So I am having some issues with my atrix. I am trying to watch movies off my hdmi and video and audio are both working. The only problem is that the sound is not in sync with the video. Do i need to convert the videos files in order to correct this issue or am i doing something wrong. Sorry if this question has already been posted but i couldn't find any info on it.
its not the phone. The problem is from the way you are converting it. Try a different program and see if that helps.

Have you played them on a PC to see what they look like?
What software are you using to create the videos?
What source are you using? (avi, wma, etc.)
Where is the source material coming from?
If they are out of sync on another device/computer, then it rules out the phone.
yeah I have, the play fine on my windows media player. I downloaded them via torrent and they play fine on my laptop. They are .AVI files and I already trouble shooted them all on my phone. They all seem to do the same thing. windows media player plays them just fine. My atrix plays them too but the sound doesnt go in sync with the actors voices.
I really dont think its the phone, I just think its the software in the phone that is causing it. I have tried other players on android market and they do the same thing.
I did not convert the files to mp4 or mkv files. Im thinking that this is the issue. Its just a drag to convert them since it takes so long to do the conversion.
Hello all!
I'm facing a really weird issue here. I spent the last hour googling for it but no one really had a solution for it... here's the problem:
I record a video with my phone (running stock rom by the way). I can watch the video on the phone, it plays smoothly and everything.
So now I want to watch the video on the computer but it just doesn't work. Whenever I open the videos (WMP, VLC, etc) the video just freezes and I only hear the sound. It doesn't matter if I open up the video from the SD card, Internal Memory or if I copy it locally to my computer harddisc.
I tried playing around with the resolution settings on the phone (1920x1080, etc) but even on the lowest setting the video keeps freezing when I want to watch it on my computer.
Believe me, it's not the computer it has more than enough ressources and power to be able to play a Full HD video.
Does anyone have a solution or a workaround for this problem? It would be highly appreciated...
Greetings from Switzerland.

Your PC needs the correct codecs to output the video files. Google for codecs.

Dude VLC Player is totally able to play MP4 files... it played ANY video file so far. Like I said, I really don't think it's a computer issue, I can play MP4 files on that machine... just not the ones from the phone...
Search XDA SGS2 somebody asked the exact same question . From memory the answer was the format used to record .

music takes up too much space on my phone..
what aac converter do you suggest for music transfers to phones?
it must preserve the tags in mp3s. the artworks etc
edit:read the next post
How about you instead share what you found so that the next person looking for it can find it here?
of course

definitely, i found a gui for nero aac called lamexp.
nero aac needs to be downloaded separately, it's very easy to use,
supports multi thread and multi processor so that makes it very fast too..
here:

I FOUND SOMETHING BETTER
foobar 2000

player cum transcoder
very helpful since whole artists can be encoded together
Is there any DVD player for android platform ? All players I've tried can only play single VOB files.
'Not sure what you're trying to accomplish. Why not just rip your DVD to an AVI, MOV, etc. and be done with it? It'll end up taking less space.
Are you trying to preserve the menu browsing features inherrent to the DVD?
It will take less space indeed. The thing is that I use the prime only, it's just a matter of convenience to download a video and watch it straight away.
About menu browsing - not really. All I want is a software that can 1) play right VOBs in right order 2) choose subtitles 3) choose soundtrack
If you already download yor movies and dont use a dvd disc player why do you download dvds???
I suggest you start to download mkv movies instead. You get multiple audio track and subtitles with moving to and you get better quality and the file can be played directly on Prime
Asus Prime & Tapatalk
From the title I thought he meant an external dvd player lol...but is there such thing? maybe even an external bluray player?
sorry kinda going off topic..

After trying 10+ different players I ended up doing exactly this: downloading a mkv file
It's just that the only non-dvd versions were small ~700 mb-ish files.
It's time to forget DVDs and move on with the progress
I've played region-free, non-css DVDs using MX Player... but haven't tried others yet...

Certainly. If you can't find a USB DVD player, you can use a SATA to USB adapter.

Hi, thanks in advance for the help.
I recently copied a lot of music from my computer to my phone, and I use Poweramp to play it. Everything is fine except for an annoying problem which I will try to describe as best as I can:
Each song has a length obviously, however, when in Poweramp, this length is increased for every song, producing a sort of very long gap at the end of every song. For example, if my song is 3:20 of music, Poweramp will add 15 more secs of useless space at the end of it, making it 3:35. Should I click the progress bar right at the end of the song, it will do nothing but immediately change to the next track (for example, if I want to play the last 5 seconds, nothing will play but it will only play the next track).
Summary: Poweramp adds useless, not even playable space at the end of every track.
I have tried doing a full rescan, a rescan, changing track names, clearing data, clearing cache.. nothing.
Can you please help me?

Only in Poweramp, it's sad because Poweramp is such a fine app besides this silly problem

I've had this problem before and I still have it now. It seems like poweramp doesn't like manually encoded mp3's. So did you encode some? Like used a youtube to mp3 converter etc? If you did then the problem will arise. If you are patient enough you can encode the mp3 files again using audacity and export them as a 320kbps ones or you could just buy the original music through itunes or somewhere that legally sells downloadable mp3's

damn, I actually bought the cds, then ripped to lossless and then converted using Audials prior to adding them to iTunes and then gave the cds away!
It makes me no more happy to know that you still have the problem. :/
What you recommend would take a long time indeed. I am certainly never using Audials again.

I don't know about Audials but yeah somehow Poweramp doesn't really like programs converting the mp3 files. And about Audacity I just accidentally found out about it and it works wonders after it exports the mp3 files and weirdly poweramp doesn't add those additional 15secs of playtime.

BUT you tend to lose even more quality when converting from lossy to lossy AFAIK... It would work as a temporary solution though. Thanks for the tip!
I had contacted their customer service and they knew NOTHING, they even asked me to send them a sample song just to tell me to do the Full Rescan. I would ask for a refund, but the app is so good at everything else!
Did you contact them?

i'm no music expert but yeah it would lose quality but the difference is unnoticeable imo. The app is really quite good and really stands out of all the music apps on the playstore. And nope i haven't contacted them about this issue as I've downloaded most of my music on itunes so no additional encodes were required.
If you don't add any more compression and change encoding - you wont lose quality. Its not the process that loses quality, its your settings

Oh ok I thought it was the process. Thank you! I will be transcoding all my music then still it's an ugly bug this one (I will be insisting on it to their customers support) , but you've both helped me, thanks again

Good luck as well, it's got to be the best music player for me. Player pro does sound a tad better with the dsp packs but man, power amp looks great and works very well.

There was an update yesterday, I will try it with the problematic music and see if the problem has been solved.

Nope the update didn't fix it.
I was checking and analyzing everything today and it does have to do with the encoding. I had mp3s that were shown on iTunes as 'MPEG Audio' and some others as 'MPEG Audio File'. The first ones had the problem when added to Poweramp, the other ones didn't.

And to me it seems like MaxMP (creator of the app) is ignoring the problem. Oh well... the app is superb however when it comes to problems like this the support is quite disappointing.
