Strange issue. I only get data on 4g, switch to cdma only and cannot pick up a signal on 3g. So any place I can't get a 4g signal, I don't have data. Any idea?

"CDMA only" is exactly what it says...just voice so not getting 3g with that set is expected. If you wanted voice and 3g without LTE then try CDMA w/ evdo.
Sorry meant CDMA auto (PRL) which should get you 3G data.

go into edit mode
Password 000000
modem settings
Rev A
Enable
Press menu and confirm settings
Reboot and your thunderbolt will be on normal 3g network that is shared by 3g only devices

The ehrpd network is down that's the fix give it a day and revert from reva to ehrpd I've had to do this a few times you won't lose 3 or 4g switching automatically, just handles the tradeoff a lot better. In other words ok to leave on LTE and evdo auto mode

I don't think I've used an EPST PW since I had a Windows phone & used CDMA Workshop to convert a TouchPro from Sprint to Verizon.....

Usually its just a couple settings to force 4g to work when it doesn't
This phone isn't nearly as bad as my thunderbolt

I need help on fixing this including many and still no results. My 3g keeps cutting on and off as soon as I go and try to browse anything. It's really getting irratating since I use my internet a lot. QPST settings are all done correctly.

Try change password for AN tab.. meid hex or SN.

i would say if your on gingerbread type this ##debug# and go to evdo or 3g engineering. goto the bottom of page and see if your authenticated. it sounds like you are not. if so verify your AAA and HA keys are correct in your MIP profile. and does cricket run on verizon or sprint network. if verizon you need to put a modified sprint/verizon prl on it so the phone dosent think its roaming.
I was messing around with my radios on the phone, I went into the setting for *#*#4636#*#* and also my epst using msl... I dont know if I screwed something up but I can't seem to get any signal whatsoever... I get a glimpse of 4G for a sec or two but I can't get cdma or even evdo... I didn't can't make any phone calls or anything... If anyone has any advise or ideas I will greatly appreciate it...

I did try that... Thank though... I tried factory reset and even tried to have sprint refresh the signal to no avail...

Go back into that menu and make sure you didn't set it to LTE only, set it on cdma + lte/evdo auto

My info in that settings are cdma+lte/evdo auto
Turn off radio
Turn on ims registration required
Turn on sms over ims
Turn off lte ram dump
Smsc______update refresh
Toggle dns check

That'ss weird, it's kinda hard to screw anything up in that menu. Did you change anything in ##3282#?

I think what might have done it though was out of curiosity in that settings of *#*#4636#*#* I pressed menu and change radio band to 1900 frequency but I changed it back to 800 frequency. But to answer ur question I don't think I changed much in ##3282# but I also reset it... I did change lte scan to 60

have you tried switching through the frequencies again? If so a sprint store that does repairs may be your only bet. I wouldn't bother trying to talk to a salesman though lol

Did you try ##72786# ?
Enter your msl
press menu
select reset
then ok.
It will reset your radio, reboot, and start the activation over.
Note: It only resets your radio, no data is lost.

Go into ESPT ##3282#, Go to EVDO tab, Preferred Mode tab, Check Automatic if it is not already checked, Go to menu and commit modifications, then reboot and see what happens

It needs to be on 1900. Change it to that an you should be all set.

I just tried changing it back to 1900...it looks like I have bars now but it won't make any calls...is there something else I can do to change that...im going to take a pic of the settings on the screen so u guys can see...also it shows an error on smsc...Im also positive that has to do with text messages though...

Uhh... You might want to edit out your phone number...and maybe your IMEI as well.
do the ##3282#
select edit
enter your msl
select data profile
change active profile to 1
press menu
select commit modifications
try updating your profile while connected to WiFi

Anyone know how I can get roaming to work? I'm rooted, s-off with 1.58 hboot. Whenever my phone switches to roaming, I can't make/recieve calls nor texts. However it shows 1x for data. Ive tried prl update, different roms and hard reset and none have solved the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated

At least your phone switches to roaming. I have to manual switch it, automatic mode doesn't work. Have you tried switching to Roam only mode? Are you on ICS, I wonder if the ICS update Borked roaming or sprint is trying to pinch pennys by making it difficult.

Id rather have 2 manually switch 2 roam, just as long as it worked when in roaming. I dont have the option in the rom Im using now and yes I have an ics rom. Yeah I think sprint is trying 2 pinch pennys. Even their service is getting to suck. 3G hardly ever works and calls are hit and miss to make/recieve and constant fail txt

I feel your pain, sprint service is going down hill. I live in a major metro area (St. Louis) and I am now experience no service or little service more and more.

Sorry, no solution, just to say I have same issue as you. Phone roams fine, but while roaming, data is nonexistent and sometimes calling doesn't work either.

Glad to see Im not the only one having the problem. I could live without the data while roaming. Its the calls and txts that matter. If I try making a call, I get a verizon error msg unable to complete the call and to power off and back on and txt fail to send.

No I haven't tried switching prl's. I'll give that a try, thanks for the info
EDIT: I called sprint and had them do an HRL reload. Heard that resolves roaming and error 16 code so, Ill see how it works soon enough. Usually thursdays Im in a roaming area so Ill update my results then

Will do..so far, no error 16 code but its only been a day. More concerned with being able to roam and not getting the verizon automated message and failed txts
