Cant get past boot screen - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Now I am doing something wrong becuase this has happened to me on three different roms a number of times after I odin each one. I cant get past the boot screen. I have tried alot of roms and this is never happened before. So I am guessing I must be doing something wrong over and over. I am not sure if it is the off market apps. I know for a fact when I installed a keybaord off my sd card this happened. But I got rid of it and the apps I install have always worked so I am stuck as if what I am doing to cause all my downloaded and flashed roms to freeze at boot while disllaying thier boot screen that even doing a wipe does NOT fix it. Once it freezez at boot i have to odin and this has happend on three different 2.3.5 roms so I am not sure what to do now.

Let me also add the roms work fine. Its when i install my apps and do my settings that this happens so hard to pin point what it is I am doing wrong.
I install market and off market apps that I know for a fact did caused this before but i got rid of that one
I overclock to only 1.2
I do system settings like sound and tweaks cm has in these rooms

[Q] How to remove lag fix any1?

so i used the update .zip when while doing the mcr i got some errors it told me to ignore it said complete i got the $ sign, i turned off the phone. then vibrant screen come on then the black screen, so i got it into recovery using up down... deleted user and cache data, phone turns on with no tmobile screen seems to b working fine... i just want to make sure i remove lag i saw some ways to remove MCR using apps in market will that help????
Go to the Bionix topic. The instruction that says something like "You forgot to disable Voodoo before installing the rom" fixes the problem. Although it doesn't have a 100% success rate. It worked for me and you can brick your phone if you don't know what you're doing, as usual.
Thank you sir

Apps downloading... then vanish/not install

I've only noticed this on Nero v2 and v3. Not certain it is rom specific though (because I can't see how this would be isolated to the rom).
that said, any time I download an app from the market it downloads find, but then it dissappears from the notification bar and it does not install.
I have tried clearing market data/cache
clearing download manager data/cache
rebooting
fix permissions + reboot
using the Market Doctor via Titanium Backup
Anyone else experiencing this, rather.. is there a known fix?
I want to download skyfire so I can remove the stock bookmarks... also not sure why this is an issue for the froyo leaks, but I have read that deleting them using skyfire also removes them from the stock browser.
Thanks!

yeah mine does that too....i'm thinking its a market problem...
but my temp fix is: when it goes away in the notification bar.. just go back to the app in market and hit install/free or whatever and it eventually installs my apps...hope it helps
I've had similar problems with JL5 I'm guessing it's something with the new market.
I've been having the same problem, yea its probably the new market
Eugene Gingerbread Clone+Super IO+OCLF+Slidescreen Pro=Amazing
I had the same thing...went into manage applications and hit clear data on the market app...all is good

I had this problem before, then i accidentally installed this market apk and it started working with no problems, but idk if it'll work for everyone.
I'm running Ginger Clone R2.
Here's the link, you should be able to install it without any problems or anything.

It happens to me about 1/3 of the time. I am running Axura 2.1. It also happens to my wife about 10% of the time, and the only thing that has happened to her phone is market apps and OTA updates. She is fully stock and I am not allowed to touch her phone.
I just go to downloads, click on the app so it loads the app page, hit cancel and then install. This usually kicks it into gear. Another thing I noticed is that the ones that don't download usually have a progress bar that mirrors another downloading/installing application rather than show their own progress. Then when the actual installed app is finished the wrong apps shows either 0% or 100% downloaded but never changes until I cancel and restart.
FYI, neither my wife nor myself are using the new market yet.
Hii all... Wiping the cache partition into recovery mode has done the trick for me...you won't lose any data, first boot after wiping will take some time and maybe that will fix it...

I will try it, but I don't hold out much hope it will fix it. This has persisted for me over my last three ROMs ( a little over a month) and I wiped my cache several times since over that period. Usually if I am gonna do a lag fix I wipe everything temporary that is safe to wipe first so there is less to process. It speeds things up.

Weird colors after flashing.. 256bit ? :(

I've had alot of different roms over the past few weeks and not a single problem.. CM 7.1, Batista, etc etc.. but now after trying to flash a stock rom since I wanted to go back to normal, anything I flash from now on get's the whole phone into 256 color mode or something. It's really annoying as everything is just plain ugly, even the background/icons all over.
What could one do to fix this you think ?
Searched a while but didn't find anything about it, not even google.
Can probably add what I've tried so far..
Flashing Siyah Kernel - No success
Wiping cache/factory/data etc etc.... - No success
Flashing random roms to try and see if it works when wiped and new rom.. - No success..
Take a picture of it please.
On my way home now. Will take a pix at once I'm home.

You can see it mostly on dark surfaces, and on "transitions".. even on camera pics. Just seems to be a weird contrast or something like that, everything is like more grey then usual aswell, even the battery picture when charger is connected and you have it turned off.
Have you tried connecting with Kies for a firmware update?
I had the same problem as you I think, cant really tell from the picture but once I updated with kies and rebooted all was fine again.
Fixed it by flashing a couple of kernals and stock roms from the original roms thread by Intratech.
YAY! =)
And after a simple reboot it's back. Hmm.

Uninstall Kies, and delete the samsung folders in appdata/local and appdata/roaming in your user directory.
Reboot and install again.
I assume you use windows 7 or vista. Not sure about XP, been a while since I used it.
I have exactly the same problem on my galaxy s2.
It happened to me after I installed batista70's ROM on my phone..
Whatever I do now, I tried 4 different stock roms, there's still heavy color banding and it looks like the display has got a lower resolution...
For example in the microbes live wallpaper the microbes are bigger and the black background has got some grey tones that do not blend in very well but are like banded.
Maybe you installed chainfire3d and ticked reduce texture quality..

It happened after installing stockrom+kernel, so no.
Did anyone find a solution for this?
It seems I have the same problem and it won't go away, no matter what I flash.
Seems like it's related to Samsung's mDNIe image processing engine.
I flashed cyanogenmod and fiddled around with the mDNIe settings, a few reboots and it seems to be fixed!
Weird that these settings seem to be carried across between roms, including full factory resets, wipe everything in recovery and flashing factory roms. I wonder where they hide to avoid getting reset??
Same for me after flashing founded on internet stock Orange rom GT-I9100_IDE_I9100BVKE2_I9100BVKE2_I9100IDEKE2. After that I had MIUI ics, and now Vanila rom, but this ****ty colours remained.
Voodoo Screen Tuning app is some sort of solution, but settings are not saved in the system and after reboot they are lost. (for me native SM2 A2 line looks like originals colors)
I say poop! Seriously, it happened to me too and did exactly what you guys did with the stock rom. I guess I will fiddle around with the CM too. Do you remember which settings you changed?
Yesterday I flashed official rom DXKL3 from here and colours finally are fixed.
Same problem after screen replacement.
Fixed by flashing stock DXKL3 as stated above.

[Q] ISC'd Out Rom Bug Questions

I just downloaded and flashed the ISC'd Out Rom and I LOVE its set up. However the messaging app does not work it forcecloses along with a handful of other apps. Also it just randomly went back to the boot logo for a few seconds than back to the home screen it never fully restarted. If I need to flash something else to allow for this rom to work can someone let me know or let me know if I need to do something else for it to work properly. I am using an AT&T GS2 by the way.
Did you do all the wiping procedures per the directions? I just moved to this ROM and it works perfectly. I also have the ATT i777
Did you restore system data along with the apps in Ti Backup? I think this could lead to problems as well.
I believe I restored some of the system data I think that was it. Its working done now thank you I thought that could be it but wasn't sure. Thanks again

Phone acting extremely weird..

Hello,
since a few days my Xperia S acts really weird. For example when typing right now it will freeze from time to time and i will have to wait 5 seconds to type.. Or when going back from an app to the Homescreen it will sometimes vibrate twice and open the taskmanager.. I already tried a factory reset but that doesnt help.. Any suggestions?

I have never seen this issue before, but i'm thinking in the lines of some kind of app that is using your cpu for the full 100% or so.
Does it perhaps occur after you have installed a specific app?
I'm not sure about this at all, but i'm just trying to eliminate all possibilities.
Ive installed 2 apps after the factory reset, XDA app and whatsapp.. :/
Those apps shouldn't really give any issues.
Are you running the stock GB/ICS firmware and a stock kernel as well?
yeah everything's on stock. nothing modifyed.
I think what you could try is to flash a stock GB/ICS firmware through the flashtool with a full data wipe and all that.
Perhaps it's useful to format the storage memory of your phone too, just to be sure.
Again, i'm not sure if any of this will work but it's worth a try.
If this doesn't help, i think it's best for you to return the handset to the shop.
