I have an LG Phoenix P505 on froyo and it is rooted. I want to install ROMs and create a backup through ROM Manager but my phone isn't listed there. So can someone tell me if it is safe to use the LG Optimus One P500 ROM for the Clockworkmod recovery?
nothing in this forum is safe for you to use unless stated otherwise. the only thing i have seen that is meant for your phone is this. flashing anything on your phone that is meant for the p500 will cause you to brick your phone or create a lot of problems that you will never want to find uot
Hey guys...

Hi you!
I installed ROM Manager. When I choose Backup current ROM, it requires installing of ClockworkMod Recovery. After choosing Install, a list of fone model appears: Huawei Pulse Mini, Dell Streak, etc... I cannot find Optimus One nowhere in the list.
Which model should we choose or how can we put P500 into the list?
nice question I want to know either...??? but BE CAREFUL cause I ve bricked my Optimus one once with that crap called ROM MANAGER
There is a custom version of ROM manager you're supposed to use for Optimus One, I saw it before but there wasn't a lot of confirmation that it was reliable. If you're looking to root/custom recovery use this link. Most people on the forum have tried these methods and can confirm that it will work. It even list problems you may have and how to fix them. =)

Oh, it'd better not use this guy (Rom Manager) hehe! I've done custom recovery and performed a nandroid backup
I'm not sure where to post this sorry if I added an unneeded thread all. However, I needed to know if the Lg Optimus C from Cricket will work using some of the other Optimus Roms such as Optimus V and such. I know they are the same phones different carriers, I also know the source codes have to match for the roms to work (or something like that).
I am asking this question cause I plan on buying the Lg Optimus C, however, I don't want to buy the phone if I can use custom roms and themes and such with the phone. I know I can boot the phone into clockworkmod recovery, Just not sure if there are any custome roms on this site that I can use with the phone that will work with Cricket service.
I do have slight experience using clockworkmod and flashing roms using my Zio M6000 Cricket phone, but haven't messed with an Lg Optimus C at all yet.
Any answers to my questions would be greatly appreceated. Thank you.

CM7 ported to LG optimus C
here is a thread concerning the port of AOSP cyanogenmod v7 to optimus C (that is a gingerbread ROM) if you are interested, that is the only thing i have seen here.
For the life of me I can't find a Clockworkmod version for my girlfriend's L40G. I have it rooted, but I'd like to put a different ROM on it, as it's very slow. Any help would be wonderful. Is there a CWM that will work for this phone?
I think you should use different ROM
I have just rooted my phone and installed cwm , i need to install any custom rom on my lg optimus l7 p715, is it necessary to unlock the bootloader for that ??
, if yes
then is there any way to unlock bootloader on lg optimus l7 p715 or to know if its already locked or unlocked ??

If you already have CWM installed, then you're all set to install the custom ROM. Just make sure to run the Nandroid backup from CWM before the upgrade (better safe than sorry).

It means you have replaced the recovery to one that allows you to upgrade your ROM among other things (CWM that is).
Regarding custom ROMs - that's the big question: There are nearly no custom ROMs for this device, or rather to the L7 II series. If you browse the Android development section, you'll find some custom ROMs, but they are all based on the current 4.1.2 one. There's also an MIUI ROM for your device, about which you can read at the end of this thread. According to other threads here, LG has announced it would upgrade the L7 II series to KitKat somewhere round August (which should be any time now), so I guess the best thing to do would be to wait for it (as I do).
