I got this out my phone a few weeks ago when I checked to see if I had an ICS update
Of course I didn't.
Well now this message "connecting to DM server" stays in my notification bar. It also stays running. I did a check to see how much they battery life it was eating and it was well over 60%.
I tried the settings, manage apps, att update, clear cache but it still ran.
I finally used app quarantine to stop it.
Well now that we may get ICS soon I want the update option to run with out it running at all times.
Anyone else having this issue?

Connecting to DM Server
I had the problem today. Went to manage Running Apps and was able to stop.
If this does not work, did you try rebooting the phone?
I have tried resting the phone.
I even shut the phone off and took the battery out for 5 min.
It won't go away unless I put it in app quarantine.

I'm also having this same problem and have done everything that you've done to try and fix the problem, but it's still happening. Have found a fix by chance? This has been going on for about a week or two.

Load titanium backup and freeze it, or you could delete it too.
I just deleted it.....g
Mine just started showing this in the notification tray yesterday. I can freeze it and the notification goes away, but I don't think we want to delete it though, right? Isn't this how the phone connects to the AT&T server to get software updates? I figure I'll freeze it for a few days then defrost it and see if it fixes itself or connects to the server.
Here is the Samsung s voice off the galaxy s3 try it and see if it works I can't seem to get it to work on cm9
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26300180#post26300180
Edit: I got it to work using root explorer push it to system/apps and click on it and install it like a normal app.
IT ONLY WORKS ON ICS
Enjoy
Why only S Voice, why not the whole TouchWiz Nature UX with lock screen and all on the Player?
But it's still amazing!
It went well a couple of times when it force closes and "can't connect to server", now I can't use this anymore!

Yes it does not work that well since it is meant for the s3 but you could try rebooting and maybe it might start back to work
How did you manage to get it working in the first place? I always get the 'Can't connect to server' error

If its saying can't connect to server maybe its your internet connection. If it does not work again try reinstalling the app. I think you have to be running some sort of ics build or it won't work.

I've tried reinstalling it many times in system/app or data/app and I've tried changing the permissions
I'm currently running the AOKP tablet mode ROM.
I'm fairly sure its not my internet connection as I can browse the web using any of the browsers from Google Play. However, in some apps my wifi connection can't be detected even though I have full signal. That might be the issue but I don't know how to fix it

Oh your running tablet mode then that's probably why, some apps don't work that well in tablet mode.
Got it working
I managed to get it working
First I uninstalled the app and I downloaded it again just to make sure. I also changed the UI to phone mode by changing the DPI.
I then copied the app to my internal sd card and I installed it as a normal app without changing permissions or anything
I also went into the S Voice settings and unticked 'Use Location Data' and then everything worked, even in tablet mode.
I'm not sure whether the location services or the tablet mode was messing it up though, but on the upside it works now!
No one can get touchwiz ux yet

Hi, I have a problem with the stock browser on my Galaxy S3 not starting properly after the device has been in standby mode.
I can start the browser if it is not running, and everything works ok. If I press the home button, then leave the phone with the browser running in the background it will not load any pages afterwards. When I try to start the browser it just hangs with a white screen and the progressbar stuck at a few percent. Then the browser will disappear. I try again and the same happens. The third time it works perfectly again. (It never hangs more than 2 times)
Does anyone know what causes this problem? I haven't been able to find any reports of this problem from anyone else.
Thanks

Wipe the data of the internet app in settings, apps, all. If that doesn`thelp do a data/factory reset , if that didn`t help reflash the rom.

Tried rebooting? If that doesn't clear it, then I'm afraid you might be facing the dreaded wifi&bt fryout, especially if your bt is acting up too.

Reboot fixed it. :good: I wish there's a way I could delete this post.
This killed me.
This issue caused my phone to randomly reboot and freeze up which it hasn't done for months so im switching to "Somebody's" CM10 you can record video and take a pic at the same time!
This is driving me crazy. For some reason talk back turns on after about 3 days of and jb based rom and even when I un installed it it still selects everything like it's reading it in my browser and Facebook and doesn't let me scroll until it's finished talking.. I've gone through every setting and everything tts is either un installed or off and it won't stop... This happens with every jb rom I've used.. I don't turn it on and when it asks when I'm setting up the phone on first flash I say no.. Then after a few days it turns on and won't stop.. And another problem I have with every ics and jb rom is I get a voice mail notification that won't ever go away. I checked and cleared all my messages and it still won't go away.. These are more of a nuisance but if I can get them to go away it will be awesome and I will be extremely happy haha thanks to anyone who tries to help and a special thanks if anyone know why these things are happening and shows me a fix
