Did you set up a samsung account on settings n i never got a update either i ended up installing a rom. And im happy with it.
same here. Purchased today, made Samsung account, no system update when I check.
Weird thing...I got a Wi-Fi 16GB yesterday and got the OTA immediately, but today I took it back and got a 32GB, but it wouldn't get the update. I ended up flashing a custom ROM.
Same here. Have been checking for update and nothing so far. I have created account since I purchased SGT 10.1 in July. I also have the SGT 10.1 32GB Where is our TouchWiz.

OK I just thought about something. Those that haven't received the TouchWiz update. Is your bootloader unlocked? My SGT 10 already came with unlocked bootloader.

+1 unlocked 32gb - update received
Also other threads mentioned these steps...
1) Samsung.com account setup?
2) Already been in the Google Market on the tab to accept the Terms of Use?
3) After both of those, did you add your Samsung account to the tab with success?
Same here, ordered yesterday on amazon, logged into samsung account, checked for update, and nothing.
What is everyone's details? My build number appears to be a build for IO attendees from what it looked like in another thread, not sure though, so maybe that's the cause as TouchWiz isn't available for the IO build
Android Version: 3.1

Got my wife a 16GB wifi only tab from Staples and same deal.
Setup the google account, samsung account and accepted market terms but no update available.
Checked the Build Number and it shows HMJ37.UEKF3 P7510UEKF3
I found another thread in here that notes the build number above is for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 LE (Google I/O) version and not the retail version.
Can any one else not finding the update check their build number to confirm if it happens to match the one above?
Galaxy Tab 10.1 LE (Google I/O) Android 3.1 update is out!

just got off a chat with samsung and they said they have halted the update, with no info on when it will resume. not impressed with samsungs communication skills.
Go to Menu-settings-Accounts and Sync-add account-choose samsung account-sign up(if you haven't created one yet)
The sync logo will stay gray color next the samsung account. Go check for system updates...should walk you through the process.
Keep in mind that this update will take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Make sure you have a full battery or enough to last you a bit.
Try to keep the screen 'awake' during the process. Let me know if you run into problems.
The update is cool. Not bad.

Halted the update??? That's bull crap...why would they do that?? Sucks for the customers that wanted to check out the update. I guess we'll see what happens.
Funny, I just got of the chat with them and they told me this:
"In order to prevent network or server overload we are limiting the number of Tabs that can download the update. You can either keep trying, or wait for your Tab to receive a push update notification."
Could it be related to the lawsuit? Maybe touchwiz will be removed from samsung products if they lose the suit...
I've just bought a 10.1v in Belgium ( GT-P7100, 16G + 3G ). It came with Android 3.0.1 ( build HRI83.BUKE2 ) and no samsung apps.
I don't have the option to add a samsung account ( I also have an SGS2 which has the apps and I have created a Samsung account on it so I know how it should work ).
Software update tells my device is up to date.
So will I have to root&flash to get to 3.1 ?

I don't believe this, mainly because samsung sent me a label to overnight return my tab and they are sending me a new tab just because I complained that I couldn't get the OTA. Why would they send me a brand new tab if I couldn't get the OTA and they knew they stopped it? It's being delivered to them today.
Anything is possible though, I've seen sammy do some things that had me scratching my head in the past

Why don't you post some screenshots so we can see with our own curious eyes ?
What are U talking about
Man,,, who are you kidding?!!!,,,
the SGSII 32GB version is discontinued by SAMSUNG (Some say because of its high price)..
Anyway I think it's just a 16GB version with a 16GB or 32GB SDHC card...
Please Mr. downwiththebanksters stick a 32GB SD card into it and show the total 64GB capacity of your phone either through some pictures or video clips so that we can silence all these windbags once and for all...
The ?!?!?!?!?!!!!?four!?!??! at the end of your 1st posts gives me doubts. You not showing any pictures makes me doubt even more. Which are easy to edit anyways.
why was my post deleted all i asked was what the OP paid for this

...and then you woke up ! lol
I'm often astounded at the vitriol that is slung around here sometimes. To quote Linus Van Pelt (the only one who I actually KNOW, and am willing to acknowledge, said these words), "I bring you tidings of great joy." and you slag me? We're all in this together people. The Palm community would have never gotten so vicious as this thread. People calling me a liar...honestly. I do thank those who had the grace to defend me.
I think those thugs should take a look at my sig. I had smartphones while they were in regular phones. I had one of the first of the first 10,000 run of BB 850's (google it). That was in the last century kiddies!
I took a long time dealing with Taiwanese people to get this and then was late for work, so had no time to upload pics. Will try to do it now. Some of us have lives.
It was "Made in china by Samsung"
I want to see if someone asks me for/ needs this potentially unique ROM. I haven't attempted root, but have read the howto thread once, so I can't go to system/etc/asound.conf yet. I can't browse there in Win7, but might jam it into my Linuxbox when my son wakes tomorrow as what DAC it is a burning question for me too! I would also like to find out if it's Eynos/Mali. Where could I find that short of a teardown? The telco said it is Exynos/Mali.
It cost me $NT22490 cash today, which included the next 11 months free service (NT$1049/mo) of the 2yr contract(unlimited 3G/HSPDA, 400 sms, 30mins voice).
I bought the 32 because I didn't want to spend the extra NT$2000 to get a good 32SD, so sorry that pic won't be coming for a while, by then noone'll give a bienbien.
The ?!?!?!?!?!!!!?four!?!??! is the exact same emotion YOU are having, except I'm lucky enough to have it in my hands. Yes I'm shocked that Taiwan got it first. As for whether I photoshopped this....do you really think I would waste my time to get the goat of what are seemingly graceless individuals?

I went to settings>software update. I was forced to give Sammy my email and birthdate, and then it checked for an update and said "No update available." Sorry, dunno if that is KIES or not. If not please tell me specifically what to do.
Samsung does not provide OTA updates yet. So updating your firmware can be done through Kies , an app that you must install in your pc, it's free to download from Samsung official site. With this app you can sync your phone with your pc through usb cable.

Very nice thank you! I had a funny feeling KIES air wasn't KIES. Should I bother with it or should I do ODIN instead? I think I'm going to go custom eventually, but definitely want to preserve this stock config in case things go pear shaped. Will having installed KIES hurt me when I go down the custom ROM road?

Covered in many other posts but to summarize:
1) Samsung.com account setup?
2) Already been in the Google Market on the tab to accept the Terms of Use?
3) After both of those, did you add your Samsung account to the tab with success?
NOTE: No idea how the region may play a factor here....the Samsung account certainly has a country choice that might be an issue.
I have a SGS 2, i created samsung account on it. Added the same acct to tab 10.1.-- no good
then reset the tab, created a new samsung acct---- still no good..
have a similar problem
when i setup my samsung account i put us as a region. and earlier today i decided to update the system. i downloaded and installed the update but ignore a warning about removing clock widgets and any contacts shortcuts. So when it rebooted i got a black screen. I did a hard reset and got the factory setting tried to update again but got no new updates and i still have none of the new features.
Contacted samsung live chat and they said something about an overload of downloaders and the only solution they figured is to keep checking for new updates or the tab will send me a "(push) notification" of an update available.
so still trying and no new developments. I'll wait and try the next day.
Having the same issue as tusharsingla.
Bought the tab in the US and back home it can't find the TouchWiz update via the tab (no update available) and also not via Kies. Only strange thing is that the Samsung account has 'Sync Off' mentioned in my account list. Any suggestions?
See my post from another thread. I'm having the same issue and am here in the US.

Spoke with Samsung Support today
Samsung support says that they are limiting updates due to load on their servers. I spoke with two different techs and got the same answer.
However, IMHO this is a bunch of bull. The update was released more than a week ago and if their servers cannot handle the load after this amount of time they should pack up their bags and go home.
Give me a break!
I couldn't agree with you more! This is ridiculous! Just when I thought samsung is starting to get their act together they do something like this.

More from Samsung on Update
After numerous calls and emails over the past 10 days, I finally speak with someone today that tells me that the update is on hold. They could not provide any details about the reason or an ETA for availability.
I love Samsung's products, but there is no polite way to describe the quality of their support.
Same problem
When I finally got ahold of their support, I was told it was on hold due to an issue with the media hub in the USA. They could not give me any more details than that.
Samsung Experience
I happened to be in NYC today so I stopped in at the Samsung Experience center and they confirmed that the update was pulled, but they said it was due to software issues, not Media Hub. The rep said that there were complaints about excessive lag and poor battery life although he said it worked perfectly on his Tab.
I wasn't expecting the update any more soon but being bored I manually checked for it again yesterday evening. I was surprised that my tab did mention that there was an update available. It is the update including the TouchWiz, Media hub etc. so apparently they are still sending out the update.
I also checked out of boredom and noticed a firmware update. Can this be done while maintaining root?
galaxatized with honeycombâ„¢
Got my Tab a couple of weeks ago and saw a pending 180+ MG update available while I was exploring last night. Ran it, and it crashed the system, some features work, some don't, some critical (the browser) are gone and I am a long long way away from support.
So begins my school on Android.
Has anyone allowed this Kit-Kat push to install? If so, I would be curious to know what has changed, if any settings were lost, disabled apps re-enabled, etc.
I just hate to be a guinea pig for these OTA pushes; always afraid that Google and sammy will continue to lock down the control screws by removing user ability to disable instrusive built-in apps via Application Manager, etc. On the other hand, I realize that they will need to do bug fixes for some period of time after such a new release. In this case, the release notes are the most cryptic that I have ever seen "increases stability" but "might change settings, delete data, etc." What the hell?!!
I am trying to avoid rooting this new device but may be forced to in order to do an image backup to get back to a previous stable state if one of their OTAs wreaks too much havoc. Any thoughts on this or any way to disable OTAs with stock firmware for the TMo USA S5?
What version of software are you on?
So far there has only been one OTA push for the phone and that was the one you would have gotten out of the box.
version NCH.
That one is still rootable too.
I think that is what the root method was actually based on.

Thank you for the reply, Artisan, and sorry for the late reply. I am on NCD (e.g., Build number KOT49H.G900TUVU1ANCD and Baseband G900TUVU1ANCD). I picked my phone up from a TMO store on the release Friday and received the OTA push download a few days later. I have not yet installed it because I cannot determine what it is/does/improves/or limits.
Not quite sure what you mean when you say that there has been one OTA push and I would have received it out of the box. The TMO store unboxed the phone and set it up for me. Either the update was not yet available, or was and they simply did not install it. In any case, it appears that I am on the released version NCD and what they are trying to push to me is the one and only update so far, NCH, right?
My question remains, what does NCH change? The release note is useless; it says "increases stability." Does anyone know the answer to this question?
Thank you!

The NCH update only does what it states, increases stability. It's what everyone is on and doesn't limit anything.
Hi
Yesterday I bought a cnm touchpad 7 for my boy's birthday. It is running android version 4.0.4 but when I try and do a system update it tells me my system is currently up to date. How can I force it to install a later version as I cannot get it to play his favourite app properly and I think it's because it's not running a late enough version of android.

take it back to the store and buy a updated one simple as that, and i dont think you can force it to download a free copy of android 4.1 if thats the case we wouldn't need custom roms.

I searched about you touchpad. But there is no update available for this model as far as can tell.
If you can still sell it back or exchange it for some other product i recommend buying some other local brand 5inc or larger screen touchphone as they are big, cheap and are coming with android 4.1 and above these days.
just make sure to check before you buy it.
When I check for updates the tablet just says "Connecting to server..." and it never completes.
The tablet is connected to the internet. In fact I am typing this from the tablet right now.

download samfirm or that new download tool - I think it is called FRIJA t - and use it to search for the latest firmware -in the device field, enter SM-T860 and then enter your CSC - if you are in the US - enter the letters xar as your CSC and it will find the most recent firmware (August Security Patch) and allow you to download it. Then use the latest patched odin to flash.
Hope this is helpful

Calm down. Just a bit of banter. The odd security update isn't what I mean. Updates will be rare on the s6 and they haven't improved that much . Be months before Android 10
Still can't get updates on the WiFi 256GB version. I am still running Security Patch August 1, 2019. Is there an update available and if so how can I get it?
I found that updates can be installed on the tablet using SmartSwitch.
For me (in Germany) it came as usual over the air.

Thanks, this is valuable information for me. So, you are always on home csc, and have this problem
