So i have a filename. I love minuit and all the features/customization, but the battery life is killing me BC i work long hours outside. So my question is, shud i just deal or downgrade back to my wonderful battery life from Froyo?

Looking at my previous ROMs on my Vibrant, I have resorted back to Battery Life. Yes, the extra tweaks and pretty customization are very eye candy but in the long run, you want a phone to be a phone that can last you whenever you need it when you go out for a long night or for a mini trip. I feel it's pointless for a pretty arse phone that can only last you a few hours. It's only good for the show. For me, I found a middle ground of battery life and customizables with Toxic8.
From the past, my best battery life comes out from Bi-Winning, then Bionix, then Toxic8, and then the GingerBread ROMs and then CM7.
Kudos to Toxic 8. It looks amazing and it has a good battery life!
You can also try Trigger3.2. I tried it and personally have found it to have better battery life than Bionix. However it's all preference.
Try Trigger3.2/Toxic8/Bionix with bali and see which one works for you!
I've tried them all and Biwinning and Bionix give you the best life and stability (along with a Bali or Immortality kernel)
Toxic8 also rocks with its themes (geared towards young people) but at it's current latest state, the GPS warms up the battery and kills the battery life.
The rest of the ROMS you have to play with and see what you like. The battery life is most important to me and the ROMS mentioned above are fast and stable. I don't need more until an official GB leak is released for the Vibrant.

What is the best vibrant rom for battery life? This is going to be for my g/f I am running MIUI on my evo and was happy to see the vibrant starting to get a taste of that greatness
Anyone have a recommendation for best battery life? I have flashed team whiskey's bionix but it's draining the battery like crazy, battery is dead in literally 6-8 hour with little use, no apps installed, nothing......
as batttery-wise..
Master's Axura has always done the trick for me.
But the key is to recondition your battery.
Recondition it on every rom you go and you will definately last 15+ hours easily with light-moderate use
Stock, bionix v, nero 5... either of these will do. If you want to see some great extended battery life I would suggest to dl the "superpower" and "setcpu" apps. If you tweak these two Apps they can make a big difference.
Most I got out of nero5 as 32+ hours.
Gotta say, the Axura really has the best battery of all the roms I have used and I have used them all, but remember your specific usage habits affect the battery life results.....
Axura has been great for me. I've been on axura, bionix, and nero v5 and axura is by far the best.

I've tried just about every rom out there at this point and they all get decent battery life for me. It's when I start using OC kernels that I start seeing alot of battery drain but even those are getting better.
Note that I'm running MIUI 1.6.3 with Platypus NEO-03 and the KB1 kernel. Does anyone else's battery drop by about 2% every few minutes?

Take your battery out lay ot on a flat surface and spin it.
If it spins good, you have a bad battery.
I read that somewhere but idk where ;p.
Condition your battery a few times. That being said MIUI is going to be known for horrible battery life until Sammy releases gingerbread source.

Uh? I was getting way better battery life on MIUI than in CM7.
@OP: Battery life sucks on all GB roms now, they are far from what Froyo offers, in term of battery life of course.
That said, my battery life improved greatly with this setup: MIUI + Platypus Revolutions Kernel + KB5 Modem + Juice Defender (optional). I was very happy with the battery life i was getting...but, i decided to go back to Froyo for awhile.

I didnt mention anything about CM7....
Said in general battery life on any GB rom is going to suck, well compared to 2.2 or 2.2.1.
I was on MIUI. Loved it but I hated the battery life Extremely SUX when it comes to battery life and I know also from using vibrant for the last year That it has Great battery cycles life.
I would install a stable rom for at least a day to see how its going
Hope that Helps
It's that time of the year again that I feel that I need to do something with my Vibrant or I'll feel bored with my fun, so I want to know what the best ROM is in terms of performance and most importantly battery. Battery is everything to me as I'm out of the house or near a port for the whole day, everyday. I was leaning towards the CM7 ROM, but I heard that mod outputs poor battery life.
Any ROMs?
With CM7, you'll get about 13-14 hours of battery life.
Hm.. what ROM are you running now?
I use MIUI Lithium and i've been getting around 25-30 hours of battery life with medium usage. This rom has been super super super stable for me and GPS works too.
when battery life is the main preference, which ROM should I chose?
I am using CM7 for the last 3 weeks and it's been horrible compared to stock.
Thanks!!!
I like the team toxic rc3 D9 has a good battery life and very smooth
why not taste a little ics passion v11
18 to 21 hours of batt. I'm lovin this rom!!!
check it out....
D9 has one of the best, but of course is based off of 2.2. Also, hasn't been updated in a while.
ICS Passion is by far the best ROM for the Vibrant at the moment. No lag, everything works, and the battery life is amazing. I recommend it. Have been using it since v5 and the improvementsare great and good to see.

I am not so sure bout this one. I just flashed my phone to ICS passion V11 and it only lasts half a day with wifi on, gps off, sync off... or maybe it is just me.
I've tried a dozen ROMs over the past year and they've all been about the same until recently. The Passion ICS ROM has had the best battery life that I've ever had on the Vibrant. The only thing that drains it is the pulse notification light. It's a great feature and I love it, but it drains the battery quick and it tends to come back on every time you reboot the phone. I ODINed from LIDROID to Passion ICS.
I will have to concur with the other few. The Passion ICS so far seems to cut the cake... also with appearance.
If you havent already you could consider Trigger 3.3. I cant speak on others.
Battery life was pretty reasonable on there with full-day wifi usage, net searching, multiple app usage, some music listening and customizing, and often some bluetooth...lets not forget brightness mid to high.
But you may have to also consider the amount of cycles your battery has been using. Maybe you can come out better with a replacement IF its feeling like its not performing at it peak potential.

well is it available for Turkish language_?
Thanks
Ics passion is horrible battery life for me
...and here we go again.
I've been using ICS Passion v11 for a few days, and I've consistenntly getting 30+ hours of battery, and Wi-fi is always on, screen brightness about half maximum.
I have been using DOC's Master ICS ROM V2 and have been getting 12 - 15 hours with heavy use while connected to a bluetooth headset. I have 1 glitch though, I can not send pictures through the stock text messaging app. I used Passion beta v5 and had extremely horrible battery. I read that all the battery drains have been fixed. I am going to give Passion v12 a try. hopefully i can send pictures from text on there!
zendroid 2.1.2 with bali UV kernel
I couldnt believe it, but my girlfriends vibrant showed 3 days and 14 hours on battery since plugging it in last time with still 8% battery left. Thats absolutly insane on a standard 1500 battery. Personally i dont care that much about heavy use but rather standby time. thats always been best with bali 1.8.8 uv kernel and zendroid combination (probably bionix is good too - in general 2.2 roms seem to be much better in this regard)
im running bionix 1.3.1 pair with bali kernel 1.8.8 no uv no oc. so far so good. i can run it for ALMOST 2 days. moderate to heavy usage.
If your looking for speed/stability and extremely good battery life you should go with Fisherman's V3 Bionix 1.3.1 with the bali kernel. That rom is the ish make sure after you flash the rom you use the battery calibrator from the market and calibrate your battery and your open for buisness
I'm on Eclipse and it has GREAT battery life. I can last through the day on 1 charge.
Does CM7 have a good battery life? I'm thinking of changing it up a bit, since I'm always on Eclipse.
Its always a bit subjective to the user, but I have been on CM7 for a few weeks now and feel as though I am getting better battery life than I did on Eclipse. Actually if I was just to break it down between blur based ROMs and Cyanogenmod ROMs, Cyanogenmod always seems to be better in this aspect. CM7 and CM10 had excellent battery life for me. Liberty and Eclipse, while good blur based ROMs, both had not so good battery life.
Honestly I can get about 1 day and 3 hours on Eclipse 2.3 but when I flashed CM7 for the first time, my battery drained within 8 hours!!!! After I let it settle for a week and re-calibrated the battery, it lasted for about 19 hours ha still not good enough for me but it also depends on how much you use your phone. I was a heavy gamer and I had to narrow it down I am now running MIUI 2.8.10v and would never look back:laugh:
