you can find the radio by searching the forums if you want to try)

I've flashed PWGB and am loving it so far. GPS finally works and phone and battery are great. However I haven't had any luck in using my car's bluetooth stereo controls to apply to my phone. I can stream music no problem, but my dashboard controls are unresponsive. they were working back using CM7, ComRom, and stock. Any fixes out there? Only detraction from an otherwise great rom.
Also could anyone tell me how to mute the boot/shutdown animations as well? Thanks.
the only issue that I had with pwgb and bluetooth was that the audio wasnt very clear coming to me. I have found that all the 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 builds seem to have the same issue.
What I have found is that the phone seems to prefer to find the stereo rather than the stereo finding the phone. My alpine will fail everytime if it initiates the connection before there is a pairing. if I search and connect from the phone its butter
Okay, figured out it was one of my apps causing the problem and it persisted in my Titanium backups.
I find that piano comes off distorted from my bluetooth player where there's none using radio. Though this was a problem when I was on the froyo roms as well...
Does anyone else have a problem with eclipse and bluetooth? I use a bluetooth stereo headset to listen to music and after a few minutes it cuts out and I have to reboot.
I use Bluetooth in my car and it works well. Not sure if its the same for headphones though.
Eclipse 2.0.2
I just sbf'd back to 2.3.4 and installed eclipse 1.3. going to see if that corrects it
I have a bluetooth stereo and I have disconnect issues as well on gbp7...not sure what the deal is, but I think it's the stereo cause the phone shows still connected and the audio doesn't get rerouted back to phone. You don't have to reboot, just toggle bt off then on. Plus the problem is random.
I never modified anything with the bt is why I think it's the stereo, but I ciudad be wrong. Ima try to get a log and see what the deal is.

So far music hasn't cut out...I believe it has something to do with v2.02 or the 2.3.5 update
2.03 is out now...
Maybe that will help ur issues?

Not to bust this, but on my end at least, I know I didn't mess up updating the device.
and the Eclipse 2.0.3 update does not change anything to bluetooth..
But I found the Problem.
By chance do you use Google Music as your default music app?
Anyway, I do and the problem is with that app(or maybe its in another setting which I doubt cause the problem persists on GBP7.)
Explanation:
I use a Bluetooth cd player in my car and I use google music to stream to my stereo. Every now and then I lose sound output on my CD Player(although both show connected). The problem would arise whether it was playing local music or streaming from google music. At first thought it was my phone, then I flashed Eclipse to test it out for a lil bit and the problem persisted. So I moved on to thinking it was the Stereo. Well, this morning I was at work(still am..) and I was listening to my music via ear plugs. I ended up getting a random "stop" although the music progress bar was still moving... I changed songs and still had no output. HERES THE KICKER!! I turned the volume up with the keypad and BAM! the sound started to produce out of my precious ear plugs....
I haven't had time to test this with the bluetooth stereo yet, but the problems had IDENTICAL symptoms, so I'm assuming this will work.
The random MUTE of the app is odd, and very random. Sometimes it wont do it for HOURS and then sometimes it will do it every 2 minutes or so. But for now, try to increase the volume(you can do this while screen is off if using Google Music, not sure about others) and see if it solves the issue for now. I will look into it and test with another music app(probably winamp) and see if the problem arises. If so, then I'll look into the system configuration and see if the problem is there. I know I didn't change any bluetooth settings in my ROM, and I haven't noticed any changes by Nitro in Eclipse. So this leads me to think its an APP problem.
I use juice defender and other custom settings for battery life, but I know for a fact those aren't the problems, so if anyone reading this looks into the issue, the problem is either Google Music or in the system configuration. So don't go looking into Juice Defender or other apps to be the problem.
Disregard...I am blind
Like stated.... It's not another app interfering.... Dsp manager is not on gbp7...

I havent seem to run in to anyone with this issue.
I pair my phone to my car stereo fine in the stock GB rom. Play music and talk on the phone endlessly.
But with any ICS version so far, even official. It causes reboots, randomly.
Am I the only one suffering from this?
Not the same, but something similar.
I can connect with my car stereo, have to do it twice (once for music streaming and once for handsfree). Once connected, i can stream music fine. Even the controls on my steering wheel work. When I receive a phone call sound is muted and i can talk fine as well.
After I hang up the phone, the music doesn't come back, only a 0.5 second stutter every 2-3 seconds. On my phone, in the music player I can see that it's my phone that has the problem; the visualisation displays exactly how i hear the sound.
This behaviour also occurs when I turn off my car and turn it on again.. there doesn't seem to be a single thing that i can do to get music to play again, just some fiddling usually gets it to work (but then i have to stop my car first before i can have music..)
If anyone has any ideas for troubleshooting let me know!
I honestly think ics has compatibility issues with certain bluetooth devices.
We can only hope they realize this and take measures to correct it.
Gingerbread is flawless.

Just a notice that this seems fixed for me now.
I've upgraded to the 4.0.4 Rom found here: Click!
Next to this i'm using the app "doubleTwist"
ICS talks a different language then gingerbread when it comes to A2DP, especially for the play/pause commands, which seem important to me..
A2DP issues
I find I have similar issue. I have a SONY bluetooth deck in my car and my phone will lock up and force restart mid song or mid phone call.
Anyone have any ideas apart from flashing that 4.0.4 Rom
Scroll down I resolved other problem, but I have another now lol.
My 2012 Yaris stock radio bluetooth will not let me adjust the volume on my radio when I am streaming music.
When I use anything with sense on it, it is okay, but when I try using ASOP or anything without sense; it is not
Suggestions?
Did you try reflashing the ROM after a full wipe?
Thanks! That worked!
I just need to figure out why my car volume for music streaming through bluetooth isn't working
Would you know? ^_^?
EDIT: It was working with the HTC music player no problem, but when I switched to liquid; my phone uses google music now, so that could be a reason. Any ideas how I could switch to the HTC music player or some other one to set as default?
Do phone calls work through Bluetooth?
Typically when you flash/re-flash a ROM you have to re-pair the phone to the car. The car will most likely remember the phone but you would have to Allow the car to read data from the phone.

Yeah I re-paired it. Still no good
I have a 2012 Yaris with a stock radio that has bluetooth. I am going to try a ROM with sense on it and see what happens.
Going with InfectedROM eternity to see first.
EDIT: Okay with sense the streaming works no problem and my radio says streaming audio, but without sense or on liquid; my radio only says BTA
I don't know anyway around this I really like liquid too!
Okay, so I somewhat figured out the problem.
My phone running on liquid does not let me put the "pairing code", so this might be stopping my phone to directly connect to my car stereo.
Any suggestions on fix?
So, I'm having a strange issue with my new Note that I can't quite determine where the root cause may be, or if it's a known issue.
If I register my Note with my car as both a phone and an audio device (how the Infiniti nav/stereo works) I can use the Note as a phone fine UNLESS I start an audio app, such as Pandora. Once a2dp audio starts the Note will no longer connect as a phone device, but it works fine for audio.
I had the phone paired with the stock ATT rom but only used it as a phone, so unfortunately, without a restore to stock, I can't tell if the problem exists with the stock rom.
I flashed to flappjaxxx's rom (which I love) the same day I setup the phone to run Pandora via Bluetooth and that's when I started seeing the problem.
I also see some random connect/reconnects that seem a bit more than usual.
So, I can't say there's a correlation, or if this is a known ICS beta issue or what, but I'm hoping it is and that it's not a design flaw
Way I see it it's either:
1. Flashing to any ICS beta rom has the problem, currently?
2. It's in flappjaxxx's build (doubtful)
3. It's user error...(possible )
4. It's an app issue (ie. Pandora is causing the problem?)
Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions or insights? I've done some searching but haven't found this exact issue yet on any posts.
Thanks!
I have a Kenwood DNX9960 in my Avalanche. It connects also for phone and for streaming media. I can be streaming media from either the stock music player or an internet site like pandora or TuneIn and my calls will automatically come through. When the call ends it goes right back to streaming.
It autoconnects to both as long as my phone is in range when I turn on the kenwood. I did have an issue at first where it would not autoconnect. I deleted the pairing from both my phone and headunit. Then when I repaired I paid close attention to check any boxes to "Always" allow connection and I haven't had any issues since.
I understand the normal pairing process, I've had several phones before that worked fine prior to the Note. So, I'm thinking that it is probably a corrupt bluetooth db... I'm going to be reflashing to Flaps new rom and we'll see how that does
Is there a way to delete the pairing from the nav? I would try that
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
There is. I've tried it all, on both sides of the pairing.
I've reflashed the phone to the B6 from FJ, still no joy. The pairing db was new (so no chance of corruption on the phone) and the pairing deleted on the device.
It seems to be a problem with the phone switching between a2dp and phone bt. When a call comes in (while playing say Pandora over bt) the audio cuts out and then the car shows "disconnected" and then "connection failed" if trying to reconnect to the Note as a phone (ie hitting the phone button in the car).
I'm hoping it's the current ICS build. Just have no way to really know. Hoping some other folks will have seen the same issue.
Going to run some tests with different audio sources and see if the behavior is the same.
Well things seem to be working now, for no obvious reason I'll have to assume that the reflash resolved the issue, I just can't tell for sure why it didn't work immediately after. I think it's due to deleting the old pairing on the car and not shutting down the vehicle.
Cheers.
BT connections
I have similar problem connecting to van audio system (vauxhall). After some experimentation it appears to be an ICS problem, if I reflash my note with gingerbread I have seamless connections for both audio and phone. As soon as I upgrade even with offical ICS bluetooth connections become problematic, I can pair but not autoconnect. Tried samsung and they just "fob off" with it's an incompatable device. Until a bug fix is issued it appears as though it's a choic of staying with gingerbread and have a working system or ICS and no handsfree.
