Try MoboPlayer. In terms of audio, do you mean audio control or audio increase?

Try PowerAmp. It's equalizer can boost volume.
Also, you can always buy a better headphone set. The ones that come with the box are very silent but good headphones need no amp adjustment.
I've tried them all - but i can confirm that VitalPlayer is the best!
So PowerAMP, Vital Player, Mobo Player, cool.
Will try them out one by one. Nice thread.
Regards.
+1 Mobo Player
That's what I've been using for a while, I like it
PowerAmp for music and Mobo for videos
Thank you all for the reply.

hello all
can we improve our ace's audio codes so that we can get good quality sound in headfones using CM7.1?
Hello you, how is the sound bad?
Yeah, how is the sound bad?
You're refering to a equilizer, aka dsp manager in CM7

Not sure about installing codecs but there is apps which support a lot of music formats! Just search through the top rated apps.
Since you are using CM7, check your "DSP manager", the options there will let you improve the audio.
I tried dsp manager but i found poweramp giving better sound
Well, there you go. I personally like Player Pro DSP better(even though im not using it).
It is like even of u activate bass bosster in dsp bas in annoying
hello
i am using AUX in of my radio to listen to GPS indications from my galaxy s3. i listen music from galaxy player at the same time.
the problem is that i cannot have different volume for GPS and music...so when GPS gives instructions it is not very clear because of the music.
is there any way to have different volume (for GPS - sygic) and music player or radio player?

Although I do know that you can play music in Sygic, although you probably agree with me that that isn't a fix.
Hope this helps

Their is a louder sound mod on the original development forum for the last few months that enables you to alter the sound settings
Siyah kernel also has loud sound tweaks .

Hi,
Wanted to know if there is any software that is better, or improve what comes on the phone to hear the mp3. Use beats by Dre headphones.
I know that there is Voodoo Sound and other, but it takes root and I do intend to have the original hardware.
Thanks
Try installing yanks kernel and boeffla sound app

Check this out. Expands the sound features already present on our S8/S8+. Quite neat.

That's what I need for BT music using play music.
You can make headphones louder by using adapt sound. It customizes sound based on your hearing ability.

I listen more on my trucks radio and would like to improve sound level and good base. I notice when I increase base with built in app it causes the sound to decrease a little.

I recommend "neutron". It costs a few bucks but it is the best "music player" I've used. Mainly for the reasons you mention. It comes with built in EQ AND preamp to not only increase volume but also to increase "signal strength" or "gain". It basically has a preamp. It also has settings that adjust the preamp automatically(if 1 song is stronger than the other and the app senses "clipping" it will reduce the gain automatically.)
I have no affiliation with the app it's just the only 1 I've come across that has the EQ and gain features needed to boost the signal.
Note: I've never connected to my car via bluetooth but the features I mention work no matter if I'm using the earphone jack or the phone speaker so they should work when connected via BT as well.
on edit: The "signal" could be decreasing when you increase the bass because the app senses "clipping" or "distortion". So it's not the volume that decreases is the signal strength or "gain" like on an amp. Check the sound settings and see if there is anything that controls "clipping" "signal strength" "dither" "gain" or anything like that.

Sorry about the confusion. These setting are separate settings outside of an EQ. These would be settings in a particular "music player". As I stated finding these settings in a basic music player is rare which is why I recommended "Neutron". Your music player may just "reduce signal strength" when distortion is detected to keep the average listener from blowing speakers by turning the EQ settings up to high(or the tone settings bass/treble).

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. But one question. I'm subscribed to Google Play Music how can I increase the level from Google music app?
The songs downloaded are not recognised by 3rd party Music Players. Even Poweramp is not recognising it.
It is pretty clear that the device has the potential to deliver the best audio at an optimum level but people at Asus are giving a deaf ear to this. I guess a little bit of coding or just a software update can sort the problem. Or some hack might help.

When i will get time i will try to boost sound at kernel level.......
Or just use viper4android or something like that, the dolby atmos, or other sound mods are also available. They work systemwide. I haven't tested and don't know any will work or not. Report here if someone tries.
Poweramp Hi-Res Output will only work if Viper4FX is not installed. With Viper the audio is capped at 16 bit, uninstall it and experience 24 bit audio. It does make a huge difference for high quality music files (lossless .FLAC). Happy with my Shure SE 215 now.
Viper ,Dolby are capped only upto 16bit 48khz ..,..
Poweramp uses its own build DSP to trigger 24bit 384khz of sd636 built in DAC bypassing Nxp smart amp.....
Poweramp is dope......none can match its sound quality.....
I hope that Nxp smart amp support 24bit 384khz audio seraching a way to implement it
Works amazingly man. Now I can finally retire my Mi A1.
Works nice...but after enabling.... I can't control it's volume. Even with system media volume to zero....songs play at maximum sound.
