Just saw on a chinese forum that a case/stand is being sold in China that's designed for the TF. The cost over there is 88yuan.. approx $13-14 USD. It looks sturdier then the official one. I hope it'll get listed on ebay soon!
I'm really hating these cheap "leather" cases I'm seeing for tablets. Its mainly the huge "frame" around the screen that I'm not liking.

Thanks, looks interesting. If it is cheaper than the ASUS case, I might give it a try.

I get what you mean and I am all for a < $20 solution, but I also dont want something that is going to add 50% more weight/size to the tablet. Plus a lot of the "leather" ones that I have seen are the very cheap type of "leather" that is more "plasticy" and will fall apart fast. This is not my experience with this exact product, just with other products like it. Its just disappointing that there isnt better cases available for the transformer yet. Its really to bad we dont have a "smart cover" type option like the ipad has. That is pretty slick and I am definitely not a apple fan.
I'd buy this for $20 in a heartbeat.

no luck...as there is no magnet built in the TF that links to the power circuit like IPad2...so will never happen perhaps that next TF model maybe....if want to pay premium...wait for PDair or Tuff Luv....genuine leather with good quality....coming soon end of May

There might be possibility using the slots for the clip that support the keyboard dock. Something that clips into there and covers the tops/folds. Maybe the magnets are in the cover if there is enough metal in the surround of the TF.
CaseCronw is releasing standby case today and it looks promising..i see that the other cases they sell for other tablets have gotten pretty good review.. i just wanted to get some opinions before i jump on this..anyone else thinking of getting or ordered it already?..

Looks nice and under $20. Assuming this is fulfilled by Amazon like their other products, I might have to pick one up.
edit: There's a video in the reviews for the iPad version. Looks great! Tight fit and very thin.
http://www.amazon.com/CaseCrown-App...Y8CR6S3G5&s=electronics&qid=1308957186&sr=1-1
checking out shows $26.56 with tax and shipping.. can this item be fulfilled by amazon at some point? i think i still might jump on this, its still cheaper than most other cases.
Damn, I'm tempted to get this. I've been wanting a good case and I already have a carrying case by case crown. But Roocase's case seems like a better option because its multi angle.
Ill probably pull the trigger on this sometime this week. I just want the thinnest stand case possible. The multi angle is less important to me than being thin and light. Most of the others are bulky and if I wanted something an inch thick that protects the screen I could just just carry the keyboard dock.
The pics on Amazon of the CaseCrown look identical to the case (Jazz) I bought from Steve over at electroniccrap.com..
http://electroniccrap.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_36&products_id=51
The flap on the back and the way it tucks, along with the viewing angle and case material seem quite comparable...
I'm happy with the Jazz...fit is good and material is decent, especially given the price point....is rather difficult to type at the given angle...I think I would prefer something with multiple viewing/typing angles and a little better quality material...but again, for the price paid it is a good option...I'm betting the CaseCrown will give similar results...
Ryan...should give you the thin, light case you are looking for...that was my main need and am satisfied from that standpoint...
Is this about the thinnest and lightest we can expect from a fold over case like that?
I'm getting tired of not being able to bring my transformer out due to not having any protection. Stingray, you're making me want this case even more so I hope I'm not disappointed after I order it.
Actually now that I look at it the pictures, it seems like the jazz might even be thinner than the casecrown? It's hard to tell but maybe I'm just seeing things?
Went ahead and pulled the trigger, worth trying for 25.
Finally a case built specifically for the transformer that looks decent! Definitely looking to get this. Can anyone confirm whether or not the tablet docks correctly WITH THE CASE ON?
None of them are built with the case accommodating the dock. It would pretty much require the entire bottom to be cut out.

Has anyone got this shipped yet? It says in stock july 5th?
just thought i'd throw in my 2 cents here. i just bought 10 CaseCrown iPad2 standby cases for upper management at work and they are really nice cases. one of my friend had one and after messing with it, i liked it enough to recommend to the execs. as soon as the case came up on amazon for the TF i ordered one immediately.
i highly recommend CaseCrown.
Just got an "out of stock" email. They said resupply by Jul 8. Debating cancelling my order.

Got an auto email Friday stating they will ship Jun 27th but got nothing so shouted email to them and they stated they did not have enough stock to meet the preorders, next stock they receive is no later than July 8th. I threatened to cancel so they are willing to discount $3 if I wait till then. I preordered Jun 15.
I am in Canada and don't know how these guys ship so I may get this case by August. HA, HA!
Weird, just checked my email and they state it has been shipped.?

The dock compatibility has the downside of exposing the bottom to possible dust and impact. Only way I see a case supporting dock to be fully protective when undocked is if it had some kind of detachable bottom for when you need to actually dock, Probably would be good if it was held in by tiny pop-in buttons of sorts and with a as small a presence as possible so it doesn't cause any discomfort in holding the tablet.
I am trying to get a feel for how many people have the keyboard dock (and how many are still waiting)
I have a Champagne tablet and had a grey dock for a while but returned it because the return Window was running out. Now I have been trying to get my hands on a Champagne dock but can't find one anywhere.
I got mine a little while ago from newegg during a (very) short window where they had them in stock. I haven't really been watching recently, but if it's anything like it was before you just gotta keep checking a lot of different sites. If you're trying to buy it from a store then I would suggest calling them often and when you do call them try and find the item id # first because sometimes if you ask for it by name they won't find it, but if you give them the # they somehow magically do. Also make sure to confirm that on the box it says CK(or something, you might have to look it up) instead of GR(once again not 100% sure on the exact letters) so you know its champagne and not grey. Good luck finding one.

I just picked up my grey dock today, to match my grey tablet. I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I love the unibody aluminum, which feels very solid and well engineered. The hinge, which worried me the most, feels actually surprisingly sturdy. To say that this feels like a netbook is not an exaggeration - to be honest, you could probably show this to anybody who didn't know it was a tablet and they would think it was one.
The keys are well spaced (for a netbook keyboard), but if you don't have problems typing one a netbook you won't have trouble with this. I believe it's 92%, which is more than sufficient. The keys have a decent amount of travel but I wish they were bit more "clicky" as they feel a tad mushy to me. A minor complaint : putting the backspace key beneath the sleep button? Annoying. Making it so it doesn't also wake? Extra annoying.
Touchpad is responsive (sometimes a bit too much) and works well overall. Scrolling is too touchy but I have yet to find a netbook that handles this well so I guess I'm not too disappointed. Plus I tend to scroll via touching anyway.
All in all, a solid purchase, especially when you consider that you're basically getting a four-for-one : keyboard, battery pack, case/stand, and a USB adapter (the usefulness of which cannot be overstated). Separately these would all probably run $150 and you wouldn''t have the convenience of the slick package.
I'll update my post again after a couple of days, but so far it seems pretty great.
I have the Champagne tablet and Champagne dock... The dock is hard to find, I signed up at nowinstock.net and they sent me alerts when someone had them instock. It took awhile but I got one.
I have the Grey/Grey combination and really like the solid feel of the whole thing when it's locked together.

Glad you are liking the dock. There are few small quirky things with it that you mentioned (i.e. sleep button) but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I have been without mine for a few days now and am definitely missing it. The dock really completes the 'Transformer experience'.
When I returned mine to BestBuy, they were trying to get me to exchange it (like they always do) and I told them if they had the Champagne I would gladly exchange it. So she radioed the tablet department and asked if they had any Champagne docks for the Transformer Prime (I already knew they didn't ... at least on the shelf anyways as I had already looked). Sure enough someone radioed back and said they were bringing one up. So I thought, sweet, maybe they had them 'in the back' or something. So I waited a few minutes and when she finally came up to customer service, she had the original Transformer dock. I'm like, no that is not it... the original dock is not compatible with the Prime. Shouldn't have gotten my hopes up, as I just ended up doing a normal return.
The first time that I went into BestBuy looking for a dock for the Prime (before I actually bought my Grey one) I asked someone in the tablet department if they had any Prime docks in yet and she took me right over to the original Transformer docks, handed me one, and said here you go. I told her that I was looking for the dock for the Prime and she said, "ya we don't have any of those in yet but the old one is 100% compatible with the Prime". I knew this was incorrect but she continued to be persistent about it. Eventually she left to go help someone else and I just put the one she handed me back on the shelf and walked out.

Ya, I have been using NowInStock.net for a couple of months now. I just now signed up for an account and email alerts though, so hopefully that will improve my chances of getting one.
I had been under the impression that NowInStock was a relatively new web site but when I signed up for an account it said that they have been around since 2005.
Edit:
Unbelievable. Not even 10 minutes after I posted this I got an email alert saying the Champagne is available at Amazon. I added one to my cart and got all the way to checkout and it finally said it is no longer available. The Champagne's product page on Amazon now says: "In stock on March 8, 2012". I was so close.

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I was at my computer when the alert arrived. I was at Amazon within 20 seconds. 'Had it in my cart and paused for a few seconds to debate if I should pay the $3.99 for overnite (Amazon Prime member). It was already too late.
From that, i learned that you need to finalize the transaction ASAP, which is how i inadvertently ended up with a gray dock for my champagne prime. (Moving so fast that I missed that tiny little detail). I'm happy with the two-tone look though. Besides, nobody else notices, and they certainly don't care. It's not like driving around with a red door on a blue Pinto.
Currently in the UK we can only get the Prime with the dock. I have the champagne version as grey was pretty much sold out every where when I checked. I don't regret it though. It looks ace and I love being able to use the screen or keyboard to do whatever. I mostly use the touch screen to select what I want rather than use the pad and wait for the cursor to get there
The only time I detach the tablet from the dock is for games that don't use the keyboard/control pad and then I love how light yet sturdy the Prime tablet feels.
I am so happy with this purchase. My best in a while though soon it will have company as I am due an upgrade for my mobile around the time the new Tegra 3 phones are due
Just order one.

Champagne tablet and Champagne dock
love the color/look. i dont like the way the grey looks either. Does anyone have a problem with the tablet dock when only charging the tablet, where the cord bends the topside of the metal? the thin flimsy piece on the top side of the port.
Had a grey dock but I was misled and got a bilingual one so I sold it and now they have all but dried up here in Canada I cant wait to get a non frog edition dock to use it to its full glory again.
Picked up both my grey Prime and grey dock at B&H
I have to say, im a little surprised with the numbers so far. I was expecting to see more people without the dock.
one of the few two-toners.. grey dock.
Just picked up my dock(drove an hour and a half), first impression, love it. Even with my "sausage fingers" able to crank out about 50wpm. Plus all the other things it does, definitely need to find one. Lucky enough to get gray on grey. Used. nowinstock.net very helpful.

I'm sort of debating on picking one up, but i'm afraid of two things:
wouldn't this decrease my laptop use (though the transformer has already done this a little lol)?
Do you use the touchscreen of the tablet less often?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
It depends on what you are trying to use your tablet for. on the go to yes i might use it more. but there are still things your tablet wont do that a laptop can. I use the keyboard and the touch screen. I use my tablet if i just want to look at face book or something like that. There are still limits as to what i can do and the efficiency of it. If you have an android smart phone think of it like that just bigger.

I know how you feel and I've asked in a few threads already but essentially I think it'll be up to me so I bought and once I get it I'll know if its worth it. Or in your case it's essentially up to you regardless what others might comment. There are still some left at amazon.com.
There's a thread in Q&A section and in here about docks already. Maybe after reading them it may help you decide.
here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434588
If you want to read or post in other threads just do a search for "dock" and should show you other threads.
Buy it. If you don't think it is worth it, return it.
I use mine quite a bit.

It really does complete the product.....The extra battery life is awesome. It just makes using the tablet so much more efficient.
Bottom line though will be if you like it. I was on the fence too.....now I cant see not having it...something would be missing.
a Must have, i like the abilty to flip from a laptop to a tablet and since it has a USB port on it. its pretty much a complete product.
i dont see my self using my laptop much anymore. and with the added batter it last longer than my laptop to be honest. and i like it because it protects the screen. so i picked the dock over buying a case that i didnt want anyway. it was a win win in my opinion
i to cant see my self not having the dock after using it for a couple days.
I did a quick justification in my head when I saw it in stock at Frys, here are my thoughts:
1.) An external battery will run you $80, and it is tough to find a 12V output external battery
2.) A bluetooth keyboard will run you another $30
3.) A usb and sd card kit for the transformer (2 kits) will run you another $30
So all these things separately already accounts for ~$140
On top of that, the official dock is actually very very nice to use with some custom software pieces (on Asus' rom) that you cannot get if you buy the separate pieces.
The dock is very much worth it.
Extra battery life when traveling. USB Port and a lot of additional functionality in the form of special hardware keys and keyboard shortcuts.
Also, it really doesn't add a lot of bulk or weight to the tablet. The thickest portion of the dock aside from the hinge is just about the same thickness as the thickest part of the tablet. And since the two were designed to be paired together the resulting device is very sleek.
When traveling, the dock becomes the best screen protector that you could ever hope for. It is much more sturdy than most tablet cases and isn't all that much larger, plus the added battery life is practically a must if you plan to use the tablet away from home for extended periods (or want to carry around a charger).
The extra battery life is ideal and worth it. however the tablet clearly last long!
The only reason i think the dock was the best investment i made was because when i use Splashtop to remote to my house, it REALLY feels like im on a laptop. I just turned my TFP into a Laptop. It's amazing
Although the extra battery, USB, and memory card were attractions for me, what really sealed the deal was that the dock turns the Prime into a fully functional machine for business travel. I am always looking for a smaller device (within reason...i.e. not a phone) to use for business travel, and the TP + dock beats the pants off of my MacBook Pro. The flexibility of effortlessly switching between tablet and 'laptop' is wonderful. The ease of whipping it out at the TSA security theater line is great...much better than my big-ole MacBook. In my opinion, the dock turns a great device into an unbelievably awesome device.

This. Extra battery + keyboard + USB slot + extra SD slot + "cover" makes this the reason i got this tab.
The dock has halved the time I spend on my laptop (my only computer at home). The time spent on the laptop is now nearly pure online gaming, except for a handful of tasks I can't perform on the tablet. Bulk- or weight-wise, it's thinner and lighter than the case I had on it before, and visually more appealing than a black leather folio. I'm personally debating whether or not to get a case for the whole shebang, but it's really not necessary. I just shove it all into a sleeve and it's basically done. I rarely use the tablet on its own anymore, although when I do, it's nice to have it perpetually at or above 75% charge from the dock.
It is well worth the money, in my opinion. I use my prime a lot, and the keyboard makes note taking and Web browsing drastically more efficient.

The dock was the deciding factor for me and its what makes it a Transformer. Otherwise I would have went with the Samsung galaxy.
Personally I think the Transformer Prime is the tablet and the dock. If you are only getting the tablet you're only buying half the product. It's definitely worth it.

Hahah yeah +1 do this. I recently came home from afghanistan and at the airport in Mazar E Sharif there was a bunch of nice locals looking very weird at me when i split the tab and the dock. They wondered if i just broke my laptop lol
I got my dock yesterday from amazon and for the most part I do like it but it does feel like I'm carrying a netbook/laptop. Here are my likes dislikes:
Likes
1. Looks very nice
2. Extra battery/ full usb, physical keyboard
3. Adjust the screen in almost any angle (up to about 135 degrees)
4. Less fingerprint on screen haha
Dislikes
1. Heavier now
2. Feels like I'm carrying/holding netbook/laptop (so 2010)
3. Cant use existing case and if I do get a case itll look so much bulkier
4. Have to undock to play certain games
What I didnt buy the dock for is full USB and Sd card slot. I'm still kinda on the fence about keeping it though.

This. I have had (and I know what I am about to say makes me seem android crazy, but hey therapy right.......right!): Viewsonic gtab, xoom, galaxy tab 10.1, galaxy tab 8.9, kindle fire, hp touchpad. After buying each of these, immediately invalidating the warranty by rootin' and romin', becoming dissatisfied, selling (for a profit most of the time ) I landed on the tfp. First time I have everything I want. It is complete with the keyboard. It is a great tablet without it, but it is the best with it. Buy it now, before you eat next. Therapy works right!?

Awesome to see it come out. Better late than never!
No mention of quick charge. I asked on Amazon. Pricey enough that I think I'll wait for reviews, even though I'm a fan of their products in general. It is nice to see something come out though.
It sure looks like they left an awful lot of void space under the case. If they'd made the battery part of the case they probably could have included more cells and had more capacity.
Too thick for not enough power in my book.

its only $34.99 when you put in the the cart... was showing up $54.99 originally for me
Much more reasonably priced. It was $54.99 when I looked before. Looks like they dropped it down. No Prime shipping, bummer. I can live with that though. No word on QC support.
I'm amused by this copy/paste error...

I think they needed some void space under the case, to account for the curved back of the phone. I'm sure it's possible to build lipo cells with curves, but I doubt ZL makes their own cells and it would probably be cost prohibitive to have some special made for the Nexus curve.
If you ordered first thing in the morning it was listed at 59.95 on Amazon. I had to change my shipping address and stuff so I cancelled and reordered and noticed the price drop.
I got an email from them asking if I wanted to review one of them. Should have it soon.
This cover is so thick, if you have it in your back pocket you have to jump up to sit down.

- too thick
- too late
- not enough juice factoring in the size of the case
had their case on my lg g3 with a whopping 9000mah, that was a beast. this here, not so much.
I wonder how thick it is. Sometimes the pictures make things look worse than they are. I'm curious to see the reviews, I know a few people here bought one.
I did get a reply that quick charge is not supported. Disappointing, as with a larger battery it's even more useful. If this were a 3x battery like the Note series was, it wouldn't matter much, I could get 12+ hours of screen on time with those things. But this isn't even 2x....
Just got a tracking email from their marketing department last night; will be posting a review a day or two after it arrives.

This.
ZeroLemon must have made the Nexus 6 an afterthought to start selling a case 11 months after the phone is released. Shame on them for putting Nexus users last on their to-do list.
I got mine today . I'm gonna post a initial thoughts review tomorrow, its charging now
I think it's awesome that they finally made a battery for the N6. I could deal with no wireless charging. I could also deal with no Turbo Charge. But having neither? I think that's the deal breaker.
I think I'll wait for the new N6 to be released. Maybe I'll get one of these on closeout for those rare long trips.
edit: I doubt it would even be useful on long trips. It's only 3500 mAh on a 6" phone. I might as well just take an external battery in a separate pocket.

How about some pics till u get review up
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
Ill put up some pics tom, been down with a stomach bug all day. Im gonna hold off on my review for a few days, im not sure mine is working correctly.
here are some pics against my ballistic case. the case material feels hard and it concerns me about drops. reminds me of the cases used on my old note 2 with the zerolemon extended battery. i might just be biased to the beyond amazing job the rubber bouncy ball feeling of the ballistic case
edit: crap pics are to big
Looks pretty beefy. I hope it fits with my tempered glass screen protector (its the nillkin one with the black border). The case will be a great case for planned events that your going to be on the road a long time and want some extra juice and keep it in your pcoket. Its a shame its no quick charge capable. That would have been awesome.
it fits with my intelliarmor with no problems.
