[Q] Is there a StockROM for GT-P7510MA? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
New to Tab and rooting, so been playing with the different ROM’s All great, thanks. I followed the pinned guide, which was great. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089
However, I would like to unroot and get it back to original state. I tried the “[ROM]Stock US Retail WiFi” but it looks like that is for the IO version as the TW update wont apply?
I have the GT-P7510MA (VXAB) i.e. US version, 32Gb WIFI. So looking for the StockROM so I can restore it back to the exact same state that it was when opened. I will then like to apply the TW update OTA.
I have looked around and it seems like a few people are looking for it.
(or am I asking a stupid question?)
Thanks
Eric…

BUMP!
WHY ISNT THIS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE, WTF!!!!
My tab was going through a boot loop because of an update that failed for no good reason. So, then i decided to flash back to stock, only to find a handful of unhelpful people pointing to allegedly "US Stock" roms, most of which were for the European 32gb wifi model, with the exclusion of the rom stated in the first post. PLEASE can someone with a US wifi model just make a cwm backup so i can flash it and start receiving stock OTA updates again? Honestly i'm BEGGING at this point.

Looking for this too

Guys, I've done a bit of googling and this page has a link to a stock 3.1 OTA rom. I have not tried it myself (not rooted) and I don't know for sure if it's a US rom, perhaps someone can take a look. It is on a US hosted website, so maybe it's OK?
http://galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-unroot-your-galaxy-tab-10-1/

That guy as well many other sites take the information from XDA. You can always download the files and do a checksum check to see what comes up with. Look also at the DroidBasement files.
I respect your choice to use the TW update. Personally, I find it fills your tablet with insane bloatware, not to mention the ugly theme. If you want the TW update, I would recommend you to use the Starburst ROM, which has the TouchWiz applied and is like a zillion times better compared to stock ROM.
Still, for the love of God... why would you want TouchWiz on your tablet? It is a HUGE step backwards, not to mention it breaks the Android keyboard. OK, it improves a little the quadrant scores... other that that, is pure garbage IMO.

well as far as I know and from searching XDA, there is no stock clean 3.1 ROM For the GT-P7510MA yet, unless i'm mistaken

Thanks, I am currently using Starburst ROM which is great, but there are many reasons why we would want to restore back to factory state.
Warranty return
Selling the device
Test if the Custom ROM is causing problems. (see my screen problem qstn in the other forums)
etc...
So while I understand that there are better ROM's, it would be good if the stock ROM was available.

Thanks, but tried that one as well and its not the right ROM. That is the IO version ROM. Same as in the root guide here

This is the touchwiz ux rom: http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/touchwiz-ux/hc-3.1_touchwiz_ux-full_sam_tab_10.1.zip
And this one is the stock honeycomb rom: http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/sys-backup/hc_31/hc-3.1_ota-full_sam_tab_10.1.zip
Both are the latest of their kind, for the wifi tab, I tried both and they are 100% stock, not rooted roms.
Then flash back the stock recovery with ODIN, and you can send the tab back to Samsung, they won't be able to detect anything.
Bye.

Great Thanks will try them out.
When you tried the "stock Honeycomb ROM" could you apply the TW update and the second update as well?
Thanks

I have not tried that, but I can't see why it wouldn't work, provided that you flashed back the stock recovery with ODIN.
OTA updates don't play nice with clockwork recovery...

The reason I ask is that the stock recovery download link provide is exactly the same size as the IO version so I'm assuming its not the P7510MA version.
I haven't had time to try it yet, but doesn't look like its the right one.
TW update is not available on the IO version

Back to stock but no TW?

I recently rooted my Galaxy Tab 10.1 32GB WiFi, tried to install BusyBox (from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtnYqAQa0ek&feature=channel_video_title) but it ended up screwing up my display on boot with all kinds of random colors making the thing useless.
So I went and returned to stock from here: http://galaxytabhacks.com/galaxy-tab-10-1-hacks/how-to-unroot-your-galaxy-tab-10-1/
This worked, then I went and checked for updates and it installed a ~11 MB file but it does not have touchwiz. Before I screwed my tablet up I did have touchwiz. What gives? I keep checking for updates but it says there's no updates. Why do I not have touchwiz?
I had this same problem and it forced me to have to put on someone's stock rom again when I really just want the REAL stock rom like I had never tried to hack my tablet. Is there anyone who can offer a walkthrough of how to do this process properly because as the original poster says, if you follow the link above, you end up not getting TW nor any further updates. If you follow the link above, the tablet ends up in a Google I/O tablet updates state and that's not what we want. We want our retail WIFI tablets back to fresh out of box status.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
I'm in the same boat. I unrooted my tab to send it in for repair. Now, it just says "No Update Available".
Yip I have the same problem thanks for bring this up to community hopefully someone can help us

Follow the instructions on this website http://p7510.teamovercome.net/?page_id=18 but stop at the section that begins Installin’ The Overcome ROM…

There is no such thing as someones stock rom. Its either stock(not altered, not changed, untouched) or it isn't.
You can get stock roms either here at xda or on www.sampro.pl or www.samfirmware.com and flash with odin.

[Q] - Why can't I find the Stock Touchwiz - only the old honeycomb

I would like the files to ODIN the stock Touchwiz update from late 2011.
I would then write a guide for everyone on how to return the tab to stock... this is asked way too much.
I do NOT want to write the guide updating everyone to the old honeycomb.
Anyone have ODIN files for returning to stock touchwiz?

"Stock" and "touchwiz," at least on this forum, are mutually exclusive. I honestly have no idea what you're asking for. Do you want android 3.1 or 3.2? If you want 3.2, you're stuck with touchwiz; there is no stock 3.2 ROM available. If you want a stock 3.1 without touchwiz, that can be found in the dev forum.
If you want a guide on how to return a tab to stock (and the only reason I can imagine someone would want to do this would be to send it in for warranty service), theres a guide in the sticky in the dev subforum, and also team overcome has a great method with all the downloads both on their ROM post and on their website (with great instructions too).
Simply asking for an ODIN version of the TouchWiz update. That is stock... not rooted/tweaked.

I think you need to read up on this a bit more because that doesn't exist.
Here's a little history for you: Touchwiz was an update to samsung's android 3.1 build that came out after 3.1 was released (so you can get both stock 3.1 and touchwiz 3.1 builds). Touchwiz was integrated into the 3.2 build. So the only "touchwiz upgrade" i can think of was an OTA upgrade to 3.1. I don't think flashing that will get you anywhere. If you're looking for the stock 3.2 build from samsung (and I suspect you are), go to samfirmware.com. If you really did search the forum you'd have found this everywhere, including in the sticky in the dev forum.
But there's no need to write a guide. Use CWM to flash the stock ROM, and then use ODIN to flash stock recovery. That's all it takes; you now have a stock tab.
^ I appreciate your response... I am just pointing out that I have never seen the touchwiz stock ODIN that one could flash... only honeycomb.
edit: and considering that almost daily there is a post about getting back to stock, I would say a guide is warranted.
If you can help do that, great.
coming from this same line its also helpful if the instruction would be basing from the download of the recent or older firmware, which should be from the downloads from sammobile.com that we all know provides all the stock roms, latest and versions before.
reverting stock means, the latest official: recovery (not cwm), kernel, and the firmware (rom) itself. these all 3 components, not kernel or firmware only. nothing straightforward is provided here, all bits and pieces on scattered threads but don't coherently work well with each other, mainly because they're abandoned or not updated anymore by their OPs.
another reason for reverting back to stock aside from warranty chase, is so that kies will be able to just update the tab to its latest firmware, or even ota. this is basically how the tab provided by samsung should be for a really basic end user without even knowing what root is.
then above average users can always do their rooting and after mods cleanly, knowing they came from the real clean stock and can always go back either by cwm backup/restore or manually everything from scratch.

This is not intended as a flame, but from what you've written I am not certain you understand what you're talking about. Touchwiz is basically Samsung's theme running on top of honeycomb. No honeycomb = no touchwiz. Also, you still need to make a distinction between 3.1 and 3.2 ... Regardless, as far as I know there is no touchwiz-enabled ROM that can be flashed with ODIN.
Anyways, there is a very good guide on teamovercome's site which is unfortunately down right now. Here's a link to the site; since it's down I can't link directly to the guide:
http://www.teamovercome.net/
^ I am perfectly aware of what TouchWiz is.
I am simply trying to find the files to load in ODIN that would allow someone to boot up to the stock (not rooted or debloated) setup of the TouchWiz update in late 2011.
I do not want to go back to honeycomb 3.1. Not sure how I can say it more plainly.
Does this exist? If not in ODIN, in a flashable zip?
here's a 3.2 stock (non rooted) ROM

The 'touchwiz update" was for 3.1.
3.2 came with touchwiz baked in.
If this is what you're looking for, then you're looking for the samsung android 3.2 update, not the "touchwiz update." I don't know how I could say this more clearly.
If you read my posts, I answered your question. What you're looking for does not exist. If you need stock (god knows why) just follow the many guides that already exist (or the instructions I gave earlier).
Anyways, I can't help you any further without pulling my hair out. Maybe someone else has more patience. Good luck.

Honestly man, it may be better to not answer at times.
You do not understand me. Perhaps I am not saying things clearly enough. O well.
I want the files to return a device to STOCK 3.2.... not 3.1 Honeycomb which is all I see. I consider "stock" to be an unaltered version of the update (or original) firmware... I also prefer to go to the latest "stock" setup, not 3.1 HC.
You said it does not exist, I laugh at that.
I would like this because many people:
a - ask this all the time
b - want it for servicing/warranty
c - prefer to return to stock before switching to a new rom.
I prefer to use ODIN since I know and like ODIN.
If this does not make sense, do not respond or sound rude please.

I believe this is KMM not KMN. If so you may get an update to KMN after you flash this
it is labeled as KMM but this would be the stock first instance of 3.2

I did check out that zip... It looked like it was the one Samsung pulled for wifi issues. I know like a week or so later they rolled it out again, but I did not know if there was a different build, I assumed so.
Thank you for posting that by the way, got carried away with all the other madness. Thanks!
note the wifi problem was due to the installer not the rom itself. if flashing and not installing via OTA or Kies - it should not have that problem

[Q] Is it worth installing NottachTrix4G?

I'm thinking on installing NottachTrix4G on my ATT Atrix. It's currently rooted, and unlocked, running 4.5.91.
I can't seem to find any reviews or recommendations for NottachTrix4G.
Can anyone comment on their experience with it, if you already have it? Also, is there an install guide somewhere?
Thanks
Welcome to the forums! Read the actual thread for Nottachtrix. The developer is very much so respected, and has a huge number of fans that use his ROM, your best bet is to just give it a shot and use it for a day or two to see if you like it. Don't forget to nandroid back up your current setup before wiping anything that way you you can very easily switch back if you are dissatisfied. All it takes is a SEARCH, figured I would be the nice one before you get flamed with a million "Use search!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" replys
Info
There is some info about Nottach Trix on here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430608
and here:

Also if you used and liked Darkside and/or Wet Dream you are 95% likely to enjoy Nottach Trix.

I moved from Wet Dream to Nottachtrix. So far, I've found the rom to be completely solid, all features working as advertised and without glitches on my end. At whatever point he releases his compatible ICS theme, I'll be a very happy camper.
About the most painless way to get up to 4.5.141, I'd say!
Is 1.2.3 the most current Version?
And Sheepacurious, what state were you at before?
unlocked BL?
Rooted?
4.5.93?

Unlocked bootloader, rooted, the dev post says Wet Dream was 4.5.140. Had to back up apps and SMS data, obviously, but you don't have to "get your phone back to stock" in order to flash this rom -- just make a nandroid backup and give it a shot.

Its very nice rom the wayt it comes and you can choose what you want to add or remove its really great you should try it.
You can also go in and freeze more processes as well and right now man i got about 520 mb free and scoring around 6300 on antutu.
Its not like cm7 builds but you can use webtop and an alternative if you want to stack stock mainly for me its because i use my webtop.
try it it's pretty cool
I thought wet dream was awesome, this ROM is even better. I just downloaded it today and no complaints.
+1 for you to download.

Previous State
ROOT, UL BL, 2.3.4/4.5.91, Alien ROM
I accidentally hit the update option when it popped up on the screen instead of hitting later. Then I the wifi off on my phone and that prevented the update from being downloaded. I tried to do a couple of things to prevent it from downloading
1. Freezing Upgrader 2.3.4 using TiBu - This did not work.
2. Using CWM - Cleared cache etc and this did not do the trick either.
So, I finally gave up and used UncleCemka's guide to upgrade to 4.5.141 (2.3.6) and it was successful.
So, present state
ROOT, UL BL, 2.3.6/4.5.141, Stock.
Can I flash NottachTrix4G? The thing I miss the most is the WebTop over HDMI

Yes. It'll work fine. It doesn't mess with the webtop partition, so you'll need to re-do the HDMI exploit or flash the 2.3.6 webtop fruitcake which has that fix worked in.

Here you go. It's the Fruitcakes thread over in the dev forum.
now: you took the OTA update, which I'm pretty sure updated your webtop as well. The webtop fruitcake says 4.5.140; this may or may not be precisely the same version as your current one. With that in mind, I might try redoing the webtop-over-HDMI hack first since it's a pretty simple procedure and keeps your current version intact.

[Q] Alternative to CyanogenMod 11

I've been running CyanogenMod 11 for about a month now. I like it a lot, however there are instabilities. Youtube cannot play videos at all, for example; Snapchat totally fails to work; and one or two apps I've tried to install wouldn't even open. Occasionally a program will crash with a "Such-and such service has stopped" error notice.
Can anyone suggest a more stable ROM? I'm a newbie to flashing, I'm not experienced or interested in trying out different ROMs. I'm not a power user, I just want a stable, reliable ROM. Is cm11 known to have the issues I'm experiencing? Can anyone suggest an alternative?
Thanks.

Nightly is the first "Official" status of a device from CM. If the device is very stable, with all system working properly and with minimal buggy behaviors CM begins building the ROM officially as a "Nightly" assuming the dev is following best practices etc.

You are not right, I for instance have stock ROM on my Mega and I am quite satisfied... Ohhh, maybe I'm a little lying... :silly: it is MegaFireMj2V5 from megalomanic14 which is based upon a stock ROM but is greatly improved - if you are looking for alternative to stock or CM11 rom's it's worth a shot.
As for return to stock ROM - be careful to choose right version: all new firmware (beginning from CNA1) are 'enhanced' with new bootloader and Samsung KIES which is new security system. If you upgrade your Mega by Kies or by Odin with newest firmware you will be lacked possibility to downgrade AND every attempt to root or flash custom recovery will result in tipping flashing counter without any possibility to clear it. So be extremely cautious if you want to mod your Mega with no problems.
You can choose older firmware on Sammobile an flash it thru Odin - then you will have fresh stock ROM on your unit. There are many tutorials how to do it.

I've been on Sammobile and selected "I9205XXUCNA2_I9205BTUCNA1_BTU.zip", which I intend to install in the next couple of hours unless anyone on here screams at me that I shouldn't! I'm in the UK with a GT-i9250, so I believe that's the right version for me.
To be honest, I'm not worried about tipping the flashing counter (if I even understand properly what that means). I rooted my phone some time ago, and liked that. Two weeks ago I decided to try Cyanogenmod since I've never used a different ROM. I wasn't impressed, and have decided I want to go back to Samsung original. If, in the process, I prevent myself from ever being able to flash another alternative ROM, or I void the phone's warrenty in any way, I can live with that.

OK, it's your choice... in fact newest firmware do not offer nothing new but bootloder without return and KNOX. CNA2 it's firmware with KNOX embedded. For mundane user this means nothing special, but for somebody who plan to root and mod it could be pain in... Try to read a little about rooting firmware with KNOX... but as I said, you are warned... tipping counter means setting flag which shows to e.g. service so there was installed unofficial software and it means so you are lacking your warranty. With firmware with KNOX this is irreversible because setting such flag physically burns efuse in system making hardware change. Cheers...
I stay on firmware without KNOX because of possibility to change ROMs and easy install custom software. Waiting for KK which for sure will have 'new type' bootloader and then will be no choice...

You make a good case, and perhaps I should install an earlier version, then. Thanks. However, I've looked on Sammobile and they seem to offer only the latest version. Where can I download an earlier KNOX-free version, please?

Agreed. You guys have convinced me that I should be flashing an old version of Samsung, not the latest with KNOX. But I can only do that if I can find one! Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Hmmm, you are right... In such case i recommend you to install custom ROM MegaFireMJ2V6 made by megalomanic14 on basis stock MJ2 which you can find HERE.
Actually I am using this ROM and can say it is very good - looks like stock but is much faster. It's rooted already. Version X offer firmware stripped from unneeded apps to the extent.

Thank you very much. Most of that sentences was Greek to me, but I get the idea! The truth is, I put my foot into the water of flashing custom ROMS, and decided it wasn't for me. I just want one, reliable ROM that I can live with for many months without having to change it. That's why I decided to go back to Samsung, because there were too many bugs in Cyanogenmod and I don't want to start testing one ROM after the next. I just want to install a reliable, bug-free ROM now, and have done with it. So you think that MegaFireMJ2V6 would be such a ROM in my case?
PS:
It seems MegaFireMJ2V6 can't be downloaded from that link anyway?
Type your phone model in the link below and choose the one you want. Create a free account if you need faster download speeds.

Thank you, but I've tried this several times, and the only download available is the most recent.
You are wrong. It shows all the firmwares released for a model. I can see all the releases for GT-I9200. Attached is a screenshot of the older firmware without knox....
As far as I understand it, these are all the same ROM, simply different versions for different countries. When I put in my phone, GT-i9250, I am presented with a similar page, but it's only the one ROM; 4.2.2 with KNOX.
Ok man, I am done trying to explain things to you. The list you showed only displays Knox firmware, but what you said is not true. Here is another site with older firmware displayed for the I9205. There is no I9250 model Mega afaik..

I apologise if I have offended you in any way, that certainly wasn't my intention. I'm simply new to all of this and don't understand it well. I appreciate the new link, and thank you for your help.

[Q] Am I able to flash This?

I'd like to know if I'm able to flash this rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50359886#post50359886 )
I have root & never have updated so still on 4.2.2. (I also have MDK for my kernel, so that's good.....)
It's also been a long time since I've flashed so was wondering what recovery I needed for this & what I need in case I mess up something.... Thanks!

Yes, you can do that. I believe the kernal is built in so no need to flash another one.

Thank you so very much for replying!!! I Was going to reply on the main thread but need 10 post lol.... I'm not active and I've made my account in 2010 you'd think though I'd have 10 post by now xD.... thanks a lot though!
Edit
Can you direct me to a flash file in case I mess up? I use to have all of this stuff and my computer crashed and it's been so long I don't remember how s4 works I'm doing it for my uncle cuz he said he's s4 is slow and rebooting a lot and going into safe mode. Also is there a throttle mod maybe like for the lg g3 wher it won't throttle until hit like 75c?
Edit 2:
Never mind I found this http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2013/08/flash-firmware-for-galaxy-s4-odin.html .
But what about some cool mods to use to speed up stuff like I said before a throttle mod? Thanks.
Edit 3:
What's the difference in 4.4.2 and 4.4.4? I have the lg g3 on 4.4.2 and love it but want the best so the phone runs smooth.
edit 4:
is the latest version dark too?
Get a MDK no wipe tar and Odin 3.07. The original Oein site is overtaken and I got viruses from it...
Unsure about a throttle mod. Never used anything like that. Little difference between 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 but under the hood stuff. Unsure about what you mean with the latest version being dark. Look at the ROM info. I'd suggest cynanogenmod IMO if you don't like Echoe

Yeah I'm just looking for a stock rom that has kitkat that is stable to run smooth and only one I came across was that one I found. (I don't think the galaxy s4 got much love in the rom department. . . But it was a great phone : )
Thanks. I got an idea now
