Hi friends,
I want to buy a 32gb micro sd card but didn't decide to its class. As you know most of our sd cards have class 4 speed but i wonder if class 10 boosts my desire z. I think i will move all my apps to sd. Would you buy class 10 and pay more or class 4 and pay less?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Class 10 is pretty much overkill. I would go with class 4 or 6. The speed of the SD card is regulated which can be fixed by an app in the market called SD Card Speed Booster. My gallery used to take forever to load...if it loaded at all. Now it loads instantly.
keep in mind that class affects only write speed, not read speed

So it is better to buy class 4 one except of class 10...

class 10 is too much
I think 6 is enough for.
Even the difference between 4 and 6 class is pretty minimal in my own personal experience (a2sd & data++).

From what I know our 2gb SD card is class 6.
It may not be class 6 but it certainly isn't class 2 because the transfer speed is pretty good and problems would have appeared.
the card which comes with the phone is class 2
class 4 will be faster, class 6 will be even faster. (write and read)
The default card made in taiwan is class 4 or may be 6 the speed are higher around 5 mbps. But some cards are faulty. The class represents the mbps speed of the card like class 2 is 2 mbps class 4 is 4 mbps class 6 6 Mbps. Theres app called sdtools in market check it out. ( test sdcard and see what write speed it shows )

I got 8.6mbps write speed with SD Tools benchmark... Does this sound like a calss 2 card to you? I've had class 2 cards before and I'm pretty familiar with the slow speeds of those; this one doesn't compare.
If there is no number on the card within a circle then generally it is a class 2 card.

based on what I've read for the past couple of months many users have class 2 which had resulted in various problems. my speeds are around 2-3. and there's no number on the card. class 2. I'm getting an 8gb class 6 soon.
They provide different class of card to everyone. Some r lucky some not.

ok, thanks, so i will keep my default memory card.
for stats.
Writing speed: 6.5 MB/s
Reading speed: 17.8 MB/s
no class number on card.
Just how accurate is SD tools? I tried it on a 8gb transcend class 6 card and am getting
write - 11.7 mb
read 21.4
That seems pretty high right?
Well the class shows the minimum speed. So if you get high speed good for you.

Well, mine was class 0 a.k.a. no card included. Well, I do not complain since I got this brand new phone from Portugal for like $200 with a 2yrs warranty.
Then I bought a cheapo A-Data 8 GiB SD card and turns out I got this - quite happy if you ask me.
Just don't be happy about speed it's good but there's also latency (the root cause of reboots some users have).

Does any one know if Class 4 sd card work on vibrant. Im about to buy an 8gb class 4 sd card and wondering if anyone has or currently using a class 4 sd card on their vibrant?
Thanks.
Been using a 16Gb Class 4 Kingston MicroSD since I bought the phone, works perfectly. I dont see any reason you could not use a MicroSD up to class 10, even though it would be a waste of money. Class 6 is probably as high as you would want to go for performance/money sake.
thanks. just ordered a kingston 8gb class 4 micro sdhc for 12$
Fyi, the card that came with the vibrant is class 4

My class 10 Patriot 32GB loads about as fast as my class 6 16GB lexar if that means anything. Both open up quickly for music apps or gallery. Its just the initial reading after any boot that takes about a min or 2. Hope that helps reassure!
So what class of micro is needed to be able to record and play hd video without lag? People are looking for class 10 but I think that may be a bit overkill for me and I suspect that class 6 should be enough, correct?
The class 4 32GB sandisk cards are good, or the class 6, 16GB sandisk card. Both should be fast enough

I have a 8 gb class 4 sd card in my evo 3d and i play alot of games that require downloaded media. I am ugrading to a 16 gb, would a class 2 be good or should i try for a class 4 or 6?
I plan to try out boot manager(the multiple rom thing as well)
The higher the class, the faster it reads your memory.

Look at this, 32gb class 4 $34.99. Also, what he said ^^
the phone runs around a class 6, so get an sdcard at least that high, I have a 32gb class 10 and couldn't be happier.

What he said. I just ordered a class 10 32gb Samsung for around 70 bucks with a good warranty. I have a 16gb class 6 now and its a definitely a noticeable difference from the stock class 4. It'll be definitely worth it to get the higher class sd.
Locked & Loaded

I have a 32gb class 10 myself, I will never use anything else. The class 10 is awesome.

I got one of those SanDisk Mobile ultra(gray and red) cards and it tops a class 10. It's great for 3d video.

Hi all
Which class of MicroSD you are using for better performance for Song/Apps/Video for your HTC Desire X?
I hope Sandisk Class 10, 8GB should be enough.
What do you say?
I finally placed a order of Sandisk 16GB, Class 10 card.
I'm using a class 4 sd card. Never had any problem with it

Does anyone know the maximum class which is officially supported?
I'm using class 10, everything work smooth enough to be happy about it.
Thanks Klapo.
But if the maximum supported Class is (for instance) Class 2, I could save some money buying a Class 2 SD instead of a Class 10.

I've got no problems with a class 10 SD card as well. Mine is also supporting UHS-I standard, so it's even faster. I recommend buying the fastest SD card that's working with the device to avoid lags in apps / games you moved to the SD card.
