Im trying to root my tablet WITHOUT activating it through the simcard and i cannot figure out how to do it I was wondering if anyone else found a way to bypass the stupid SIM activation. I followed the steps on GALAXYTABHACKS.COM and i CANNOT go into recovery to install the zip file the screen just gives me the green android guy for software downloading and the other icon with the android logo and the white box. the tab conects to wifi fine through the settings and im able to download apps though the market and open them only through the market since i cant see the home screen at all. I managed to download the ZIP file into the sd card via dropbox but im just stuck now.
I wanna either bypass the stupid activation or root it then activate it later.
anyone? I'd appreciate the help. Any time of help lol
Did you select the Android + box? That's what you have to do. Follow the instructions here: http://www.fun47.com/verizon-4g-lte-samsung-galaxy-tab-rooted/
yea it keeps saying error 401 on the link when i go to the site. and when i click on the android + icon nothing happens just a blank screen
Hmmm, strange, the site works. Did you try to access it from your Tab or from a computer?

When the tablet ask the activation, just tape on the screen on each corner (up-left, up-right, down-left, down-right) and volume down (the right button in volume) and you're tablet will pass the activation.
I've done it on my own tablet and it works perfectly. If you need more help, I remain at your disposal.
Sincerely,
Avalon

tape on the screen on each corner together or just one by one ?
can u record a video for proof
i tried same u say many time but cant ( today 4G galaxy tap 10.1 verizon
bypassing 4g
Tap on the corner of the tablet in this order when it boots up
top left
top right
bottom left
bottom right
I am recalling from memory
for the final step
after above procedure
hit power or
hit vol up or
hit vol down
This means you will have to do this at least 2 more times that usual but, one of these sequences will work.
This will then bypass the 4g setup and go into wifi setup for the initial setup of the tab....
Hello, I’m having this same issue. I factory reset the tablet, and I keep getting an error message. It says “SIM Initialization error” a SIM card is needed to operate this tablet. Please turn off your tablet and insert your SIM card.” I do not have a SIM card, and would like to use the device with wifi instead. I have been unable to get the trick with touching the corners of the screen to work. Is there another way to bypass this screen? Or can someone post a video showing me how to do it right?

Hello Everyone!
Just got a Atrix over ebay, inserted my sim and now I cannot seem to login via Motoblur
Since I had the account on it previously ( on other atrix ), I skipped the register button also, now I cannot even go back, every-time it greets me with moto blur login window and even though my username and password are correct and I am connected to a open wifi, It always tell me that the username or password is wrong.
What to do now? I am stuck
Try login from pc .
Thanks for the quick reply.
But yes, I am able to login on a pc but not on atrix.
Anyone else please? Any ideas? I am using this outside of US, so that can be a problem, any way to get around it?
I would try flashing a new ROM either by CWM or using RSDLite.

+1 master reset. The other persons moto account is on the phone. The reset clears all data. Power off phone, hold down volume button and power on the phone. When the m shows up with fastboot in top left corner, press volume down till you get to recovery, then press volume up. You will see the android logo in a triangle, press both volume buttons to open menu. Select master reset from menu.

Only thing I can suggest is to unlock the bootloader then install a custom rom that doesn't have crapblur
Try the following:
Need a MotoCast ID?
Go to Settings > Accounts on your Motorola Android phone and select MotoCast ID, or visit mymotocast.com and download and install the MotoCast desktop software.
Grabbed that from their Website. Should be able to create an account once you download the software it appears.
I had similar grief when I had my sim card replaced even though its the same service number, motoblur actually pairs the SIM ID + Service Number to your Motoblur accuont... which I find is ridiculous but it is what it is.
Power off phone. Hold down power and volume down. Release power when you see words across the top and scroll down to recovery mode. Then select wipe data / factory reset. Reboot and create yourself a motoblur account. As soon as you pull your sim card though it will ask you to log in again

ya but like i said that is another problem, when trying to unlock the bootloaders, when it says to hold vol. up and power....it just boots up...it wont do none of that, and that motocast has nothing to do with this problem, i cant even go 2 settings anyway
that does not work eather...it wont do that eather
Do the volume buttons actually work?

When motoblur setup comes up, can you hit menu and add an APN to get 3G data?
Try holding up/down Vol while inserting the battery, keep holding till you get into rsd or fastboot - depending which button you press.

Hello everyone i hope someone can help me. I rooted my Kindle Fire HDX using KFHDX Tool Kit and it was successful. Afterwards i installed SUPERSU by way of the program itself and also disabled OTA. Now my problem happened after disabling OTA my silk browser will not work at all even though the WIFI is connected so i did a factory reset now when i power on my unit it keeps prompting me to choose a language even though i have already chosen one it will just keep going back to that screen. I was able to bypass it by tapping quickly on the screen and i was able to go to contacts and from there i am able to go to settings via the drop down menu. The problem is i cannot access home because when i press back it will just show home for a split second and then go back to the language menu even if i tried all the languages it wont let me use the tablet. Also i remember having paused the update before attempting to root. Now i cannot proceed to use my tablet at all. Can someone help me out with my predicament? I would really appreciate it, Thank you.

Happened to me as well, you need to get supersu installed and it'll stop doing it.

Go back to root tool. Enable ota updates. Register tablet. Disable ota. It keeps going to language because it can not contact amazon to set up. This exact thing happened to me. That's how I fixed it

Thanks. I was able to fix it by resetting to factory settings, registering and then doing everything again. Do you know of any solutions to the wifi problem where when you turn on the wifi the unit reboots?
try this

Thanks bro! I also seem to see that when my unit turns on the bluetooth icon appears beside the wifi indicator but when i go to settings > wireless and i check my bluetooth it is turned off LOL. Needed to turn it on and off for the icon to disappear. Anyways did the updates ever solved this problem? not really a biggie for me but it is nice if i can turn off my wifi.
I'm kind of stuck and could use your help. It's much appreciated. I have an unlocked C6833 I've been using as a "mini tablet" (no SIM card/no mods/in the US). I received notification yesterday that there was an up date (I'm guessing the latest) so I downloaded it. I thought everything was going fine until I checked this morning and nothing---
Computer can't access phone when connected.
I can't access anything on the phone. The pic attached is the only thing that shows when I press the power button and then it turns off and the green dot starts to flash again.
Attached is a pic of whats going on.

What it says on the first screen? I can't read it. Can't you keep pressing next?
I think the error message said initialbootsetup not responding or something to that affect. I couldn't really do anything with the phone.
It turns out that the Sony servers were overloaded or had some glitch because of the release and a lot of people trying to upgrade were stopped in their tracks.
I should've known.....never had a problem like this w/ any other phone (first Sony). Seems like they've always had some sort of problem w/ their servers and whatnot. Oh well live and learn......
It's all good now. I was able to upgrade via usb/PCC the next morning.

Hi!
Today I ran into an issue with my phone where the most bottom part of the screen on my phone is unresponsive. This means that I cannot type properly nor get into my phone since I can't hit the enter key. I booted my phone into safe mode which made it so that I could get into my phone and do a factory reset since I thought that'd help. But it didn't and now I'm stuck on the samsung setup screen because I can't press the "Next" button in the bottom right-hand corner. I went into safe mode to se if I could hit the button then but that didn't work either. I wiped the cache partition and did another factory reset but the screen still won't work properly. I've tried google-ing for answers but I couldn't find anything that I haven't already tried. Any form of help will be greatly appreciated!
Edit: I just want to clarify that the screen is not broken since it works with other buttons that are on the same position. An example is that I can click on the "accessibility" button which lies on a similar position as the following "next" button but I cannot click on the "next" button, which leads me to believe that there's something wrong with the software and not the hardware.
