here was the problem i forgot to take pancakes out of the box , works now ! boot to I9000 screen too ! rooted and deodexed bloat free
biggest trick was to find usb connector on the toaster ........so i could odin back
Yeah, but how is the battery life?
battery life sucks why ?... because this rom is a port of my kitchen stove and parts mocrowave , and its european version on top of it .
what's the quad score?!? Is it toasting faster?! Do I have to take the toast out before I flash it??
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
quadrant is 1700 stock , toast in while flashin is ok , speed is awsome since is ext4 partition , as for modem it download s 7 kbm/s if u drop the toast in fast enough it download with 14kbs top / wipe cache partition before bootin saves whales ! i mean battery life
Holy hell

Does anyone know what the OTA does/changes? I would hate to apply it for no significant reason and cost myself a chance at root in the future.
Not until Leo, tmartin, toast, or haus says so. They are working on root

So in other wordss, don't apply it??
HTC EVO = my best friend
Do not apply it unless you want to wait for root.

You and anybody else saying that is just as useful as me saying if you take the OTA, you wont have to wait.
At this point everything looks like its just pure speculation, nobody knows for sure.
When would you ever apply an OTA~ I don't recall a situation where it was a good idea LOL
Can't watch the Green Hornet until I update the software. No thanks.
I didn't update mine yet and it played green hornet just fine. It's a shame they didn't put a better movie on here it actually looks pretty darn good. It's the most impressive 3d content I've seen so far on the 3vo

Where did you get your phone, Best Buy?
I applied the update and now my phone shortcut is missing from the lockscreen and the app drawer. I searched online and apparently it's a common issue and HTC is working on yet another update to fix it. Apparently the first OTA update allowed you to connect to the phone via ADB.... so it looks as if they MAY be in the process of unlocking the bootloader for us.
Either way, there are a few small bugs to work out.
I wouldnt apply the OTA.. i know that its not confirmed it will do anything to affect root. However my understanding is the devs working on root didnt do it and im not going to either. Id like my phone to be as similar to the ones they are working on as possible just in case it matters.
On top of that i dont see any problems from not installing the OTA.
Too funny. You guys say you don't trust the OTA but you trust the software that came on the phone to begin with? Anyhow, HTC put out an update for a reason- it fixes things that are broken. If you want a partially functioning and buggy device, do not apply the update. If we had root I could see why people would be so concerned about losing it. However, we do not have root and who knows when we will. So, if until then you want a phone that works properly, apply the update which probably isn't going to change a whole lot in regards to your ability to root.
So if I did apply the update I'm f'ed??

OTA - KIA my 3VO
The OTA has screwed up my phone. It is stuck in a boot loop; I was able to go to the bootloader but the factory reset did not fix it. I am headed to the store to swap out my brand new phone.

Nope. Its all speculation at this point.
mine worked fine did you give it some time?
I'd hold off on updating for the simple reason HTC is trying to fix their last OTA lol
My phone arrives Monday but I'll wait unless theres a bug that is really bothering me, otherwise I can hold off. If you want to update for the sake of updating then don't whine if it prevents you from rooting later.

not likely, they said they are giving us root .. i kinda believe them since i doubt they want another backlash like they had

apparently you need ten posts. and i am not cool enough. i just wanted to ask how to stop cm7 from what i have nothing else to call than bootlooping when i connect it to my computer. it loops the droid arrow after connecting to my computer. then i battery pull and my theme is changed on the screen , but not changed in theme changer . just wondering how to stop this.
Idk what would be wrong, but if you reply to this you'll be one post closer to asking in the cm7 thread which youll have better luck of getting a solution there

I think what he/she was asking is are you plugging it into the computer and then turning the phone on when this happens?
not at all. that would make no sense lol

I dont know whats wrong, but just because its rooted, does not mean you cant return it. If its a hardware issue it will still be covered. But it sounds like maybe a bad battery

No prob. I would try stopping by your local carriers store and see if the have a battery laying around to test, or it u know someone else who has the phone try theirs. If its not the battery, post back and we'll go from there

I have heard this issue alot on xda, and i'll say its pretty much bricked, if you can't turn it on or get into the bootloader or recovery tmobile/wind/htc wouldn't be able to, other people with the same issue said they got it replaced with no problems, so you got nothing to worry about
Buy a new battery.

OMG another one
Its not bricked dude, its a battery failure. See my thread, I've got the same issue, its solved by replacing the batttery..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561104
You can call up HTC North America [email protected] 866-449-8358 if you are in US, they will ship you the battery free of cost.
When I called them up they asked me to ship the phone back, however I had also had unlocked the bootloader voiding the warranty, so I took a chance and told them I tested the phone at local tmo center it works with replacement battery (even though I hadn't)...they said no need to ship the phone then...we'll have the battery sent out to you...and it arrived in 3 business later although I had to wait quite long as there was weekend in between...
BTW what ROM/Kernel/recovery combo were you using before it died ?

We can't blame NRGZ's ROM for it, as its the most popular ROM for this phone and to my knowledge just the ROM can't cause such a bug, the kernel might (even i'm not sure for that but still)...can any devs (Adjust? ) give their opinion on it ?

lol, just mentioned him coz he also mentioned he had this same issue and is a dev
Need help
Yes this is in the wrong fourm but its hardware so it may help
@Mod please do excuse me
I just got my friends ray and it has a display problem
The thing is ; The display lights up but nothing can be seen on screen :/
After shaking it a bit it SOMETIMES shows the display
No cracks or anything on the display:O
Any fix ?
Im guessing its hardware but ill just use wotan server for a try
EDIT; Used wotan server flash .238 didnt work >_<
EDIT: Sometimes when I remove the battery when the screen goes dark and put it in again
And it works fine :O
But then it starts again :/
So its hardware for SURE 100%
Any fixes ?
Has he damaged it some way (dropping it?)?
If possible, use warranty, else open it yourself and seek for loose wires.
There aren't any visible signs :O
What i was thinking is Deliberately brick the phone during Software update and say it isnt starting
Should work
No root
Locked BL

What if there is some sort of circuit shorting? If the problem is physical...u can check the battery terminals for any fault...or may be it is due to moisture...now don't think of me as a fool...its just my thought...so try some kind of drier to demoisturize...hope it fixes the problem if my assertion is correct.
Weird advice...isn't it?

I think most moisture problems are permanent. Everything is worth trying though.
