[Q] Good Custom ROM for my Sony Xperia S?

I have been using KA ROM for a while. I am currently running KA ROM 12. I have always been a fan of his work but now I feel the need for change because KA ROM 13-16 have major battery issues. I find KA ROM 12 the most stable and battery preserving.
This is some things I look for. One is that the UI icons would be Sony default. I just like how Sony icons looks compared to Samsung Galaxy Nexus etc.
A ROM that is stable. No random stuttering. Decent battery life or even battery saving, this is because I know the Sony Xperia S is a powerful device but it would be even better if the battery performance matched up. Another is the battery percentage. I do not like Sony's battery icon but I do like the circular battery icons.
One of the ROM's I was considering: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827128
Why? Because I hear good things about it and because of the battery tweaks. It really has caught my attention. But on this ROM, is uses the Samsung Galaxy Nexus icons which I am not a big fan off. I know there isn't a lot of SXS developers atm but what I am asking from experience from other users, what "Sony Stock-Like ROM" is good. Battery life / performance, etc.
Ever tried stock rom? About battery percentage you can easily flash with cwm from theme.

Honestly, I have tried stock ROM's and I do love them. But there is only one issue I have with them and that's bloatware. Because I am just a user and not a developer, I wouldn't be sure which things I should un-install in Titanium Backup, etc.
You could try Dualcore 5.2. For me, the ROM is super smooth with no bloatware, battery often lasts about 23 hours with 3g always on. Flash it with nullvoid tweak and you are done
You could actually try some out for yourself.
I know it sounds like a crazy idea but the truth is, if you can't help yourself others won't help you.

Rom or Kernel: The Ultimate Battery

I know alot of people ask which is the best combi, but i dont care about that.
im wondering which one really affects the battery more, the rom or the kernel?
im looking for more battery life and i constantly try many roms and kernels to find the best, but its all very erratic so im wondering which one i should change and look for increase in battery life more
tks
It's a combination of both. The core power management drivers lie in the kernel, along with CPU frequencies, governors, and other battery life affecting things. But the ROM is what ultimately makes use of the kernel. If the ROM has certain battery draining features, then it will affect battery life negatively and vice versa. So it's really a combination of both.

Rom with a great battery life???

What ROM you guys can say has the best battery life?? Ive used some of them and the only thing i can say is that the older builds with 2.2 have the best battery life, but i want to have a newer build on my phone cause of the new features and stuff, but if you guys can tell me which one of the new builds have the best battery life???
Things like battery life and performance are highly device dependant. Although many users may report great battery life on a particular rom, you may not experience the same effects. Hardware is not created equally, and as such, nobody can give you better advice on what's best for your device than yourself. I'd suggest find some roms that are reported to have decent battery life and test them for yourself. Same thing with kernels. You might experience awesome results with a particular rom/kernel combo that someone else might not. Test test test. Get to know your device.

There is no 'best' ROM nor kernel, each and every user has their own setup. So User A might be using ROM A and have great battery life and the phone is super fast, whilse User B may experience poor battery life and a slow, bogged down phone.
The only way to find the best ROM for your setup is to experiment with different ROMs and see what you feel works the best for your setup.
