I am assuming you have installed CM7 6.6.1
Try installing the more stable CM7 6.5.7 and then flash the latest franco .32 kernel. Nobody has wifi problems with it and neither should you.

actually i am running CM7 6.5.7 and 43 v19 kernal

Is the problem with your Wifi network? Did you try connecting to the same Wifi network through another device like your laptop? If there is no problem with the Wifi connection, then in 'Wifi settings' set some different 'Channel number' and also set the 'Wifi sleep policy' to 'Never'.

thank you for the reply, i used to connect to the same network before installing CM7 using the stock rom from LG without problems, and i tried to change the Regulatory domain to 11, 13 and 14 but they all failed

Usually helps when you are connecting to your WiFi and not one of your neighbours'

Can you mention here the ROM and kernel you're using? Please provide the exact version number for both. Because, if you're using Mik's 6.6.1 and Franco's latest .35 kernel, you should not be facing this issue.

Yes. I used 6.5.7 the previous week and found it very stable. Now I've flashed v6.6.1 and find it more stable and smooth than 6.5.7. With franco's .35 kernel the phone now works like a beast.

Just to make sure that the problem is not at the level of the WiFi router I would re-install the ROM that you had before (or restore nandroid backup if you have one) and confirm that you can actually connect.
My first guess is that since this is a Workplace WiFi network, the admin might have blocked the MAC address of your phone.

Actually i did install my old stock rom and it worked normally, but when i install CM7 i it only works on my home wifi and nowhere else

If it works at your home, then obviously no problem with the phone. It's either the office Wifi connection or the admin might have blocked it. You're supposed to work in office and not browse

yes, you should be able to use gprs on miks rom both v6.6.1 and v6.5.7. See the channel logs for this rom on the 3rd post. As far as I know, data and gprs will not be available if you have the new baseband installed (v20 something) since the roms are for v10.

1. you can't get the old baseband back if you are already on v20.
2. it is not built in on any ROM, it is flashed via update on the PC
3. You can opt to do so... usually yields good results when flashing a modified kernel over the original one given by the ROM's creator (i.e. mik's CM7 uses franco's v18 in one of his builds which could be updated to v19 and the experimental build uses franco's gingerbread kernel.)
Quoted from Mik:
Q: I flashed rom and GSM don't works. What's to do?
Q: I have new baseband, how fix gsm? (you have new baseband if you upgraded your phone to official 2.3.3)
A: Flash this: gsm fix (support for new baseband, this is not baseband itself).
WARNING: Data don't works, wait for new fix.

yup it doesn't make sense... you can switch to mik's, you should not have the new baseband. You are already using ROMs that are using the v10 baseband, you don't need to worry about anything else.
Read the first few posts of the ROMs threads to understand what the roms are and what you need to do before flashing them.. again... READ... can't stress this enough since I myself am getting sluggish at it.

Who knows... These people flash random 5 ROMs a day, stock Froyo, then custom GB, then stock GB, CM7 and in the end they go complain about no data, blaming the ROM.
As said on the howto, the LGMDP utility will always tell you which baseband you have (v10?/v20?)

[Q] USB/Wifi Tethering not working? (openOptimus build 2.202.1)

OpenOptimus is currently the best ROM i've tried so far on my LGP500, and I would like to stick with it, but USB & Wifi Tethering does not work!
When I try to activate USB or Wireless Tethering from Settings, It goes on and then right off again and I get a tiny "error" message..
I use tethering as my main internet connection on my pc, so this is a major problem.. Is there a workaround or a fix for this?
Is this a problem with the rom, kernel or perhaps the baseband update?
Will flashing another kernel cause problems with openOptimus?
same problem here, try to download open garden tether from market it work for me
Sent from my LG Optimus One P500 using XDA App
This worked somewhat ok, but the tethering fails to turn off properly and the phone freeze when I do so. The same case with other tethering apps from the market.
[EDIT]
Flashing the latest franco kernel fixed the issue with 3rd party tethering apps.. I am now able to turn tethering on and off with the "Open Garden Wifi Tether" app..

franco v1 ?
--- 2.6.35.14-franco.kernel-gingerbread+

don't know if it's kernel or ROM problem, spend a few hour goggling for an answer
but couldn't find one myself
i re flash the v1-16082011 kernel and no problem with using the open garden
I'll try flashing the kernel version you're using then...
Can I use other kernel versions, or perhaps other kernels like the PaoloM70, without getting conflicts with the openOptimus v2 rom?
How to fix the built in acces point? The third party apps can only do ad hoc mode while the built in is infrastructure mode
Its a kernel problem flash paolo v6 kernel it will work

Wifi and USB tethering dosn't work with Official GIngerBread and its Derivatives like OpenOptimus,Aga bla bla with the Franco kernel.
it seems it works with the Paulo Kernel.
open Garden works fine, but when u turn it off it screws around. i used to use 2.3.3 v20g Romanian Firmware and yes ofc, after i use it (open garden) the Battery used to die like crazy. a Reboot Solves the Problem here.
i dont know for sure if it works with the Stock Kernel.
but if u compare Official GIngerbread and its derivatives to
CM7 or Andy's Phoenix
its totally Rubbish in all the ways.
