[Q] Powerwashed - Battery charged beep disable? - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm on the latest Powerwashed with the PBJ 8/4 kernel. I've noticed that the phone will double beep (chirp?) when the battery is fully charged.
I've tried to mute it by changing the notification sounds to "silent", but that didn't appear to do anything. Is there a way to disable the beep?
I noticed that the Powerwashed changelog has "Removed full battery notification", however I assume that refers to the pop up window?
Thanks!

how long should the email notification icon stay in the notification bar

When I hear that I have an email but do not get to my phone, for say 10 minutes, when I do get to look at my phone there is no notification icon.
Similarly when I wake up in the morning, there is no notification icon but I often have new emails.
How long does the icon stay in the notification bar and is there a way to make it stay longer?
This is not confined to the Bionix-V ROM I am currently running but has happened on others.
Thanks in advance.
Have you had this issue even after ODINing to stock software and reflashing a custom ROM? I have never had any issues like that. My notifications stay on the screen until I check them in the app.
The last couple of flashes I did (Nero v4 - Nero v4.1 - Nero v5 and finally Bionix-v) I did not use ODIN. I did ODIN before I flashed Nero v4
I guess you are suggesting a flash back to stock via ODIN.
I'll give it a try when I have some time.
Thx
I have my email set up to check every 5 minutes and it appears that when if I have a notification icon it will only last for 5 minutes because as soon as the phone looks for an email again it deletes the notification icon. Is there a way around this?

Wifi not toggling on?

Anyone else having issues with the wifi toggle button on the notification bar?
It works fine to turn wifi off, but keeps erroring out when I try to turn it on. This regardless of whether I turned it off from the bar or via Tasker widget.
I wonder if this is related to the GPS toggle bug.

ROM, Radio, and Kernel?
i used to have this too.. that was with stock ebo1.. then i went to superclean, it disapeared, then superclean 2.9.1 it came back, and with 2.9.2 it appears to be gone again.. weird.
Im on sc 2.9.2 and i have the same issue. I just reboot the phone reboot the phone and it works. Or i just use the main settings to turn it on and off

FWIW I'm on SC2.9.2 (modded), imnuts -50, and EB01 modem... But I think it's something in the basic Froyo framework. The GPS issue is, I believe, across ROMS.
Fixing permissions seems to have corrected it. I'll update my mod post.
I have the same issue, with the debloated/deodexed froyo and the EC10 kernel (and had it prior to EC10).
Are you saying you never see the problem enabling from in the menus? The log output shows it's failing when it attempts to load the driver, so I wouldn't think it would matter how it was toggled?
Very annoying. I started a thread on this as well a few weeks ago:

How to deal with Absence of LED Notification

I realize that the SGII does not have the LED Notification and this is a feature I have loved from the Blackberry to the Motorola Atrix. I even tried to switch from ATT to Sprint for the new Touch 4G SGII with Notification LED but Sprint sucks in my area but the screen SOLD ME!!!
Anyway now that ATT will have the SGII I plan to get one I love the screen but how are you getting past no notification LED. I don't want to constantly be powering on the display to make sure I haven't missed an audible notification. Does the SGII offer ab option for a recurring notification sound? Just don't want to walk away from my phone while its charging and miss a message. I have one of those jobs where I am required to respond to emails in 15 minutes....
TIA,
Earthdog

Why not use a kernel with BLN. That is what i use as a substitute.
It turns the buttons into notification lights.
Search BLN in this forum, stands for Blacklight Notification. Some Kernels support it. It uses the back and menu button as a blinking indicator
NoLED is another alternative. It works without rooting.
Do note that NoLED will drain your battery like crazy if you don't "confirm" the notification.
The phone will not enter sleep-mode while a notification is going on. For me: rather useless. For somebody else: might just work as expected
I've used both BLN and Noled.
BLN will drain my S2 no matter what. I prefer Noled as it flexible and allows me to configure my notifications to my likings to minimize battery drain.
I use BLN and I'm pretty happy with it. Battery life is still very good, can't even tell if BLN drains that much. Haven't tried NoLED so far so I can't really say anything about it.
I use NoLED. I have noticed on occasion it has drained the battery somewhat, but I usually access the phone long before it becomes an issue. I like the fact that it uses custom icons for different events.
Tons of apps on the market that can play sounds at a certain period, reminding you of missed sms/calls/emails. I'm not a fan of led notifications, i'd rather use sound notifications.
Ninpo's kernel is BLN enabled and can be used with any samsung ROM. Install free version BLN controls app and you are good to go.

[Q] LED lights in CM nightly build #13

I was wondering how these worked, right now I have it enabled. Whenever I miss a call the bottom buttons on the bottom light up (menu, home, back...) and they do not go away until I clear the missed call notification. I was wondering if this is the way it is supposed to work? all there is to it? are there any settings where I can make them blink? I was thinking it would be more like the app noLED.
I'm sorry if this is a N00b question with an obvious answer, I have searched but can't find the answer.
thanks for any/all replies!
That's referred to as BLN (BackLight Notification). Its supposed to light up for missed calls, texts, emails, or any other notification. Its suppoed to state lit up til you clear it. What you are describing is expected behavior. There is an app in the market called BLN something, to manage it, built for the Captivate. There is also an app called blinky that worked on the captivate to make them blink.
In theory it should work better than NoLED, it should take less battery and processor. It hasn't been implemented in the stock based ROMs (for the S II) because it causes the phone to not enter deep sleep mode (as does noLED). It must be new to CM7. Hopefully if it doesn't cause a wake lock in CM7 it can be ported back to stock based ROMs. This is the last feature I was looking for in the custom ROMs for this phone.

Yes what he said above except Blinky and BLN APP will not work for cm7 on the SGS2. Cm7 has its own setting to control it. You can disable them if you don't want to use led notifications from with the settings or CyanogenMOD settings.
Yes it creates a wakelock until you clear the message, missed call, etc. Then the wakelock goes away. Also there is a timeout for the led notification that can be controlled also.

[Q] SC3 Milestone2 + KGB - How to disable full battery vibration notification?

Hi, I'm on Superclean 3 Milestone 2 with the accurate battery mod (found on page 1 of the SC3 thread) and KGB kernel, and my phone vibrates every time the battery charge is full. Is there a way to disable the vibration notification? Does the KGB trickle charge option have anything to do with it?
Thanks!
