I will give this a shot, although I am coming up with error windows not even seeing the device as being plugged in.

This does not work for a "bricked" Atrix. If the Atrix is "bricked" then USB will not recognize it. That has been my conundrum since the beginning. My Atrix is bricked because I tried to go back to Froyo from Gingerbread. Apparently there is no recovering from that.
what do I do?=(

I bought my phone online and I'm using in Australia, took to phone service and they said they can't help as it's from overseas!
what do I do?
wait for a way to unbrick?
send to motorola "US"?
cheers
That looks like a hard brick! Anyone please correct me if I am wrong, but there is no way of fixing that yourself. Sending to moto us is your best option if you want it fixed
(There is some chatter about a factory cable, but I would suggest a more experienced persion to also give their opinion before you do anything)

What you don't do is create another thread basically asking the same thing in another forum. Merging this thread with the one in Q/A. I feel sorry for your brick, so no infraction given, as I understand one can get desperate when dealing with a hard brick, however, it is what it is and nothing can get done....
Thanks guys, I did hard rest but the phone not showing on windows pc.
maybe the factory cable be an option but I heard we need to have sbf files!?
and also, I'm still under warranty can I ship the phone from Aus to US to get it fixed? how??
Thanks again
Hi Matthew
Seeing u as a same local. Have u think of going up to 2.3.4?
Maybe by flashing using sbf files? Then....
Cos I'm thinking of getting a atrix.
Bored by the gs2.
i can get to the nvflash recovery mode tho, but what that can do?

You'll need a factory cable to flash, however, the files to flash have not been made available so it's not very helpful now

So I need to wait?
how about this :
briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-system-boot-file-sbf-leaked
Nah. sbf files are for RSD, nvflash (nVidia flash) require a different file and app to flash
argh...
So we just have to wait....
I've heard about some other hardwares that can be plugged into the bricked device and make it hard reset/factory reset?any ideas?
I have the same problem here... :S

Youre already in fastboot mode. Simply follow the instructions for using fastboot to unlock. This is not a hardbrick and is a normal part of unlucking phones on 4.5.91+.

this programe has the fix of your problem. RUN the 'MAIN.bat' in the file. I do not remember its number in the menu but the menu will lead you to solve the problem. It must be 'FIX 105:1:2' or something like that.
Hit the 'thanks' if I helped

read the whole thread. the answer should be there.
I would flash ClockWorkMod as recovery.
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager (search for Atrix 4G)
I prefer the Touch version, much easier to use.
Then just flash with fastboot:
fastboot flash recovery <yourImagePath>.img

Also, check out ePinter's CM10 (not the 10.1, it's not that stable), which you can flash from the new recovery. Don't forget the Google Apps package (install AFTER the main image).

Allright so I have a 16GB nook tablet and it has been bricked. So bricked that I dont know how to fix it. I have tried to use a bootable SD with repart.img on it several times, including reformatting and recreating the bootable SD. It goes thru the whole process, and then powers off. When I power it up, it says "installing your new software" hesitates for a second, and then gives me a screen that says something to the effect of "Your new software could not be installed. Please restart and try again". The frustration is incredible. If anyone has experience with this, please help. If not, Devs get at me as I will donate my paperweight so that you guys can figure out how to keep people from dealing with this crap. Thanks.

Can you boot into a CWM or CM7 SD card?
Sent from my Slider SL101
Havent tried I just assumed that if it could revert to stock, it wouldnt do that either. Ill give it a try. Link to a good one?

Try to flash a new ROM internally using your bootable CWM SD. It's worth a shot, and it might give us more information.
Just a thought...what happens when you just reboot without an SD Card? Does it give that error message every time?
When did you buy your NT?
They all have a 1 year warranty (unless you bought the extended warranty) and you might be able to just go into a BN, say that you tried an update and something went wrong and now it won't boot. Provided you bought it less than a year ago and the manager agrees (in the store it's up to the manager, if you try online you can probably get it right away) you can get a new (well, reconditioned) NT.
I've done it, and it worked. New one works great.
Yeah tried it. The manager was a ****. I took it out back and filled it fulla .308 lead lol. Thanks guys for trying to help

So I have my new HOX+ (AT&T). I got it boot unlocked, perma rooted...and the first thing i tried to modify was the fonts using the "font installer" app. Well this turned into a fiasco. it installed the font...showed a whole string of *insert Asian language characters here* on the status bar, went into a reboot...and never came back again. It boots to the White HTC splash screen, and just hangs.
At this point, I can reboot into TWRP recovery...but for whatever reason....my recovery isn't present. I don't know what i screwed up...but it isn't there. So I wiped everything...now I need an OS. Preferably a factory ROM....but I don't think anything exists yet for the AT&T model. And how can I get it on the phone!? I come from a world of GS3, where Odin could save the day...
Can anyone help me out/point me the right way?

Wish I could help. I know how much your situation sucks. It's one of the drawbacks of hacking our device. The carrier or company will obviously not help since its our fault. Hopefully you got it working by now.

Still "softbricked".
I cant get my machine to recognize the device when it is on TWRP with the storage mounted, so I cannot get a zip file on it to do anything.
This is what I get when I launch into TWRP with the device plugged into my comp.

So the device wont appear under "My Computer", therefore I cannot copy any .zip file to the device, therefore, its a brick.

The phone was not bricked. Bricked means it doesn't respond at all. Similar to attempting to use a masonry brick to make a phone call. Since you were able to get to download mode it was not bricked.
If Odin did not work, did you try Heimdall? Did you try a different cable? Computer port? Mobiletechvideos can repair a phone in this condition for less than the price of a new phone.
I'll pay shipping costs if you want to send that useless piece of junk my way.

Since you want to keep your data, try to get into download mode and flash a kdz.
If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you are gonna have to do a "hard reset" (factory reset/data wipe).
May you provide me with a good tutorial for doing it?
Here is one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
If it doesn't work, just use Google to find another one.
I will tell you about the hard reset, if you want.
I am problematic - and some alternative because I cannot install stuff on this PC - some portable version of LG drivers? I cannot find

Nope.
Get an admin to install it.
No way around it.
Unless you want to try the hard reset, which doesn't need a PC.
But you will lose all your data.

Even better!
That is meant for LG's engineers to see if your phone is rooted when you sent it in for a fix under the warranty.
If it says rooted, they will mark warranty void and won't fix it, unless you pay them.
Anyway, it let's you flash no matter what it says there.
So go ahead and flash the kdz.
Okay, cool for me.
I already started it but
1st I am not sure which version I have, can I check it somewhere
2nd the tool shows that my phone is disconnected

Make sure that the cable is good.
The older it is, the more likely it is to cause issues during data transfers.
My suggestion?
Get a new one.
Or, you could borrow one from a friend, but make sure it works on data transfers, not just charging.
I made 2 kdz flashes but the phone still bricks. Rescue data, but all in all install Lineageos- CM RIP. Thank you!
