Hi i already did the search for movies players and maybe i didnt use the right terminology when looking..what i am looking for is a player that you can adjust the brightness off the picture from within it's own setting's thanks
I use mobo player. It plays almost every file type on top having its own volume and brightness settings inside the app.

My friend with a capitivate showed me his music player and from what I can tell there were at lrastea few minor differences. The one I want is the when he turned it sideways it automatically went into disc mode. I would like to use this similarly to coverflow the one feature I miss from my ipod touch. Is this possible?

Ok ok so i didnt get it much but you want his music player on your phone ?? If yes, get the rom he has and extrat it and go to the system folder, then apps and search for the music player....make it flasgeable and flash via cwm recovery...if didnt work just uninstall the one you have by using.systemapp remover...and try again
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
if you have the touchwiz music player already, all you have to do is hit menu and theres an option that says "go to disc view." I just tried it now. When you hit the back button though it'll go back to the normal "list" view. You would have to keep hitting the disc view option in the menu.
Edit: Now that I remember, i think the tw music player from 2.1 did that. My phone's player used to do that before and now it doesn't. odd.
The music player from from the.epic 4g works good...you can get it.from the kitchen which is around here...search for it and there are options of phones..default is vibrant but choose epic 4g and select music player ..flash it threw cwm

Is there a way to link the ringtone and notification volumes? Or is there an easier way to adjust notification without hunting through settings each time? With cm7 these two were linked in fact I think it its line that in an aosp ROM.

Not to thread jack, but in a related issue...
When I play pandora and output to a set of external speakers via the headphone jack, I must turn the media volume level all the way up for the speakers to play at a reasonable level...
After awhile, the volume just decreases... I try pressing the volume UP key but there is a message that says something to the effect of "playing at high volume for extended time can damage hearing." Is there a way to disable the message and volume attenuation that occurs from playing media files at highest volume for extended time... I searched through the settings and googled this but nothing comes up...

Looking for a solution to this too... I wasn't sure if this was an option stock or not, I guess not. I'm running unnamed and was going to suggest it to gtg, once I get enough posts to post in that forum
You can long press on your home screen and add shortcut, settings, then sounds.
It's not exactly a no effort way, but it will make adjusting the volume quicker.

Haven't run into that problem myself. But there are a few apps on the market that can boost audio volume to your headphone Jack.

Download the app called "quick settings" it allows you to link them in its volume control section of the app. That's how I link them.

Thanks, I might check that out, although I'd prefer not to have an app to do this.
So the stock Samsung music player is nice, but the EQ is horrible. Every time I try a third party EQ it does not work at all? Any solutions to this?
You could try dsp manager. It seems to help a little for me.

Definitely try dsp manager. It is great. Link to the apk in the thread below.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459146
It still will not work with my stock music player :/
Try out poweramp then. The widgets are really nice for it, and it offers alot more functionality than the stock player.
"Equalizer" app is the best it integrates very nicely with google music to it should work with everything else too

I've tried poweramp, i have player pro. But I want the stock lock controls, as well as the notification controls I get with the samsung player. Ive tried equalizer but it doesnt seem to work either. It works with google music but not the samsung player. Does it work with yours?
I don't know I just use google music I like the interface better but yeah I miss the lock screen controls and notification controls. I use widget locker to have lock screen controls

^+1 - works perfectly for me (with a little tweaking).
Is there anything ported or similar?
Try Stick it! from play store
EDIT: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myboyfriendisageek.stickit&hl=en
Or, you might wanna try Super Video, which is for free:

It supports most of them. I find the odd one that is copyright and can't play through it but it works awesome, especially on my tab.

Yup, the Super Video player is fabulous. Works without any glitch for me! And I don't know if you guys know this or not, but you can control the brightness by sliding your finger up and down on the left side of the window and adjust the volume by doing the same on the right side. Quite nifty, I'd say.

** Off topic **
Same controls work for Dice Player except volume is on the left and brightness on the right. Very handy.
Also from left to right is scroll forward and right to left is scroll back.

Besides those physical weaknesses such unremovable battery or no external memory slot, ... so far, I found 2 bad things about this phone, still searching for the 3rd.
1) Volume buttons are on the back. At first I thought it's not a big deal and thought I can deal with it until using this G2 as navigation device with car holder. Normally, with buttons on the side, I can increase/decrease voice control volume with ease, but not this buttons on the back.
2) Widgets are not resizable.
3) Still searching.
If someone know how to fix 1) and 2), please let me know
Update 1:
3) Camera is super-suck in low-light condition, regardless inside or outside. With flash on, even worse.
4) Battery drain unexpectedly and uncontrollably (this could be my fault though)
5) Sometimes I can bypass the lockscreen without having drawing the pattern. This is bad.

Music app on stock LG serves me well.
Do PowerAMP and PlayerPRO be able to play by FOLDER?
There is no reason to install any other apps if the built-in can work well.

Album =/= folder, bro
I have to give it a try again, but last time I tried it as well as many other apps, playing by album isn't playing by folder.
Note: .mp3 and .wma are selected, ripped and stored in folders.

Not all of them... Some such as Google Drive, Facebook, Twitter will not expand beyond 4x2. Google+ will expand 5x2, as will Keep and Tunein radio. So it really depends if the widget producer provides support for the widgets to be resized or not, or provides a widget for your default screen size.
Not all widgets are resizeable, most stock widgets are though.
Also PowerAMP can play by FOLDER. Click on PowerAMP, bottom bar says FOLDER.

I do. I love the stock player!
I am a long time Samsung Galaxy series user. I bought this phone on Friday and I've been playing around with it and there are a couple things that kind of irritate me about it...
1. The screen quality is nowhere near as good as people say it is....or I might just be spoiled by super amoled hd screens. IDK...
2. Camera is horrible
3. LG's UI is very lackluster. IMO
