Ok so on my old Froyo phone I had the stock News and Weather widget from Google (aka Genie Widget). I've found a few different apk files online and none of them seem to work on my Photon. My phone is rooted and it seems to install the apk without any errors. However, when I try to load the widget/app I get the following message:
Sorry!
The application News and Weather (process com.google.android.apps.genie.geniewidget) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Anyone know why this isn't working for the Photon? I really love this widget, and miss having it on my phone.

Did you root with auto-noot? It installs the stock Android calculator app, which works great on mine.
Yep, the nearly useless AOSP Calculator works fine here too.
Now Droid48 on the NC. That's freakin' awesome.

HandyCalc is the best, does graphing, currency/unit conversion, etc... Completely rocks the ass off the standard calc or RealCalc.

This could be ANY ROM. It is just a LauncherPro/GoLauncher with custom homescreen and gingerbread icons (battery, signal etc).
The weather widget is called Snowstorm (free on android market)
Down below is agenda widget with transparent background and on the bottom is set of icons.

what happen to the google voice widget that has like a row of icons together? there was the inbox, compose, toggle use of gv, and do not disturb.... i cannot find it no more...i had it on my htc evo!! anyone else use this widget im talking about?? thanks

oh no, im talking about this widget...the little bar that you can turn on and off the voice or compose a msg etc..
Never even seen that. It may have been in an older version of voice that was lost during the updates of the app.

darn...i guess since i rooted my htc evo 3d back then i never updated the stuff on there too much...i liked that option, wish someone can get that widget made some how!
Someone can tell if your flayer brings widgets installed the application and the tasks in your flyer? and if so, what version of flyer?
Mine is only wifi, but does not bring the apk of tasks.
Please may we share the apk and see if I can install, I know I can install another application task .... but I liked that, I have it on my phone N1 sense rom 3.5, do not know if that's why you have it installed.
I searched Google and here but can not find .... I tried to install my phone on the tablet but failed.

The likelihood is that this will not work on the tablet due to mismatches in the sense versions, you could just end up with a whole mess of FC's
