[Q] Call quiality on ACE - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Dear Galaxy Ace users, I want to buy the Galaxy ACE, but the only issue bothering me is the call quality (through earpiece). My friend has the ACE and the call quality is rather poor, also during a call there is sort of a pulse of high volume from the earpiece then the volume goes back to normal then the pulse comes again after maybe 30-40 secs (but it is totally random).... and so on.
Please dear user's help me regarding this issue, i just wanna make sure that maybe my friends ACE is defective or something and all this call quality issue is not a common one. Also please comment on the call quality in general.
Thankyou.

That has only happened once to me, in a poor signal area.

[Q] Ear Speaker Crackle

Hello all
Got the S2 recently...was an HD2 user (with android) and am really impressed with the performance of the S2..though I am not too happy with two things.
- Battery...i just got the VillianRom installed..and I hope to see an improvement there..
- Ear speaker jarring...the ear speaker seems to crackle at certain frequencies. I checked the whole forum and there were some others with the same complaint and was asked to use the Volume+ app..which I have and to be honest i dont see much of a diffrence..the crackle is still there. I want to be sure if this is a hardware issue or a software issue...and how can I really solve it?
Can someone help?
ah.. another fellow s2 holder that has this issue.
YES! I have the same problem and its driving me crazy!!!
its random, and its buzzes, crackle or even sounds like the earspeaker is blown!
What have you done with it? I think I'll probably go change it but just checking here if you have found the solution?
there's one person with a vibrant saying he blew hot air into the earspeaker and it solved the problem (dunno if its advisable) and he didnt say how did he do that.
I seriously have no idea what you're talking about. I use Spotify non-stop on my SGS2, no crackling thing.
I'm not talking about the back speaker, its the front one where you listen to when you're in a call.
Hello! I have the same problem! Like it is distorting. I will take it to service centre today.
I really can't remember I posted that, my bad.
ok I got back my phone from Samsung Service Centre, after a second persuasion they changed the front panel (whole LCD including the front speaker, not sure if the back speaker too, I don't know the structure of the phone).
And now, it's solved!! NO MORE BUZZING when making/receiving calls!
Definitely go ask for an exchange or a change of your panel guys! It's a HARDWARE ISSUE.
Thank you for your answer! I have the same problem. They dont belive that is something wrong. They changed the speakerphone and no solution. Now they tell me that must be something wrong with our network, which I dont belive... I was also suspecting that all have the same problem, they just dont recognize.
Thanks a lot!

[Q] S2 sound RFI when calling

Hello,
I recently got an galaxy S2 lte, at the beging it was everything ok , and i was really enjoying the cellular vs the price i've paid for it
.
But now i've notice some strange thing, when im calling or receiving a call, after some minutes(not always the same can be 2 min or 15 min) i will ear a RFI sound coming from the speaker more to the top left side of the cellular. Sound its similar to when your phone it's about to ring and your computer speakers start interfering.
When the interfering starts it won't stop until i disconnect the call.
Anyone have know of a similar bug?
Thanks in Advance,
Setro

[Q] Top speaker quality in viber

Hi,
I was using my old Galaxy s3 to call & txt fiance using viber in states, now that I have sold it to mazuma mobile I have used viber to call her for the first time on my z2 & I could barely hear her at all on the top speaker & had to put phone on speaker phone just to hear her , normal call quality is pretty good on mobile calls, volume was up full. She could barely hear me as well, I turned off noise cancellation in call settings & she could hear me a bit better but said it was still quiet.
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?
Cheers.
Have you tried moving the phone around on your ear? Sounds silly, but because of the placement of the speakers, its not as natural as other phones i've used imo (or maybe its how tall the phone is). I found the same issue at first, then i moved the phone around on my ear until the speaker and my ear lined up right and the sound was normal.
Yeah mate, moving the phone around my ear was first thing I tried, I don't have issues with normal calls but speaking to her on viber it's almost like the speaker volume is set really low & I could barely hear her at all, since I call her in the early hours I would rather not have to put the call on speaker phone.

Ah okay. I did a quick google search and it looks like its hit or miss for some devices, so it might be on their end. This thread has a Viber rep responding in it to the same problem, or at least a couple months ago he was(no real solution, other than reporting it).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307492
Also there's an app suggestion in there that a member says helped, and another one would be master volume (i think thats the name). I don't really use Viber, so i'm not much help other than that.
Cheers again for the reply mate, have checked that thread out & also posted in it hoping they will still be checking it, checked the apps mentioned in play store & most haven't been updated since 2011, I do think the issue is like you say more on Viber's end as the volume was fine on my now sold Galaxy S3.
Might have to check out Line or similar apps & get her to do the same as Viber is almost unusable due to this, connection quality was excellent all through the call so I think Viber just need to update or optimise it for the Z2.
Same problem man, here is a fix that worked for me, note 3 international version:

[Elephone S8] Loudspeaker issue

Hello to all,
I got an Elephone S8 for my girlfriend and in general I think you get a lot of phone for the price!
One thing I noticed is that whenever you have a WhatsApp call and you turn on the Loudspeaker on the Elephone S8 there will be distortions in the audio.
It is not hearing an echo or something it is more of a static noise and squeaking that can be heard every few seconds (it is not constant).
Did anyone having that phone also experience that problem so far ?
Same thing here, but only with WhatsApp calls and WhatsApp video calls.
+1 same issue (+ with Viber)
Only with Video call and turned on Loudspeaker
Same Issue

Yeah my girlfriend recently bought this phone too, I found she had the same problem with Whatsapp, skype and google duo voice and video calls.
Same sort of noises, static, video quality was terrible and a squeaking microwave high pitched noise intermittently.
When we switched her wifi off and used her 4g it was better but still similar issues.
The phone is amazing but this is annoying, i hope there is a fix for it as it is quite an important feature.
Has anyone resolved this?
I had distortion and noise issues on speakerphone until I realised I had the phone at full volume. Reducing the volume a couple of notches got rid of the feedback and resulted in much better call quality.
Don't know if this will resolve your issue. Good luck!

Call quality

When you call granny, does she keep saying "Huh?! Wut?!" or does the conversation flow pretty well? Rate this thread to express how you feel about the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1's call quality. A higher rating indicates that calls are clear and crisp, and that regardless of background noise, you can hear the other party clearly (and with ample volume) and they can hear you.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
frequent disconnections and loss of network
Did not expected this low quality network reception, also the phone looks buggy. you don't receive call many times, and you only realize this when other person informs you. need to restart to get it back. happened more that 3-4 times in 10 days of usages.
Sometimes i Can't hear what my girlfriend says. Her phone is good as I known. Any mod or fix to get over this problem
Yes same here call quality is not good many time other person cannot hear me properly
No problem at all! Indeed i have a very good quality audio in call. Which variant do you have? There are 2 on the asus site, A and B. I suppose mine is A version. On the box i have "4A-Phone" wrote on, and the A version is the only with lte band 20, necessary in Italy.
Yeah it happens sometimes with me too.
I am on stock v326 on 6gb version.
I tried holding where the mic can get sound exposure but what worked was kind of silly.
Just blow mildly into the mouthpiece and suck out mildly. The issue gets resolved. Earpiece too.
Whenever i find it happening for the earpiece and mouthpiece, I do this and surprisingly it works.
Maybe it will work for you.
Intially i thought i was covering the mic with my finger or due to the case that we put on.
Can't do anything for the network reception part unless Asus solves that part with better firmware. Wifi connectivity in long range especially is weird compared to flagships (obviously) but also to RMN5 pro and RN4 (both on miui though).
Maybe our software isn't optimized.
No issues at all for me
I do have the same issue. Everyone is complaining that they can't hear me well or the call quality is so poor or static...any way to fix this issue? I am starting to think I should have gone for some other phone choosing this Asus 6gb Zenfone max pro 1.
It's strange that I don't experience such low quality call. My phone is 3 GB version and can retrieve call all the time, though the sound I receive is a little bit crappy.

I'm also use latest version stock ROM. But because I rarely make/receive call so I don't mind it anyway.
My wife and I have the same model of the ZenFone max plus 1, and my sound quality for calls is very bad. When I get a call they say they can barely hear me even on speaker. Hers on the other hand really good. What we both experience is we do not get calls all the time. People have to text to let us know they call at times because it goes straight to voice mail and have a long pause before the call connects.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 supports EVS codec in Volte network, Jio does not have EVS and Airtel has EVS so call quality is excellent on stock ROM on all Indian networks except JIO.

I do not call so often, but every call has quality problems. Unfortunately, this is not a strong point of this phone.
