check superuser if u have permitted root explorer's root access!

i had a similar problem in the end i had to use pc companion to do a hard reset/system update and start again rerooting my phone superoneclick)and reinstalling ....last resort! i couldnt find a way round, fine now on froyobread.

1 - uninstall root explorer
2 - unroot(using superoneclick)
3 - restart
4 - root again(using superoneclick)
5 - restart
6 - install root explorer or via (ADB(optional))
7 - try to run root explorer (if superuser ask for permission just hit the allow button.)
(if does not work try to reflash your phone)

Is that for the 'free' root ex app?

Please remove this, it is a paid app, thus you post a warez.. If you want to share use other alternatives
Send from my MiniCM7 Pro v6 using Tapatalk

there are different versions of the root explorer...the original is v1.6 and runs perfectly on gingerbread. there is another version (v2.7!?) which doesnt work...

X10i Mini (E10i) xRecovery .apk Installer

I was reading these threads and couldn't find an easy installer for xrecovery on the X10i Mini (E10i).
I looked at zoz33 installer for the X10 and changed the files to suit the E10i.
So now you can just install this app and run it and it will install xRecovery
Requirements:
1. Phone MUST be Rooted.
2. Busybox installed (Easiest way is to install "Titanium Backup" & click on the "Problems?" button.)
If you are having problems installing: Open Root explorer (Free version here) and set /system to R/W then run the installer again!
NOTE: this has only been tested on my X10i MINI (E10i) and I don't think it will work on other models (Different CHARGEMON versions?!?!).
Please comment so I know if this works or not! Thanks.
Just tried it on my X10min E10i, it installed the installer then got a force close when I ran the program & clicked install..
Ran flashtool & clicked root this morning as well, it said root should be available..

Muspelheim for remouny job?
Hi there!
Thx for this nice work (I hope - haven't tested it yet)!!!
In case /system needs r/w remount - can muspelheim be used?
Since I don't have Root Explorer (no visa card) - I'd prefer this option..
Thx in advance!
Keep it up
Housefly
EDIT: Muspelheim will not remount /system as r/w - see known issue on the muspelheim homepage (sorry, but i'm not allowed to link yet)
However - I found this little app from beansoft - which appears to do the trick - for free - twitter(dot)com(slash)beansoft
Hope this is helpful..
I'm off to try getting Xrecovery working on the x10 mini..
Thx

xRecovery is a Hidden program - you access it by restarting the phone and AS SOON as the text "Sony Ericsson" appears - keep pushing the "<-" Back button. if it starts loading your boot animation then you either missed the time to push back or installation failed.
If you are not too sure on how to access or use xrecovery then please read a bit of info before you use it as it can stop your phone booting if used wrong!
Cool thanks for the help.
I ran exploid root now. got titanium backup & installed busy box
then when i ran xrecovery installer, it had a message pop up saying xrecovery installer has superuser permissions.
turned off phone, turned on again & pushed back button.. & nothing happened.
Will keep trying..
thanks

You have to push it more than once, right after the "Sony Ericsson" appears.
Keep pushing it (1 or 2 times a second)
THANKS...
Got it working.
Thanks again
I didn't get this apk-version to work. - I think it's due to the superoneclick rooter. - I get the cp: not found -error.
However I got the 0.1 beta to work using the older (and free) Root Explorer - attached somewhere in this forum - can't remember where - so happy searching if you need it

cp: not found is because you don't have busybox installed (cp is the copy command).
Glad to know that you sorted something out anyway!
I got a rooted phone, whit busybox installed like u said, taping the promblem box etc .. and the system folder set to R/W whit rootexplorer, I installed the xrecovery to my phone and when I start there the 3 boxes doesn t are checked in green, and the xrecovery doesn t installed, I looked in the system/bin folders on my phone and there are copied the 3 files: busybox, xrecovery.tar and the chargemon, Any idea what is going wrong ? (sorry 4 my bad english)
The .apk did not work for me. I followed the commands from the program screen manually in root explorer, and finally got xRecovery working. The problem was the last file, xrecovery.tar, It hasn't been copied by the script. I have busybox installed, X 10 mini 2.0.A.0.504, App2SD. Thank you
How can u write commands in root explorer, I never used it so i dont know, and I dont know how to see eventualy the sd card from the rott explorer

I don't write, hold the file, select "copy", navigate to destination folder, select "paste". Also, there is a folder "sdcard" in the main directory, this is the SD card.
Hey there
First, thanks alot for working on an apk for the xRecovery program
My problem, i cant get it to work.
1. I Rooted with SuperOneClick - worked.
2. Had Titanium Backup, so just downloaded BusyBox by using "Problems - worked
3. Installed the xRecovery.apk from Astro File Manager, program installed, had no errors.
4. Rebooted the phone, spammed the back button (3-5 clicks/second) - and i dont get the xRecovery option. Did a few times, still not getting it.
5. Tried so click the xRecovery program in the apps list, installed it again, this time it asked for Root rights, i approved - and the program shows in the "Superuser" program.
6. Tried rebooting again, tapping the back button like insane, still wont give me access?
Any ideas?

If the 3 files are in your /system/bin folder, then it worked.
You need to keep pressing the back "<-" button as soon as you see the "Sony Ericsson" logo (Push it 1 or 2 times a second).
If your bootscreen comes up then something is wrong.
If the 3 files are not there then you don't have R/W privelages for your /system folder or any sub-directorys.
Manual installation here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426

If your phone is rooted then navigate to /system/bin and at the top right there is a "Mount R/W" button, press it and it will set the folder to R/W.
If you are not rooted then you won't be able to open the folder.

X recovery on x10 mini pro

It's my first post and the system tells me to post here!
So i have x10 mini pro update to android 2.1 with SEUS, i rooted with superoneclick, now i want to install Xrecovery...i have the three files:
Xrecovery.tar
chargemon
busybox
I know that i have to copy them to system bin and then reboot, correct?
My questions...
1) I have AndExplorer and I can't change dir attributes..do i need root explorer in order to do this or there's a way also on andExplorer?
2)I have titaniun back up installed and so busybox but it's in the folder \system\xbin not \system\bin, so i have to copy the three files in bin or xbin??
Thanks a lot!!
titanium backup will work. it is xRecovery that will not work with another busybox. check the threads at the x10 mini section. if you can not access xrecovery, try getting the chargemon from the other thread, or if you know how, change event1 to event0 (which i dont know how).
I'm not on a Pro (just a mini) but I have found there are a few Windows apps and scripts to simply install busybox, root, Jit, Xrecovery etc on the mini and pro (single click operation) there is even an .apk for the mini to install Xrecovery..
If you search the threads you will find them.. shouldn't be any reason anyone has trouble with these simple mods.. with all the DEV work gone into making scripts and apps, even my girlfriend could manage it (if she had any interest in modding her Mini)
if you still want to do it the hard way (I guess thats the best way to learn).. Busy box is an important thing to get right, if you have installed it... look in your app drawer and find your installed "busybox" then open the app and click on Install (I don't know why you install it then have to 'install' it within the program but you do) or is it just me?
the 3 files should be in System\bin but you also need to change the permissions before you reboot.... more forum searching required if you want to find out how to do that without Root Explorer... the search feature is your friend and the best way to learn.. good luck.
hope that helps..

i installed root via superoneclock and installed xrecovery via flashtool, but didn't work well, than i installed xrecovery mini and it works great.
i am using an x10mini pro
stipey75
i had some of your problems too
1) Titanium use its own version of busybox. You can use an app called 'root checker' to see if busybox is installed properly
I had to install it, heres's link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946259
2) To change permissions i used a free version of root explorer

First, make sure you don't copy but MOVE. Copy won't work.

In this page there's a link an automatic installation of root and xrecovery, why don't you try that?
Had similar issues on my x10i flashtool wouldnt set up xrecovery correctly, so downloaded app from market, installed, then clicked install again, but the three checks stayed crossed. Rebooted phone, and then the checks got ticked second time round. Now running freex10 2.2 beta 4 from z. Ita amazing.

Where can I find the custom rom?

Hey guys,
The easiest way to install root and xrecovery is to download the newest version of flashtool. The newest versions have xrecovery and root for all version of xperia family (x10, x10mini, x10minipro, x8). They should not have any problems rooting or installing xrecovery. I would reinstall the laster fw via SEUS before using it tho.
Cheers,
evilbarcode.

[Q] cant find busybox in terminal emulator?

hi guys,
new to all this and have rooted my x10 mini mainly in order to remove excess apps that came with the phone (and i'm sure i'll start using root access for other things too!)
having a bit of a problem though...
what i've done so far:
updated from OEM 1.6 to 2.1 via sony webste
used SuperOneClick to gain root access
added SuperUser
added titanium backup and used that to download busybox
installed terminal emulator
in terminal emulator i enter su - and this gives me access fine.
however when i type in busybox it says not found. i've rebooted after every app installation etc.
i gathered (probably incorrectly) that this may be because busybox isn't in a path or something, so i would need to navigate to the busybox folder first? however i cant find anything called busybox on my SD card!!
help please!!
cheers, Adam
well i still cand find busybox, BUT.....
didn't realise I can browse root with ES File Explorer that I already had - gunna delete apps now
cheers!!
<edit>
scrap that, says i'm not allowed lol.

[Q] Problem!! Unable to install BusyBox!!

Hi Guys!! I've got a problem installing BusyBox here!!
I searched for the problem on google, but didn't find anything helpful, so thought someone can help here.............
The point was to get V6 Supercharger script running, which requires BusyBox. I already had BusyBox V. 1.19.2 installed, but as Zeppellin has described, versions above 1.18.2 could've caused problems, so I decided to install V1.18.2, via BusyBox app(by stericson) on market. It was unsuccessful to do the job, so i tried it with another app- BusyBox installer(by JRummy), but now this one is unable to detect root access!!!
PLUS, now root apps such as SetCPU, script manager are all getting FCs
I've already confirmed with the root access-- I am getting # sign with SU command.........
Please help someone.......Its all getting really weird!!!!
*EDIT*:- Now Wi-Fi not working too !!!!!---WTF????
You really make all things confusing better to clear data of superuser from settings and then flash older version of superuser and then use jrummy app to install busybox
Edit:Flash kernel again
Update su binary.
