[Q] Wrong received sms time - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using Samsung's messaging client and I've noticed that when I receive an SMS, the time displayed is not the actual sent time but the time it was received by me.
Is there any way to fix this ??

1. Read the forum rules
2. This is general, not Q&A. This is a question.
3. Search before you ever ask any questions. See here...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA
4. Finally, here's a thread discussing your question...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1181716&highlight=text+message+time

You are right about the Q&A . You are wrong about posting this thread. I ask something different ....

I asked this in my thread a while ago. See here:

This is a shame. Does handcent or gosms pro solve the issue ?

I tried both on a previous old firmware but not newer firmwares. If you try it let me know the results.

I think we all have the same problem with the time stamps, when the phone has been turned off or without connection. Whenever you receive text messages it writes when you receive them and not when they were sent. It really blows. It it not the same problem as the one you describe though, but the same as AaronUK has

Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Question about differences in Call Log between CM9 and CM10

Hello Everyone,
I have recently reverted to CM9 after testing CM 10 for a short while.
One of the more minor differences which i noticed between the two was what i call the "Call Origin Indicator" in the Call Log.
In CM10, calls from numbers which aren't saved in your contacts have the city of origin listed underneath.
In CM9, calls from numbers which aren't saved in your contacts have the country of origin listed underneath. The exception is for calls to the United States, which list both the state and city of the call - the same exact functionality as in CM10.
Now, my question is whether this is a documented difference in functionality, or whether something might have gone wrong with my installation of CM9.
If any further information is required, please just let me know and i will be happy to provide it.
Thank You,
HeroTwin

Hmm, trying to decipher your reply. Perhaps I posted in the wrong forum? Or maybe the answer to my question is just that obvious? Should your reply allude to the latter, I can assure you that I did my research in advance and could find nothing close to a reasonable answer to my query.
Either way, you'd do well to be more descriptive in the future so that people needn't worry about doing this kind.d of guesswork...

Mate post your question in Q&A forum and for sure you'll get answers.
OK, of course that makes sense. The only reason I posted here is because its more of a development related question and it seems to makes more sense here. Should I just go ahead and abandon this thread or is it advisable to wait for it to be moved?

Ah good, I see this has been moved. My apologies for posting improperly.
Any answer would, of course, be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
HeroTwin

my apologies!didn't realised i posted in development forum. i was looking for solutions, toolkits and roms and Q&A sections all opened in chrome, so i wasn't looking which tab(forum) i was in. sorry about this!!!
but could anyone shed some light on the problem?please?
It sounds like the sds problem so a visit to Samsung services to replace motherboard is probably only solution

Download a pit file for i9300 and use that. Then repartition in ODIN with a full firmware( one that contains all partitions )
It should work, provided you are still able to enter Download Mode!

Suggest you read the thread, it has been reported, the OP has acknowledged he made a mistake, there is no reason why people can't offer assistance to the poor guy.........however I can think of plenty of reasons why people shouldn't add posts like yours.....namely forum rules

True! Yes he made a mistake and he was good enough to accept it. Poor guy's phone is broken, i am sure a 500$ damage can spoil anyone's sense of forum rules... So while opening another thread in the general thread wouldn't solve the problem, helping him to close his issue might just save someone's phone!

What is that supposed to mean?
There is already a thread for this issue, so there is no point cluttering up the forum with duplicate threads.

So why create the thread when a warning / how to fix thread (that you know about) already exists?

I understand all the words you just used but I can't understand them in the order they are in or within the context we're in.

Androm3d-vzla-v3.0
This is the name of the ROM I installed: ANDROM3D-VZLA-V3.0 Found it under: Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Android Development
But now it seems to be gone that post
As said, there already exists thread for this issue. Please have a look in the General subforum for it, or use the seacrh function.

Ask in app thread.

You have an issue/question regarding the SWApp Link app. Your question belongs in that app's thread.
