I need a tablet for my 9 years old boy, and I am a newbie.....
I thought about either Asus Transformer or Galaxy 10'
- fast browser with flash, youtube, facebook
- skype with video
- avi, mp4 etc playback ( I dont want to convert files, I want to play them stright
after downloading)
- easy data transfer from my PC
- GPS navigation (copilot, igo etc) without using data
- some games working like : moshi monsters and android stuff (I ve got Galaxy 2)
Do I need a custom ROM for all above options?
Please share your thoughts, I ve got 2 weeks to make the decision.

I'm just curious because I have a 5 year old, do his 9 year old friends also have a laptop or tablet?

My thoughts? especially if you are into video thingy (and you don't want to convert it), forget honeycomb tablets. Just buy Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 or HTC Flyer instead.. they run every and everything smooth and stable !
Is the tab just for him? Not trying to be rude, but I can't understand why a 9 year old needs a tab. Wants yes (mine does) but not need.
My oldest is 10 and he has a mid-range laptop. He gets some use for school, but mostly he uses it for playing games. I can control to an extent what he sees and does while surfing, and at the least keep close tabs on what he does online. I wouldn't think that's possible with a tab.

No. No 10" tablet has the right price/durability ratio for a 9-year-old kid.
Too expensive and too easy to break. Cheap netbook is the solution for kids - more durable, far cheaper.

- easy data transfer from my PC Depends. Who's doing the transfer, you or him? It's easy to use File Manager HD and connect to a LAN share and then Copy/Paste to the Tab. That's how I get the mp4 files to the Tab. Easy for you, might be tougher for him.
- GPS navigation (copilot, igo etc) without using data YES. It's a very, very nice GPS device.
- some games working like : moshi monsters and android stuff (I ve got Galaxy 2) YES
Do I need a custom ROM for all above options? NO, mine is stock, unrooted.
Please share your thoughts, I ve got 2 weeks to make the decision. TAB is the top of the food chain and most expensive. If budget isn't an issue then go for it.

One caveat: Unlike the iPad no password entry is required when making a purchase in the market. DO NOT have a credit card number in his Google account. That way he can't purchase apps or make in-app purchases without typing in a credit card number.

+1. Make sure you get a warranty with accidental damage. I'm sure your kid is great, but it takes only one drop to ruin these things.
Have you ever used a tablet? It's not the same as a PC. Many things still don't work. One of your requirements is that video work without transcoding. You're not going to get that from a tablet (I use three seperate video programs because some work for some files, and some files just need to be transcoded. It's hit or miss). I don't believe there is a data-free gps solution just yet (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The "fast" browser is still buggy, and pressing buttons or drop down menus can still be a problem. Finally, for a 9-year-old kid there isn't much in the way of parental controls for android yet. If he can use google, he's going to find all kinds of interesting content...
My advice would be the same: get him a cheap netbook. If you really want him to have a tablet, get one of the smaller lighter ones (7") or at least one of the burlier ones (like the iconia or the xoom) so it can take a short drop. There are a lot of smaller lighter choices from china; build quality sucks but they cost less than half this much and have much of the same functionality. The GT10 is very thin (which is why I like it), but it is also far more likely to be damaged by a short fall or a wrong step. At least go to the store and have the kid play around with one for a few minutes, see if he can find his way around it without help (or you will become tech support...).

Find out what your kid wants the tablet for games etc or just surfing the net my son is 14 bought him a iPad for xmass never plays it he just wanted it for hell of it

GPS/Navigation without data
Is that really possible? I tried to open up maps/google nav without being connected to wifi and got a pop up stating I needed a data connection to use the app. Since then I have pre-cached certain areas on maps but as far as turn by turn directions doesn't that need data?
Let me put it this way, my son is 4 years old. I let him play with my iPad and my SGT 7", and he does just fine with them, he's gentle, and treats them with care. He can navigate through them like nobody's business. He'd probably be fine using my SGT 10.1, but I won't let him mess with it simply because it's not as rigid (tough) as the other two, and accidents can happen. If you do end up getting your son an SGT 10.1, I suggest getting a rugged case for it like an Otterbox. (though that defeats the form-factor if you're getting it for thinness)

If there is one thing that i will say for the apple ipad2 it is that they are for kids and old people. If its for your 9 year old son, i would deffinately get him an ipad. But if you need things like flash then i would go for a netbook. There are many good options, small form factor, things like that.

Galaxy TAB.. NO NO NOT for a 9 year old unless you have an otterbox defender case which will never be realease. Otterbox had a press statement that said they will not be producing any otterbox accessores for the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1. (a bummer I know)
Now my 4 Year old daughter has an ipad 1 encased in the otterbox defender series case. I have all types of books and learning apps on there for her and she loves it. Even have her movies on it (64GB Ipad 1 3G & Wi-fi) sure we don't use the 3G but I only paid $300 for it on ebay. I must also state that while I think children should get used to these things early my daughter is not your average 4 year old. She actually reads on a 2nd grade level. I think the IPAD 1 should be considered you can get one cheap on Ebay or CraigsList. I don't like apple's locked down devices however I couldn't find nearly as many Educational apps (formatted for tablets).. just my 2 cents. I am by no means an apple fanboy. I have the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I have the Nook Color.. My wife uses the Xoom.

My daughter wants a pad/tablet for her six year old birthday...(yes i spoil my daughter so sue me). I've been a big fan of android since the g1 days. I don't like ios purely because of the limitations apple has put on it. my daughter is always asking to play with our phones. (we have all android phones) that's why i'm looking to get her a tablet/pad. i've ruled out the transformer and the thrive as they are too heavy for her to carry/hold for long periods of time. my choice is between the gtab or the ipad as they are both simlarly priced and designed. as much as i hate apple, i'm thinking that it might be better to get for her because of it's simple to use software. remember this device will mainly be used by a six year old so i need convincing why i should get the gtab over the ipad2. so my question is what do you think is better for someone her age?

I had an I pad 1 and my three year old son mastered it in probably two sittings. I personally love android phones and I now have a galaxy tab 10.1. But in my opinion for a kid the I pad isthe best choice.
iPad. Give her something that isn't a shame to destroy.

i was considering that...but she wants a camera also. so that disqualifies the nook. she's pretty good at using our phones but honeycomb is slightly different. i'm leaning towards the gtab 10.1 just because of the better camera and many of the apps are free. also whatever games i buy or have already bought will be on her tab also because i'm going to be using my gmail account to setup her tab. thanks for the input guys...appreciate it.

I got my 5 year old a nook as a reward/incentive for learning his times tables.
With CM7 installed and overclocked to 1200 MHz, the main things he does on it are:
play android games
Watch Ripped Movies, TV shows
Play any NES, SNES, PSX, GBA games with a bluetooth wiimote controller
Read books
If I let him, he could also surf the net, watch netflix etc.
IMO the nook is a fantastic kids device.
The only drawbacks to the nook are, lack of cameras, lack of GPS, limit of 2 point multitouch (makes playing games in emulators suck without the wiimote).
It has by far the best looking capacitive display for the price.

lol what does that say of the general populace?
I was browsing some kids/educational apps on the Android Market and I think the iPad has much more to choose from and I have seen some pretty cool ones for the iPad. I am not sure if Andoid has the same ones or not, I don't remember the names.
One was of some stuffed animal that you can abuse by knocking off his hat as well as other things. Also some good story book apps, I think Andoid has some of those.
Ease of use of the iPad is great for a kid. Unlike many here I do like the iPad, I think it is pretty good and very easy to use, just not open like Android.
My 6 year old son has been playing with our Android phones for a while, so he was familar with most of the apps, but he picked up how to use Honeycomb in probably, oh 5 minutes. He seemed to get it faster than I did.
One advantage for me is that I can install the apps I've already purchased on it. The rule we have is he can't install apps himself. He understands this, and stays away from the market and clicking ads/ingame links well.
I looked at the iPad 2 as well, but couldn't find any apps which were compelling to mes that weren't available on Android or which soon would be.

just got SGT 3G 10.1 to write a review. Since my everyday device is iPad (1) and a while back I have decided I will wait Tegra 2 devices out I got few simple questions I need help with (because of the different system):
- how do I put Netflix app on this thing?
- how do I hack Hulu (I do not have Hulu Plus)?
- I got Dice player (trial) and it works nicely with my NAS storage but it is a trial :-( I do not want to spend cash on software since I do not have any Android device currently - so.. is there any decent free alternative to Dice Player (btw: Mobo is having problems with playback)
- is there any nice (free) RSS reader (like Mobile RSS for iPad)
- any other way to watch NBC or ABC (there are apps for iPad) than through browser?
- do you guys use stock browser or is there any better free alternative (heard rumours that proper Chrome is coming - lucky you!!)
Do your SGT's get warm at the back (area below on/off switch)?

So what your saying is that your not really planning on doing a review on the Tab 10.1??? The title of your post confuses me a bit then.
And since you have both the iPad and a Tab wouldn't it be easy to see if you made the right choice for yourself. You have both devices right in front of you to compare. "The right choice" is really dependant on how you plan to use and what your looking for from your device. Everyone expects and demands a little something different from the devices they choose. Case in point, my wife wanted a tablet that she could play games on, check her email and shop online with. I wanted a tablet that I could tweek to were I could use it for not only personal things like media, browsing and gaming but also easily setup to use for work as well. She opted for the iPad 2 for its ease of setup and use, I opted for the Tab 10.1 for its ability to customize it to my exact needs.
The right choice is for you and only you to make in the end... Your the one who has to use it everyday.

Try MX Palyer.
What software version does your tab have? I ask because older versions are really laggy. Install KI1 and you will get a really smooth device, you can find it in development forum.
RSS reader, try Pulse.
I'm using the stock browser. Make sure you enable plug ins in settings, otherwise flash won't work.
You can find the Netflix apk in apps forum.
I found a link to Netflix app on transformer forum. Downloaded, installed - does not work :-(.
After logging in I got error message about stream (will let you know the no later on as I do not have the device with me).

BTW: how to get apps that have regional restricition, with iTunes it is easy, one just needs to setup new account. Same with Android Market?
Software on this tab shows HC 3.1 and it is laggy as hell. When going out from settings to home screen it takes a bit to draw all the widgets and first few swipes between desktops are far from smooth
Al the time I find its screen a bit less responsive than at iPad - has any one else similar feeling/response?
And let me ask again - back of the device I got gets quite warm, enough to get sweaty fingers which makes holding the device not very pleasant.
I think manufacturers should make teir tablets as light as possible but a bit thicker (not like Xoom or Thrive) but a bit chunkier than iPad2 or SGT 10.1.
But my overall experience so far is good - funny thing about screens. As there is difference between iPad and SGT in resolution (and fonts and screen size) I find it easier to surf the net with ipad (I use iPad 99% of the time in horizontal position with "Home" button on the side), like everything on the screen a wee bit bigger and easier to read. On the other hand when it comes to pictures and movies SGT looks better.

Umm Netflix is on the market. Most of these questions are android related and not specific to the tab. I encourage you to try out apps and read the forums like the rest of us if you want a true review. The beauty of android is its ability to be customized. Take some time to make the device truly yours then review it.
I appreciate your comment, that is exactly what I am trying to do. Unfortunately I can not find the information I am looking for. I have tried "search" and entered there both "key words" Netflix and Hulu - so far no luck.
If Netflix app is in the market it is ot available to me as I'm am not in the USA. I have to admit that it is much easier with iOS. Especially for someone fresh.
I have had both and got rid of the ipad2. My main reason, though, was I needed openvpn and couldn't wait for a jailbreak for the ipad2 to come out since mine was new enough to already have 4.2.5 on it, no SHSH blobs.
That said I ditched my iPhone for a captivate, so I should have known already
It is quite expensive to buy tab so if I decide to buy it I would like to get the best there is for my money.
So please share your experience, are you happy about it? Are there any major problems or bugs which you experienced? Is stock ROM good? Is it worth rooting? Basically whatever you think it's worth mentioning before I buy it.
and also is it possible to plug USB keyboard?

I have had it for a week now and yes, I would say it was worth it. My only disappointment was that it does not have 2G / 3G voice capabilities. So I still have to carry a regular cell phone. But I have used the data side with Skype and it works great. I am hoping someone on XDA will hack the dialler functionality soon!
Value is a personal thing, very subjective.
The fact that you're asking about plugging in a keyboard indicates the desire to use the tablet for more than content consumption (videos, music, simple web browsing, reading). Not sure if this would be your first tablet but if you're looking to do any type of serious work on one tread carefully.
I got my Verizon LTE version fully understanding that I'd use it purely as a content consumption device. As such I'm VERY satisfied with it. I have no expectations to do any work related stuff on it other than read and respond to emails as the kind of work I do can't be done on a tablet anyhow.
Things I like to do with it include web browsing, watching downloaded TV shows (EZTV.it downloads), watching my bluray rips (be warned, tegra 2 chipset has specific limitations on codec/encoding settings so don't expect all types of 1080p encodes to work) reading news, browsing youtube and listening to streaming music.
My tablet came with Honeycomb 3.1 and that was LAGGY out of the box. Changing to ADW Launcher EX helped a lot but going to the leaked 3.2 ROM and putting on a different kernel is what helped the most so to answer your question - hated stock, rooted . . love being on non-stock rom and kernels.

Reason why I'm asking is that my laptop died yesterday and I need mobility of a laptop around the house but I don't like them, they are often poorly build, battery is not doing well and it is expensive to change and many more reasons. So I think it's time to end that nonsense and buy desktop PC for all kind of work and tablet for entertainment, Web surfing, Ebay communication. However I do like to write long emails and I'm not a fun of touchable keyboard, that is why I'm asking is it possible to plug regular one.
I never had tablet before, but I have now two Android devices and I am aware about some limitations, that is why I will by desktop PC as well. Waiting for more opinions. Thanks.

played with it 30 min at shop today, wasn't impressed, seem like a good device but it did not dropped my jaw with performance so I decided to w8 few months and I will try to get cheaper from Ebay, bought desktop PC today anyway
Biggest reason why I decided not to buy it is that stock ROM did not impressed me so I will w8 for cheaper opportunity and root it and get custom ROM

if you have patience to wait for transformer prime, don't go for this tab.
Two suggestions:
1) don't judge a tablet just by its specs and performance (it's like a car: just because it has a great engine doesn't mean it's fast, and certainly doesn't mean the seats are comfortable....). A light and easy to hold tablet is worth way more than a fast tablet with many ports and sharp edges (take my word, I tried 6 tablets before I found the GT10.1.). (Just to be clear, the GT10.1 is and will be the fastest tablet you can get until the Transformer Prime is launched).
2) don't judge a tablet by the stock ROM performance. If you know enough to find XDA, you should know that stock ROM and custom ROM are night and day... Keep this in mind for new tablets (it will be a few months before the Transformer Prime ROMs mature).

I own all three device types; four if you count my phone and my experience is this: my Tab used to be my wife's tab. Until she broke the screen, but she gave it to me because using it gave her RSI in her shoulder... the kind you need a fysiotherapist to look at and massage out. Holding it in front of you (lifting it) for extended periods time isn't recommended; you need to rest it on your lap or desk once in a while.
My experience with the tablet so far is that it's good for checking your email, your facebook/twitter/g+, browsing and the occasional game (Apparatus is really good on the Tab). However, if you're going to do more typing than 5 or 6 lines (long emails), you're better of with something that has a keyboard, like your desktop. Not only is it faster, it is way more comfortable. I wouldn't use my Tab to post this.
If you're planning on plugging a keyboard into a tablet, in other words: trying to make a tablet into a laptop, in my book you are doing it wrong and you would've been much better off buying a simple laptop. IMHO a tablet is not a laptop replacement. However, I do think it is possible using an OTG usb plug to use a keyboard with the Tab if you really want to; most likely you will need to run a custom 3.2 ROM. A mate of mine with a Transformer had loads of problems with the external keyboard on 3.1.
So what does it add to my desktop/laptop/phone I already have you may ask? Well, I'm gonna try and see if it works as an electronic notepad. My desk is littered with sheets of A5 paper filled with scribbles of meetings and ideas. I've ordered a Dagi P507 stylus (should be accurate with a capacitive screen) and I hope that it will work reasonably well in combination with handwriting recognition.
Also it just looks sexy on the coffee table.
So it's great for occasional use (look up imdb during a movie), but it's just not very good at "normal" productivity. IMHO it's a nice-to-have: I would not buy one if I didn't already have a laptop and a desktop.
If you use a custom Rom and one of the nice kernels this tablet performes well. There are some Keyboards availablefor example

Thanks for all the opinions guys, I will anyway w8 till price goes down, I am kind of sceptical about rooting and losing warranty on device worth 400 pounds. I already felt worried about this with my HTC sensation which was much cheaper. If the price will drop to about 300 our if I can get it fairly cheap second hand then I will buy it so I guess I will w8 with it.

I bought the Nexus 10 32GB out of curiosity last week, unlocked it and installed AOKP And all the goodies, but now I ended up not even thinking about using it for anything.
I have been using the HTC DNA since it was released, so I wasn't impressed by the N10's screen quality but not disappointed either. For the first few hours, I thought it would replace my laptop but I found myself using my ASUS Zenbook more so than N10 or the DNA. It's not because the N10 Doesn't have any practical utilities, but rather because my laptop do things far more better. Also, I just can't figure out how to comfortably hold the tablet. I thought of buying a case with a built-in stand, but I figured that it would be more convenient to just carry my laptop around instead.
So I'm about to sell my N10 but I just wanted to know how you guys utilize it before I do.

ehhh that's based on your usage really I like to go out and travel a lot, I'm an amateur photographer and i also do vfx stuffs so my laptop is pretty bulky. I only use it when I have to. Other than that when I go out for coffee or photo day I usually carry my nexus 10 and otg usb so I could view them in a bigger screen and sort out what I don't need or need. I also use my nex during relax for youtube, web surfing...etc, I also found myself using it for a recipe in cooking lol :silly: and yes it is not as practical as a laptop but I use it because of portability. But maybe it's not for you since you have the Zenbook :silly:
In addition to checking bookmarked news sites and social networks, I use the kindle and comixology apps (the latter mainly for marvel comics). For reading, I find the N10 superior to a laptop, and for web it's most of the time only slightly inferior (except when you're thrown into an ugly mobile site designed for 3" screens).
As for holding it, I slouch with my feet on the table and find I can keep the N10 at a usable angle and distance by dropping it in my lap. You may want to experiment with various couches/tables to find your ideal position
I'm a unix system administrator by profession, and I wouldn't ever consider using the N10 for work. I still have my cheapo laptop with linux for when I need to work from home.
I use my Nexus 10 for a variety of things, but mainly for reading, gaming, communication through apps like Hangouts, Voxer, and others, and study. I use EZPDF for annotation, best annotator out there. I also use it for music, since the speakers are quite loud. I also use it to time my efforts in volunteer work and record any necessary information (Ministry Assistant), and more. I've been trying to find more uses for it myself, I've only owned it for a week now. Best Android tablet I've used, for sure!

I use it with my hands and fingers.
I found that whenever I owned a laptop it would always sit in one place plugged in constantly. I now stick with a more powerful and more reliable desktop and have a Nexus for when I go out and about since they're much more portable.
I'm at university studying computer science. I use it all the time to type notes and read pdf versions of the numerous textbooks I need, so saves a huge amount of space and weight in my bag. I also use it a lot for the web, like if I'm on a site that requires a lot of reading, I'll often load it up on my tablet even if I'm on it on my laptop just to read it, just because the screen is so much easier to read off for me than my laptops. I use my n10 a lot and it's possibly the best thing I have bought in years, the 10 inch tab fits in my life perfectly. Although I am used to the 10 inch form factor as I had the galaxy tab 10.1 for a year before I got the nexus 10 and 7.
I also have the nexus 4 and the nexus 7. The nexus 7 I mainly use as a ebook reader, to play some games that are awkward on a 4.7 and 10.05 inch screen. Also use it a lot between the large amount of time it takes to charge my n10 up
I do the same as the person above. Also use it for reading books in general, my friends steal it to play games, and it's useful for long car rides even without internet.
Only problem is, is that I am too lazy to figure out how to compile my programming assignments on my Nexus 10 :/

Is there a way to connect my phone with my Nexus 10 besides Bluetooth? Like, if I get a text message or a whats app message on my phone, I could see it on my N10?

Mighty Text. Its even notify you when someone is calling.
I generally don't really use mine at home unless my Desktop is in some kind of inoperable state (I used my N10 earlier to look up some info on a few BIOS settings for my Desktop). If I hear a notification go off, I usually go to my N4, or just minimize the game I'm playing on my Desktop and check Gmail.
I'd love to get some more use out of my N10, just need to figure out how... lol
I use it to play games. test out different ROMs. for skype/chatting when I am playing a game on my desktop. browsing the web. Sometimes watch youtube videos when I am away from desktop. listen to music.
Thanks for Mighty Text. Also what's the best combo to use it as a streaming player of my files on my computer? I wanna use it as a player and make my computer the "server".

I gave up my PC when I bought my nexus 10 so I use it for everything. Most days I just use it for the basic email, news (while on the toilet ), calendar, phone. I have a galaxy nexus but when I'm home I usually just use hangouts,Facebook, or Skype for calls off my tablet.
Its also my Netflix, hooked up to a TV. I went through 3 HDMI cables before I found one that worked on the nexus 10. For some reason it's picky.
Torrents, I have a wifi external HD I use to back things up.
I really want to add a Bluetooth speaker but I spent too much money on my Bose back when I had iPhone 3gs. Now I have to suffer with it.
GPS in the car, tethered to my phone (NFC tag). Gaming, though obviously its far from what my PC was.

Everything! Watching movies, reading emails, social media sites. For editing and sharing pictures and videos. It pretty much replaced a laptop and a desktop.
Web browsing when I'm outside in the backyard smoking or grilling, occasional games, netflix in bed, etc. I should probably use it more for how much I paid for it, but I love it as a tablet. After having a HORRIBLE experience with a TF300t it's perfect for me. No lags unless the app I'm using is laggy on all devices.
Mostly reading (news, books, comics, pocket) I also have a Zenbook but for reading the N10 is far better.

I'm using mine more than my new laptop for news, reading, games, finances, video chat and some phone calls. I only use my laptop for work, excel and Photoshop.

The first two weeks with my Nexus 9, I used to play with it every now and then. Mostly watching videos and taking few notes. The only big thing I can think of doing on my tablet is reading ebooks.
For the past month or more, I have barely used it. Reason being that pretty much everything the tablet can do, our smartphones can do.
Maybe I am wrong to think that a Windows tablet would have been a better choice - so, I would like to hear what you guys use your Nexus 9 to if you already have a decent smartphone?
Looking forward to a good discussion

I bought the keyboard and use it as a chromebook on the go... I am taking online classes and I got all the Microsoft programs on it to do my homework... And my text books are on it...

I use mine as a replacement for my 7 year old desktop. I put the desktop in storage in the basement. The only time I use the desktop is to use fastboot. I also have the Microsoft apps on the n9. I use it in meetings, for spreadsheets and PowerPoints. At home I use mostly for cruising the web. If I didnt need fasrboot for the n9 and my n5 Id ditch all other computers for good, as I no longer play pc games.
book reading, comic reading, music playing, work out tracker... occasionally use it for videos as i have other tablets and laptops that have bigger screens. i got it as a replacement for my galaxy note 8 - which is a damn good device, i just had an upgrade itch going on that wouldn't go away
i've had 3 wintabs, samsung 500t and 700t and currently still have my transformer t100. the battery life is freaking awesome on the t100 - about 11hrs of actual screen on use. only drawback is that no decent browser is very suitable for touch. chrome was the closest, but when they removed stackable tabs it worsened the experience. ie is great for touch... but it's still ie, lol.
Mainly i use it for Clash of Clans and other games, but also for web browsing, YouTube and Streaming (no local media as the 11GB free storage is ridicolous) and thats about it. I sometimes use my laptop (13") to watch movies and TV-shows but in bed i find the tablet more enjoyable for that)

Hmm, when I have both my tablet and phone beside me, I will never pick up my phone. I mean, why would you prefer to read anything on your phone rather than your tablet?
i sold my chromebook and nexus 4. bought a nokia 515 (feature phone) and the nexus 9.
mostly leave the tablet at the house.
i use it for:
comic books (device is perfect for this!)
games (boombeach, madden, etc)
nba league pass
carbon poker
I use it to do my internet surfing at home. Its much more convienient than messing with my laptop just to quickly check something out. Right now I'm at work using my nexus 5 as a hotspot to surf the net on my nexus 9 (don't tell the boss ). I can't stand a lot of the mobile-optimized sites, so unless I am only with my phone, I use the tablet to view the desktop versions. I also play games and keep notes. I also use it for my music playing needs a lot of the time. I use Chordbot Pro to write music on it. That would be difficult on a phone screen.
I use mine to move questions to the Q&A section all day. ?

BTW.... My N7 is getting rusty. I think I'll be getting an N9. Not impressed with Samsung. My daughters Tab 3 is terrible. ?

It's a good device Darth. I'm a little disappointed with its lack of popularity and support. But I enjoy the device a lot. I use mine mostly for browsing, xda mostly, and use it for work where I use it while traveling so I don't have to lug a laptop around.

So I actually use my for working out when I am following a program. I am currently doing Body Beast (no laughing) and ripped the videos onto my Nexus 9. That and my Jaybird Blue Budz and I have my own little private training session .

Lol, yeah, just what you need, another device to keep you busy on xda My wife is still trying to come to terms with my hobby here. I'm tech savvy and she's not. It's an alien world to most "normal" people. But I love it! Love learning new things and helping others.

I'd love to see a distribution of the ages of posters, in general, but particularly on this thread!! Just a quartile say, by 10 year segments. I'm in the >70; my use is primarily listening to the radio at night (poor sleeper) and mail. I find it handy for checking facts while listening/watching/reading.

this is a great device.
other great tablets are the galaxy tab s 10.5 or the z3 tab compact
they are just a bit pricier however
