ok im almost done with V5 when the phone first boots . you get the page to selecr language english or spanish. i have seen other cooks have the first load page say welcome to such and such rom. what file is that in so i can mod it to add my rom info....anyone know? i have started to check lib files but gosh there is so many . some direction would be great.

I am working on a similar thing for RC2 of my ROM I'm at work at the moment so I don't have it convenient, but I think it's HTCSetupWizard.apk or SetupWizard.apk or something like that in /system/app - however, if I remember correctly, it is disabled and doesn't do that by default (the Android with the animated hand) so you would need to decompile the app and enable it. It's a simple .xml edit, from my understanding.

you find it let me know. i have a few i have seen it enabled on and im sifting through those to apk's and still cant find the lines of text. even though i know they are there.

Got the dependencies working on the Touch Pro 2 files from the dumpity-dump, here's the Manila:

Same launch as the others-- open SIP keyboard while launching. The sure fire way is on Today->Items, open SIP keyboard before checking TF3D. Let's see if others can modify it faster than xboxmod (I'm busy with my ROM this will take take to resize)
EDIT: this is an OEM, not a cab, if you don't know what to do with it, then...
EDIT 2: this has not been resized, it's in CFC form, this came from the Dutty dump coming from SatScan.

There will be missing modules, like the contact card in the settings tab, I haven't played with it yet, and some dependencies still needed but we can't have (since this is from the dump some of the modules can't be cooked because of Bepe's kitchen). Still, it's running and maybe of use to skinners and for some like you who wants to try it out

yes. but it will work. you can still swipe left-right to go to the other tabs. it's just a preview and when it's resized the only thing we're going to be annoyed is the sip pop-up-- the engine is configured for portrait-lanscape so we won't have the landscape bug like with the Quartz/Blackstone engine.

tried to install you cab on my touch pro and it won't let it do.. well at the beginning all is okey but after around 30 seconds it says: installation was unsuccessful. the program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate.

as soon as i saw your post i did try.. it did find a sdkcerts.cab which i installed and then i tried to install the cab atomang made.. but i still get the same error.... or the same message...

I use Helvetica S font and want to use it in Jotre calendar (an excellent calendar by the way, give it a whirl if you haven't tried it).
I've dug deep with Root Explorer and can't find the .ttf anywhere, only the other bundled fonts (default and Rehotalko). I've got the apk, but obviously I can't "install" that into Jotre.
Am I missing something? Can it be done? I know Helvetica isn't a "free" font, but I thought that the .ttf must be there somewhere.
As always thanks for any assistance.
Maybe try nabbing it from here or grabbing it from your OS install.
or maybe try using apktools to rip open the apk and see if theres a tff in it

I'd seen those fonts, and many others, all the freebies are a bit meh, IMO.

Nahhh, by owning the phone you own a license to all the **** that came with it, not that I give a toss myself anyway
Attached are the tffs from the helvetica apk from KG6, I just blew the apk open with apk tools and found them in the assets\fonts folder
All is as well as it can be after a nightshift, Im gona knock myself out soon enough

Hello. Im a complete noob and im not sure if im posting in the right section but it seemed like it would be, so here i go.
My rock band app isn't fitting properly on my evo 3d. It works perfecetly control wise and game play. it just doesnt fit my screen and i was wondering if any of you guys no how to make it fit? Ive already tried the spare parts and compadabilty mode thing but no luck. :/ halp?
It isn't an easy fix... It would need the proper coding in the smali and xml of the .apk.
Hopefully the developers of the app are updating to qhd resolution.

If you decompile it you can but some of the smalis you wont be able to edit because they are read only meaning they are the core java and cant be changed through normal editting. You would have to use eclipse but I dont think you can import an .apk to edit in eclipse (I might be wrong on that).
If you send me the .apk I will look at it but I cant promise anything because me and smalis dont like eachother very much ...

There are a number of build.prop edits out there for various fixes. One such edit gives back the ability to make a choice of what program you want for a specific action. This was removed by HTC due to Apple claiming a patent infringement of patent #5,946,647. This patent is what caused the Evo 4G LTE to be stuck in customs.
Due to the nature of build.prop files containing many areas that can be tweaked, ROM devs tend to make different tweaks between ROM's. Until now this could have caused issues.
This script makes a backup of your current build.prop, and then EDITS IT IN PLACE.
What does this mean? It means you can flash THIS file on ANY ROM on this phone and it will not mess up any tweaks your specific ROM dev has put in place.
Why is this important? There are a number of build.props edited with this fix (and others)...some of them are from the stock ROM and some are from various other custom ROMs. Simply copying one over your current build.prop could lose you important optimizations, or custom fixes your dev has set up. By flashing this script you keep those customizations and still get the benefit of having your choices back.
Instructions:
To tell if this edit worked for you, check in settings. If the app associations menu option is gone, then it worked.
You will need to clear defaults for specific programs in order to have a choice pop up.
Example:
If you have selected Chrome for your default browser in app associations, you will need to go to menu/settings/apps/downloaded/Chrome/clear defaults.
The next time you tap a URL you will have a choice of which browser to use.

Thanks to Steal25 for the actual build.prop edits.
I am including two zip files. The first one will make the build.prop change to allow you to choose your own defaults.
The second one (HTCLinkify-revert.zip) will allow you to put your build.prop back to its default.
There are other build.prop edits out there and I will be creating ROM agnostic flashable zips for those as well.
Please let me know if there are any issues with this flash.
Edit: I have uploaded a new zip that should work with the latest OTA.

Yep, exactly. For people that have a hard time editing build.prop on their own, this will do the trick.
Plus it's the easiest way to re-implement the fix if your ROM dev updates the ROM but doesn't include it by default.
So I'm guessing you can only use this if your phone is rooted right ?

You can only manually edit the build.prop if you're rooted to begin with, so even if you choose not to do it this way, you'll still need root to make the change yourself.
To flash the zip requires root and unlocked bootloader since you need a custom recovery to flash zips.
Made a correction to the first post. It was Steal25 who came up with the original build.prop edit, not SteelH. Sorry Steal25!

Edit: thinking about this makes me realize just how bad apple effd HTC. I mean, if I was one of the vast majority of users who dont root and just buy a phone and leave it how it is, I would honestly probably return this device and buy something different. And that would be hard because i love HTC and this device. But, removing the 'complete action using' dialog is just not something I could live with. Apple really, really, screwed HTC... and end users. :screwy:

I've been following this issue, and it seems the build.prop fix also works for other HTC ICS phones. I assume this flashable zip would work for those phones as well, correct? Since it's editing in place, seems like it should work for all (One X, One S, Amaze 4G, etc.).

It should, yes. However I only had an Evo 3D and an Evo 4g LTE to test on, so I can't support other phones.
But as long as build.prop is in /system and contains the line ro.da1.enable=true this script should work.
Again though I can't test, so you're on your own.
Edit: One thing though: You'll need a modified updater-script. Right now I have 2 versions of this zip, one for Shooter (Evo3D) and one for Jewel (E4GLTE).
You'll need to modify the line at the top of updater-script to your own phone's model:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "shooter"
Replace "shooter" with "jewel" for the E4GLTE for example. Or you could simply remove the line. Should work fine without it.

This one already has jewel. If you want it for another device I can make a quick update for you, just let me know the device name. Or if you want to test it without the device check line I'll pull that for you and you can test it that way.

So it's the holidays and I'm very very poor right now. I've trying to think of things to make for my lady, and one thing that came to mind was an app! lol, she's on her phone a lot and she knows i love messing with my phone so I thought it'd be a cool idea to make her a custom app, something simple, maybe with a splash screen that shows a pic of us, and then into a love note, followed by some pics of us.
So that's my idea, I've tried making this on one app maker, the crappy conduit one, but every time i installed the APK on my phone (nexus5) it never showed any of the stuff i made on their site.
So here's the thing, does anyone know of a good and easy app maker I could use that would allow me to basically design it, and have it make the code for me, and the APK? I have eclipse setup on my system so i may be able to any editing and whatnot...but, seeing as time is a factor (i only have a few days) id love to get it done in a matter of a day at least.
any info or tips would be greatly appreciated, im no coding genius but i can follow directions quite well lol. Thanks!

i can help you get in to the play store if your intrested i have a developer acct ... im just not that good at coding so i could not be too much help on that end .... if you had more time i could build it for you but im slow.. but if you want it in the playstore send me the apk and ill see what i can do

oh nah man, i dont need it on the play store. this is just a personal thing for her. I would send her the apk to install on her phone (i'll probably be right next to her to show her how) and then she would just open it, read the note and swype through some pics of us. no i would need the java key for that apk file to edit it ..... it may be possible but im not experienced enough to know how to do that
