Hello everyone
I'm a proud owner of a SGS II for three months . I've been using it with the default rom , just rooted and added CWM Recovery . Really love this phone ! Use it for everything , Gaming , Watching Movies , Camera, Emails.
But one day I thought that I should flash a custom rom , I'm kinda expirienced at this , so everything went ok. BUT! First I flashed Cyanogen Mod , really loved it on my HD2 , bud now , i feel the lack of Standard multicodec Samsng Video player , and also the camera , photo qualiy isn't as great as it used to be on stock .
I cannot live without watchingunconverted 1080p MKV videos . People suggested using different custom Video players , but they lag , they look awful , just don't deliver the same quality and feel as stock . Same thing on MIUI rom's the camera quality is'nt the same , and no multicodec video playback . But everything else is just gorgeous.
I really hate the samsunginess of the stock ROM , but can't live without best MEDIA experience . So what I'm asking , is it possible to port the stock samsung video player app , camera app to custom roms ( MIUI , CM )?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Hi
At the moment i'm using the custom rom "MiniCM7-2.2.0" for my X10 Mini.
Well, unfortunately i'm having some issues with the implemented camcorder...
1. The recorded videos are stuttering. I've checked the framerate with the tool GSpot and it says 56 fps. Actually the video should be smooth with that framerate, but for some reason it's still stuttering.
Any solution for that? Would it help to overclock the cpu a bit? If yes, what is the maximum MHz i can choose without destroying my phone?
2. There is another problem with the camcorder:
When i'm recording outside in daylight, the video is much too bright - sometimes the whole screen goes white!
But when i'm recording inside where it's darker then outside, the video is much too dark - i can't barely see anyting on the display...
That also happens when i'm recording outside and then get inside in a darker place (still recording) - suddenly the whole video becomes totally dark - nearly black.
Am i the only person with this problem?
Well, then i tried lgcamera (latest version).
But that camcorder app also doesn't work properly.
As soon as i press the record button, the video freezes (not the app, just the video). All i can see then is a freezed picture. But that only happens on custom roms. I've tried several custom roms (gingerbread and froyo-roms) and several versions of lgcamera, but videorecording always freezes as soon as i press the record button...
Then i tried lgcamera on the 2.1 stock rom.
On the stock rom it doesn't freeze during video recording, but instead the same issues occur like with the implemented video camera in the custom roms: outside the video gets too bright and inside the video gets too dark! Well, at least the videos aren't stuttering on the custom rom using lgcamera...
I've read many times on this forum that people are using lgcamera without any problems on the X10 Mini - even on a custom rom! So how come it isn't working for me?
The only camera that does work properly is the stock camera in the 2.1 stock rom.
But i would like to stay on gingerbread or at least froyo...
Please, can anybody help me with this?

Well, that really sucks
I've just read your post in the CM7-thread (btw. very funny explanation of the camera ).
In that case i'll switch back to the 2.1-stock rom, because i really need/want a good camcorder. And the stock one in the original rom ist just amazing for such a small mobile phone. Continuous auto focus ftw!
Well, thanks anyway for your reply.

Yes you right in 2.1 camera its amazing coz its maked and compiled by aliens.
Yeah my post is funny coz when I wrote it I was 100000% pissed of by the ugly android camera.
Yeah I'm using minicm for cost of my camera but this is coz I have ST15i the x mini next brother of our mini and use its camera for my needs.
I'm much in with cameras I'm amateur photographer ,displays colours , saturation , optics , HD, pixels and so on , all this things its like my seccond nature. That's why I wrote this post there on miniCM treat and like you see no one answer on it.
And in the end its soo strange how devs can port hack make and etc whole OS but when job come to camera its go to dead end.
Only reasonable explanation is Aliens coz only Sony can make this happen.
Wish I had some pall from Sony to ask him to make camera work but I haven't ....

Hi,
please install the new apk from google play store
For me ALL Camera apks (360,vignette,zoom miui,cm) works to 100%
greets
MM TEAM
I have tried the new version of camera360 from play store but sadly its not working
But when i used camera360 for android 1.5 it worked! i'm little confused now..
also it gives me error that high resolution not supported?
another question i had..
which is the best kernel for this rom m&m miui v5.0???
sorry for bugging u wii4u but since u started this thread about M&M's MIUI i thought there's no use of starting another one...
the rom is actually the best i've ever used and everything is perfect except for two things:
1- the 1080 videos used to play much much smoother on the stock rom, i've tried various player but the issue remains and the lagg is huge, it's really killing me.
2- i wish the screen rotation worked, i tried to toggle it on/off several times i've even tried rebooting but still doesn't work, i can't see my pictures or browse the web in landscape mode and it irritates me.
for videos they are working fine for me..try using mx video player..its awesome..no lag problems
btw which kernel are u using?
yeah that landscape mode is quite a problem!
the rotation problem is fixed by multilangual pack... i'm actually using mx player... it works fine with 720 fps but when it comes to 1080 it becomes very laggy and the sound goes away in the middle of the playback!!!
on M&M Rom V6 (today update) everything work fine
I installed cm10 rom on my tab 10.1 its great and smooth but when I come to playing videos it is very bad, the youtube video lag too much on the app and the browser ... and the downloaded videos from youtube (720p) lag also on the video player ... I did a quaderant benchmark and I noticed somthing, the 2D result is too too low its about 55 and the bar is almost invisible ... so if anyone have the same problem or know the way to fix it please advise me .... THANK YOU
Oh my god !!! .... xda developeers where are you ??? Please help.
that's how the p7500 handles CM10 ICS or JB.
I'd advise to stick to stock ICS for smooth video, that's the only solution I found

I was on CM10, it crashed and died, had to flash Stock 4.0.4 and, as far as I remember, I could watch YT HD videos quite comfortably, with minor hiccups when some intensive scenes like water ripples, sea were rendered. I then flashed tryptosylls 4.1.2 AOKP and video lags a hell lot now!
Thanks .. I think I have to flash the stock rom .... i've alrady overclocked but the same problem stills.
Can someone link me to a good rom for the galaxy tab 10.1 ??
Look in the development section. You can do it!
I'm asking cause i need rom without this problem ..... I won't try every rom in the section !!!
I see the same issue in my phone as well. But this happens because of poor hardware acceleration support. U can fix this by adding a line to build.prop file. What u need to do is change or add video.acceleration.hw = 0. 0 means disable and 1 means enable. After changing this, I did not face issues while palying videos on youtube.
Anyway, very hq videos plays good with hw accelation. But still u can try ur luck.
Hit thanks if I help u.

Hello , Fellow XDA Members , I Have been using the SuperNexus 4.0 for our device since a few days .. but noticed a bug just a few hours back . Since The SuperNexus 4.0 Thread is closed , i cannot ask questions or my doubts/problems there . The ROM is otherwise stable , but while playing music , it is fine . after i pause it and resume it , it hang , plays the song for a second and then stops playing the song . Though the song is on , ( the seek goes on ) there is no music to hear . i have to force close the app and restart it in order to play it again . It happens Everytime i stop and resume a song . Is there anyone who can help me out ? I really Like the ROM a lot but cannot find a solution or a fix for a problem like such . Thanks a Lot for your time .
P.S. : I have Attached the screenshot if it helps ( Sorry for not providing the extended Notification )

Sorry to bash your post just like that buddy, but SuperNexus 4.0 is too-buggy and somewhat "unstable" ROM for certain usage such as music for instance as your particular case, and video recording also known as Camcorder issue to be precise. I definitely love SuperNexus 4.0 as it feels to stable and smooth to use after using it for some time, but the ROM never got any updates or fixes so best you switch to another ROM, one that doesn't have that issue. Too bad the only Vanilla Android experience lied in SuperNexus ROMs, as the 3.0 and 4.0 builds will never probably receive updates, so I'm sorry to see such a post and not be able to help..
i bet that someone has a fix .. besides .. there are unofficial builds of supernexus all over and they do not have this problem . there has to be a fix . about the camcorder , i fixed it using other roms' camera2.apk and replaced it using root browser .. there has to be a fix .
Hi guys , I'm facing constant issues with my phone trying to take a good non shaky photo , No matter what I do and How stable is my hand , The photos are always shaky , I know there is no OIS But I have used alot of other phones including budget ones having better stabilization , Redmi note 8 pro for example , I wanted to
now if there's something to change in the settings of the camera reducing this stability issue ?
p.s I tried Gcam and have the same problem so if you have any suggestions for this matter as well would be great ty
First of all , english is not my first language , let me help you , go to playstore and find gcamator , the app will choose which gcam is suitable for the device , after that go to " your gcam " and tap install . After installing the gcam , go to gcam setting and find stabilization , im currently using the latest gcam and the stabilizer is good enough
Also you can go to google photos app and stabilize your video , find tutorial on youtube , have a nice day
