It's not a bug. That's just how it is with the X10.
Ok.. thank you very much...

Been using the X10 with the MW600 for 3 months now.
You can:
-be synched to your laptop and when you receive a call, the phone will take over.
-listen to radio and answer calls.
-See the phone number of whomever is calling you.
-double press the talk button to redial last outgoing contact.
-Use the play, rewind and forward buttons to control mediascape.
You can't:
-See the name of the contact even if it is saved in your phonebook.
-See the name of the track.
The two can'ts are what stands the mw600 out, but I honestly do not regret getting it as for it has decent audio transmission. Plus, there is a chance of this all being fixed after update by SE

no problem.
I use a mac, so I don't know if this will hold true for you as well. When I use the MW600 as a "headset" the audio quality diminishes, but when I use it as "stereo headphones", the audio quality is great.
Its all in the profiles...

This is essentially true for all bluetooth capable PCs as well. In bluetooth terminology the term "headset" and "headphones" refer to what is called as bluetooth profiles. More info here:
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Bluetooth_profile
The "headphones" or the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) is designed to provide high quality audio (stereo or mono) transmission capabilities between two bluetooth capable devices. Hence, the difference that you notice.

Just a quick dumb question: Can I use the X10's charger to charge the MW600? I am going on a trip soon and just want to carry one charger. Thanks.

Yes, you can use either or.
MW600 also works fine with spotify. Recommend the AKG K 450 headset with the short cable
With android 2.1 the x10 will be able to show track names and caller names as it doesn't lack the blutooth profiles which android 1.6 doesn't have.
Ps: just sitting in the train listening music with astro player through mw 600

afaik, there is no specific profile for displaying music track names, but caller ID work off the phonebook access profile (PBAP). so i'm guessing music track titles work off the phone's pbap as well?
I've just got mine, the quality is really good.
Additional bad points for me:
Mediscape: I can use the play/pause & skip tracks on the video, but doesn't work on the music !?
No "hold" on the buttons, as I keep accidentally touching the volume controls as volume control is touch sensitive
I haven't tried the voice activated calling though...

Weird.. it worked for the music for me.
for the touch sensitive volume button, you should hold it, not swipe it if you want to use the pause/play/next/prev buttons. it shouldn't that hard.
Mine definitely doesn't work with the music (in Mediascape), only with the video...
When I press on any of the 3 buttons:
PREVIOUS KEY / PLAY-PAUSE KEY / NEXT KEY
the light either side of middle button of the x10 lights up, but that's it.
I'm on standard R2BA020 (yeah, I tried switching it off and on again = didn't fix it!)
- also tried SEUS, it said no update for me - followed instructions (including taking the battery out etc)
I've only got one other music app = tuneWiki = the buttons work on that.
So, for me, Must be something wrong with Mediascape's Music program
== Quick Update ==
I've just rooted my x10i / debranded it, and managed further update the firmware (via SEUS) to R2BA026
= Still no joy on the playback controls for Mediascape's Music.
I've resetted the Headset
= Still no joy on the playback controls for Mediascape's Music.
Hope the next major update will fix this for me...
Instead of using the headphones can you activate the speaker phone to listen to the radio?
i just got my mw600 today. I havent used it for the gf's x10 yet (im in charge of the phone, she's just the end user) but it works fine on my k790a. It displays the name of the caller, the song titles and all the buttons work as suggested.
Im curious as to why this old ass phone from 2006 is capable of doing all this while the flagship x10 cant....
Hi guys,
I'm using MW600 bluetooth headset on my X10. I change original headset with my Sennheiser MX 760. Sound quailty is very good. But I don't use MW600 with 2.2 & 2.3 custom roms
I connect it with X10. I start to listen to music. But I have short interruptions on music at various times.
Do you have a bluetooth headset is working properly with 2.2 and 2.3 custom roms?
PS: 3,5 mm audio jack is important for me. Bluetooth device must have this.
Sorry for bad English
Actually I have the same problem as well with my bluetooth fm transmitter using WB CM6. Never had a problem with bluetooth using 2.1.
Any solution to this?
Hi,
I use Trips 1.6.3 and when I have WLan activated I get interrupted bluetooth music. Without WLan everything is OK.

Can you share your rom's link with me?
custom roms have some trouble with bluetooth headsets, because my MW600 works on stock rom, and also work with my computer, with AD2P support (the devise show the title of the song/movie)
Is everyone using MW600 with this phone? Nobody have a different headset
Hi NS_85,
I forgot to say that I normally use a Nokia BH-103 and also have dropouts:-(
Does anybody know a rom which has no bt problems with a headset.

2.1 roms are really the only solution for now. You can use EWjet if you want something snappier.

I tried it but I had this problem:
I pair my MW600 bluetooth handset with my phone. I open android stock music player, mediascape, winamp or etc. My phone returning to the previous screen when I press one of the media control keys While the phone on home screen when I press media control keys, screen loading again and again
media control keys do not work on EWjet.
The last one I used was EWJET 2.1.B.0.1 V001ex. MW600 was fine with it.
I am now on stock 2.1.B.0.1 though. Prefer when I am in control of the modifications
Edit: The problem you are experiencing is caused by that WP7 music player. Disable headset button control in it's settings.

I tried it but, it doesn't fix the problem. Which rom do you use?
I have a Nokia BH-505.
Used to have sporadic blackouts on Froyo, curiously much less with GB (cobrato 1.7.15). Happens every now and then, nothing major - do bear in mind that audio notifications will interrupt your audio stream and that this may be causing the interruptions.
IMHO this has more to do with the BT stack and the ROM than the headset itself.
I don't understand what you are asking for re. the 3.5 mm jack - we ARE talking about BT headsets, right?
Hope this helps

quite simple to replace the in ears with better ones. I heard the MW600 and the sound is not the best. My nokia sounds far better especially in the low frequencies.
btw. the problem ist mostly solved with current GB rom.
Ralf
I have used different BT stereo receivers with it (both 2.1 and 2.3.3 stock):
MW600 works fine, but I don't see track info
Samsung MS3000 works, but make sure you turn the unit on before activate BT in order to connect automatically (this one lacks bass)
Nokia BH-214 works well, but it's replaced by BH-111
Sony DRC-BT30 works well, but I lost it recently.
Isn't it a known fact that Bluetooth and WiFi don't play well together? I seem to remember discussing this issue when I bought my first BT mouse (Logitech MX900) for my then brand new laptop...
Anyway, I think issues were solved by some firmware upgrade of mouse and an improved wifi-driver that addressed the issue of BT-interference. Somehow I think that changes to kernel and/or wifi-critical files may disrupt some of the "built-in" fixes for simultaneous wifi/BT connections, which results in erratic BT-behavior.
So, I think that issues are not really related to the headset rather than the internal bluetooth/wifi-stack. As for how to fix it... Alert the dev's!

Is it possible to use the tablet S (paired to a driod X) as a speaker phone in the same manner as as using a bluetooth headset?

I think headsets were designed specifically to act as bluetooth speakers with your phone and contain all the necessary hardware and software to do such. Your tablet s has no such hardware or software; yes, it has bluetooth, but it is not designed to operate that way. Maybe if somebody wrote a software program to do it, it could, but for the mean time, no your tablet will not work as a speaker for your phone.
I have been able to pair my droidx with the tablet, but not much else. Has anyone been able to stream or transfer files between the two?

Well I'm sure thats not what u meant, but its the only way afaik. U could get urself an online number (e.g. Swype) and just forward all calls from ur droid X to this number.
Works fine, but I was told the caller didnt understand me as clear as he did with my phone's speaker turned on.
not the answer to the OP's question, but its the answer to the thread question is
GrooveIp
set up your google voice number to use google talk as one of you forwarding phone numbers,
the sign into groove ip.

this should be a sticky somewhere mods
Hi Guys,
I have some queries egarding S3, would be great if some may share his/her inputs or feedbacks. I am sure that it would be of help to other members too who would like to know the same.
1) How is the Bluetooth Sound Quality. Its bad in SII but i have seen that S3 has APT-X codex support for lossless audio but in practical, does it really help ?? i mean is the sound quality over bluetooth good.
As currently iam using a Sony MW600 with SII but at higher volumes the audio distort.
2) I have been searching in multiple unboxing video and review videos but no one actually opened the S3 stock headset.
All i know is that the headset does have play/pause , call end/answer and volume up/down buttons.
But i would like to know if the headset is capable of changing the tracks (prev/next) as well.
3) Will the same MHL cable work in S3 which i have for S2. I mean is the cable electrically compaltible ??
4) Will the Same USG OTG cable work which i have for S2 ??
5) Have read in Chainfire thread that Samsung has changed the Kernel Package, so will the USB Jig that i have for S2 work on S3.
Any or all answer on the above queries would be deeply appreciated and would thank in advance for replying.
Code:

No, it can't change tracks. I think there was an app on the Play store for that though.

Yes, I bought one a few days ago which was advertised as a S2 OTG cable. Works fine.
MHL and USB OTG cables that worked with the S2 will work with the S3 (I tried OTG when I had hands-on about ten days ago, MHL should work as it is a connection standard).
Apt-X will sound the same as wired up to ~370kbps for stereo sound, I tested that too. Couldn't discern a difference in my brief testing.
Thanks member68 and NZtechfreak. Now i someone can confirm if the USB JIG from S2 will work in S3 would be gr8....
Oh, very annoying - MHL connectors DO NOT in fact work. So much for it being a connection standard, Samsung have made one specifically for the S3... Sorry about the information above, I am very surprised by this turn of events...

aptX is not lossless. There are four types of aptX codec: aptX®, aptX Enhanced®, aptX Live®, and aptX Lossless®. The aptX codec being used in new bluetooth devices is just aptX® which is a lossy codec, not aptX Lossless® as some others think.
aptX® is definitely an improvement over ad2p, but it is not lossless like I mentioned earlier.

With some help of additional apps from market (like Jays Headset Control for instance) will give you the ability to finetune button actions, like triple press for previous track. But you can freely configure single, double, tripple, press'n'hold, double press'n'hold, ... Although it is intended to be used with Jays A-Jays One, I use it with Jays A-Jays Four, and works with stock headset too and also with HTC headsets ... will probably work with any headset maybe. And it's free.

I have tried just using the standard sound recorder app but all I get is recording through normal mic.
Yes, you can do this. I suspect your problem is in your PCs mixer setup. If you are using Windows, different versions have different ways of getting there, but typically thru Control Panel, Sounds & Audio Devices. Select Mixer Device: audio input for your sound card. You will get a set of controls for each input device. You can select the one you want to use and adjust its volume. I suspect you may be set to use line input but connecting to mic or something like that. It's easiest to check if you use a microphone and audio source (e.g., CD player) for "test" sources and playing with controls til you get recording ok. Then plug you mobile into the same jack.
Good Luck.

Frankly, I don't need it, but just out of curiosity I tried using the standard voice recorder with a mic on a stock headset, and it worked perfectly. So, as long as you have a mic properly connected to your audio socket, you should be all good to go. "Regular" mic will not work, as it has a different connector pinout. Basically, your 3.5mm jack wiring should be like this (starting from the tip, going towards the cable): L-Out | R-Out | GND | Mic. This is the standard pinout used in most phones, including Sammy. On Nokia handsets and some old phones GND and Mic are reversed.
Excuse my bumping, but surely someone has a definitive answer and doesn't mind sharing it with me?

Oh, that's what you are trying to do... OK, it's clear now. In this case, the answer is most definitely negative -- the phone's audio connector only has a microphone mono input. I don't believe such combo connectors (with stereo out and stereo in) even exist in 3.5 mm standard... I personally have never seen one, or heard of it.
