i installed a new rom it seems to have the new gmail and for some reason (in spite ot titanium backup having backed up my apps (sys and user) the old gmail isn't there
can anyone please share the apk before google locked it down? was only a week or 2 ago iirc

Hi All,
I have this China Android Phone Star A9000. I was removing lots of bloatware but did not perform backup (mia cupa). I'm using RootUninstaller to do the task. I'm mistakenly remove application that handles SMS.
Any chance anybody out there can help me restore back the application. Any APK or backup APK from RootUninstaller will be great.

I purchased an S5820 Samsung Ace in Shanghai. It was the only one that I found that could work on China Mobile's 3G service.
Used Amazon.com for apps and downloaded a ton of apps from freewarelovers.com
Only problem left is that there is : I can get my gmail in the mail app, but I cannot sync contacts or my calendars because it doesn't give me Google in the accounts list.
They have all these chinese providers there: KaiXin, and RenRen, as well as Skype as possible Accounts to ADD but NO Google...
Anyone have any ideas?

Phone is Samsung Ace S5820, a special version made for China Mobile... I doubt there is anyone that made such a special rom...

In the Accounts, there is an option for Exchange / Active Sync account…
Username is: m.google.com/[email protected]
Domain is m.google.com
You have to let it fail once or twice, then it will give you the option to edit the username and domain, which it will have totally screwed up in the process.
I had the same problem, i resolved it by rooting, loading clockworkmod recovery, backing up then using CWM installed from a sdcard zip file one of the following from

i am new here in the forum, I would like to learn a bit how the android operating system works and to fully utilize my tablet.
My tablet is upgraded to Android 4.1.1 from oficial website and i can't use contacts because it is not an application for it, in /system/app the only application related to contacts GoogleContactsSyncAdaoter.apk v4.1-392829. Then i can't use mail applications (gmail, standard mail app) because when i try to write a new message it doesn't appear contacts. With other standard smartphones i can synchronize contacts with my google account and use it with mail apps without problems.
You know well the android operating system. How can we fix this problem?
I don't know how contacts app works (internal databases involved, other services involved...) i would like to know about it and i could test with my tablet if you help me.
I think if we find solution to this problem might help other users with this tablet.
On the official site have asked several people about this without getting any response.

Contacts.apk working again but on 4.0.4 firmware
we have installed previous firmware version 4.0.4 from yarvik and it we have now contacts.apk again, we had to install AppDrawer to create shortcut for Contacts.apk (it is hidden) and now it works ok for creating, synchronizing and managing contacts correctly.
The problem is that now we have old firmware version.
¿Do you think it could be possible save
Contacts.apk
ContactsProvider.apk
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
from version 4.0.4 upgrade again to version 4.1.1 and install this 3 apk after upgrading?
Do i have to save other *.apk for this to work?

tested other Contacts.apk, ContactsProvider.apk and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk and received message "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped", all tests are on the following link:

I uploaded all the files needed for the update to 4.1.1 on my blog. Also I have a post on how to unbrick it. Blog: ( toastedc0re[.]blogspot[.]com)
So, I could only view my last 25 emails with the stock SGS4 email.apk, and well, thats stupid as hell lol. So, I tried to install the stock AOSP apk files, but, now, whenever I try to open email, it freezes the phone for a little and says exchange services have stopped responding and email has stopped responding.
So, if anyone can help me a) install the AOSP email app or b) Install the stock email app (i dont have a backup unfortunately)

Bad things happen when you don't follow the forum rules.
But, to answer your question:
(Assuming you're rooted/stock) Download a stock ROM and take the apk out of it. Move it to your /system apps. Restart.

I've got FouadWhatsapp and in 1 week from now I move to a new phone.
I've seen something he post on his telegram of a problem on backup&restore chats, but I could not understand what he want me to do there.
I did backup in the Universal settings and copy the folder to my desktop(the folder called fmwhatsapp and not whatsapp).
I searched a tutorials at youtube and google but everything I found is old and not updated to the last mod.
What should I do when I receive my new phone?
