Installing Alien 3 ROM - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't seem to find another person on the planet that has this problem. Anyway every time I attempt to install the Alien 3 ROM, my phone goes into an infinite bootloop. I empty the cache/factory reset then install. Everything goes great until the phone reboots... Any help?

try this
try flashing the right kernel and radio before you boot. so go to the recovery, go to mounts and storage, click mount USB storage at the bottom, download the appropriate kernel and radio from the atrix development thread, and then ref lash alien, flash the kernel, and flash the radio. remember to clear dalvik cache before and after, and click fix permissions in advanced just to be safe.

How do you get to omfgb on ed01

How do you get to omfgb on ed01 I tried flashing cwr it only comes up once then wont come up again. Then im curius, will I lose all my apps and stuffw
It only comes up once because your stock kernel overwrites recovery after a reboot. To get it to stick, you have to flash a different kernel when it boots into cwm that first time. I'd suggest reading a lot more of the stickies, as well. Good luck!
Best bet is to read the related posts but since i am a nice guy!
1)Pop Battery and put into download mode and Odin CWM4 for CM7
cwm4-http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1190668
look for the "attached files" at the bottom of the first post
2)when odin is finished put the battery back in and hold down both volume rockers and the power...Dont let go until you see "Samsung"
3)Wipe files\factory restore, wipe cache, and in advanced wipe Dalvik cahce
4) flash the GB rom from SD card
GB- I assume you know which thread to get the rom at!!!
5)When the flash is done reboot phone from the CWM menu.
6) let it boot fully to the rom
If "Gapps" or Google Apps is not included
7) use the shut down menu to reboot into recovery
8) Wipe files\factory restore, wipe cache, and in advanced wipe Dalvik cahce
9)Flash Gapps for GB
Gapps-http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1191063
10)When the flash is done reboot phone from the CWM menu
11) Enjoy a GB Fascinate

Help help helllllppppp

Hi Guy,
I got a BIIIGGG problem.
After doing some VERY quick research i decided to get started by rooting and installing VillainROM, which worked lovely...no probs, however because there was a lack of themes (the main reason i rom'd the phone), I was swayed to go for Cynogen.
After downloading CM7.1 and installing through CWM my phone will not boot.
I have tried to do a factory reset through CWM, wipe the cache, and reinstall VillainROM but to no effect and stupidly i didnt backup my data.
Any advice on what i can do or have I bricked my phone?
What does the screen show? Can you get into download mode or recovery? Have you tried flashing the rom twice? This worked for me in the past.
Ricey
yep i can get into recovery and download mode, but when i boot the phone no joy
Ive tried installing the rom several times
Try formatting /data, /cache and /system from CWM recovery before flashing the new ROM.
If that doesn't help flash a stock ROM from Intratech's thread in the dev section via Odin.
1st- Boot into recovery.
2nd- wipe data/factory reset
3rd- wipe cache
4th- go to advanced/ wipe dalvik cache
5th- go to mounts and storage - format/system
6th- go to install ROM from SD card - select the ROM you'd like
7th- reboot system DO NOT TOUCH MAY TAKE A WHILE
8th- let it sit for 10 minutes once its booted so all the cache can build back up
9th- reboot, set up, and enjoy!!
Hope this helps!
Enzopreme you are a legend many thanks indeed

NEED Sense 3.6 ROM help? HERE!!!

I posted this. This is a fix for Sense 3.6 ROMS for boot loops OR if you want to flash the ROM without custom Firmware messing stuff up.

Or ask your question in this thread and I will try to answer it!
I flashed my phone to mean Rom ics 1.2 and I keep experiencing reboot like every couple of hours or so. First time I flashed, I did a dirty flash. Then I did a superwipe and started over from scratch and the same thing is happening. What can I do?
Hmmm....
Well, what recovery are you using. IF you are using 4-EXT recovery, I can help. If not, I still am going to say what I'd do.
I SUGGEST FLASHING 4-EXT, JUST SAYING.
1. Wipe Boot, System, and Data partitions individually. (In 4-EXT its under wipe and press each individual button (Wipe Data button, Wipe Boot button etc...).)
2. Wipe dalvik cache.
3. Flash your rom. DO NOT REBOOT
4. Flash kernel (AnthraX zip file)
5. Reboot and it should work.
I am using 4-EXT recovery, and HBOOT 1.50 S-ON.

Moving to Q&A
It's "normal" that you get a bootloop, pull the battery out, try to reboot phone again if it ends in a bootloop again, wait until led blinks blue and press vol down to go to custom recovery and wipe cache an dalvik. Then try to reboot again.
If you didn't make a clean install, best thing to do is wipe data, cache and dalvik, reflash the rom you want and try to boot again
OK

[Q] Stuck on bootscreen

Hey,
First off i hope i have put this on the right sub forum.
I've been stupid (I Think) I've olso looked around on the forum and the [READ THIS] Got a Boot Loop? Don't post a New Thread!
topic.
I'm using my SGS2 for a year now and was using the ressurexionRimix rom for a while.
I've been plaing around with my phone so i got lots of folder that were not used etc, so I wanted to get it back to factory settings, here is when all went down.
Via Settings-Backup and recovery i gave my phone a factory reset (while using the latest ressurexionremix rom, i think this is the misstake i made) When my phone went into the reboot is got stuck on the splash screen, it kept reapeeting the boot animation.
The second mistake i mad was not puting back my back-up but thought well i want it back to it's first state so i'll use ODIN to flash the stock ROM onto it. now, 4 hours later and about 10 trys with diferent versions of the stock roms i'm still stuck on the boot screen.
I've also tryd flashing a cwm so i could get in cwm recovery, this also without any luck
Does anyone have a idea what to do!?
go back to recovery - mounts andstorage and format the following :
cache, system, data, sdcards if you have it in recovery. reboot
you have a bkank screen as your phone has been wiped. reboot into download mode.
Connect odin and flash a stock rom. reboot and your phone should work provided that you have not damaged the flash chip on the motherboard.
Is this in CWM? the problem is i dont have that anymore because i've flashed it toc stok. I now get in the Android system recovery
The option i get there ar:
Reboot system now
apply update from external storage
Wype data/factory reset
Wipe cache parition
apply update from cash
test redbend fola[FS]
Will try this, thank..will let you know if it worked
Wiped data/factory reset and cache after this i ebooted my phone and i got the message installing application, now i'm in the setup menu. Looks like it is working.
Did'nt realice there was a recovery besides CWM Thank yoy so much Cosmic Blue!!! You saved my life!!
