I somehow lost the ability to dual touch.
It started after I installed a Mini rom by accident. I used the sony recovery and that fixed the phone. However my dual touch never came back.
I have tried diff roms and even the manual install "insmod" with with cy8ctma300_ser.ko but no luck!
Any other ideas?

I can't find a way to install Cyanogenmod and now my phone is bricked, but that's no problem I can work that out.
But I have installed maybe 100 times a ROM and it almost everytime works, but I can't install Cyanogenmod8 V7.0, V7.5, V7.5 Hotfix 1.
I've tried it many times but I can't get it to work.
I also swiped everything that had that option in xRecovery but I ALWAYS get a boot loop at SE logo.
Before I tried to install Cyanogenmod8 V7.0 I had Cyanogenmod8 V6.5 installed that worked like a charm.
However, it costs some time and work to update with SEUS, flash, root, install xRecovery manually, install a custom ROM etc. so I want to know what ROM the best is to install before you install Cyanogenmod8 V8.0
Aparently, you can't install Cyanogenmod8 V8.0 from either 6.5, 7, 7.5 and 7,5 with hotfix installed.
Btw, my MD5 hash matched the ones people in the topic posted.
Thanks in advance!
A few things:
1) It's not called Cyanogenmod 8 (that would be Cyanogenmod based on an Android kernel that hasn't been released yet).
2) The safest way to install a ROM is by getting the lastest official ROM from Sony (through SEUS) and then flashing your ROM.
3) Are you sure you're following the instructions??....most if not all reboot loops are caused by people not following the instructions.
you need the baseband and kernel that are listed in the first post otherwise new build will just cause bootloop

I Owain,
I believe that can be the cause why I cannot update CM7v.6 to CM7v.8!
I have currently CM7v.6 with:
Smallbandversion: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
Kernel-version: 2.6.29
So the last 2 digits are different, it should be:
Smallbandversion: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel-version: 2.6.29
But why I am abble to install CM7v.6 and not CM7v.8?
How can I upgrade Smallbandversion to the correct?
Thanks

Thanks Owain!
But where can I find the last Baseband?
Can you please add the file to the CM7 thread and a small explanation how to update it?
As soon as I do it I will report it here.
Rgs.
Well I think I understand how to do it!
Need only 3 steps to change baseband for X10 Mini Pro:
1 - Download specific Baseband file for your X10 Mini Pro
Basebands for X10 Mini Pro (still looking for U20a firmwares)
2 - Download last FlashTool application
[TOOL] [UPDATE 22/03/2011] Flashtool BETA version 0.2.9.1
3 - Install baseband using Flashtool
[FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies
Owain, wich file I need to use for my X10 mini pro pt-pt?
The one from step 1 or one from step 3?
Thanks

Hey guys, I just installed the rom GingerDX v17 on my x10 mini pro and i am having some small (i think) problems. Ill make a list to make it easier for you to read.
- I flashed with the basic package (gingerDX.zip) but on the post of this rom there are more things to be installed. How could I install the "newCMParts.apk"?
- The second file to be installed is only if I use a stock kernel. How can I discover if my kernel is stock or custom? It says Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1 but I have no idea what it means. And if I have to install it I should use the same method of the question above?
- How can I change the keyboard layout? I have a "ç" that is being typed as a ","
- The lights of the keyboard are not turning on, any hint? I searched all configs and I couldnt find how to do it.
- My cellphone reseting randomly, I am running out of battery kinda fast and the wifi not always connect perfectly. Anybody knows something about this? Maybe if I install the file on the same question itll make it better?
Thank you in advance!
Nobody has any hint?
I am trying to activate Wireless Tethering on my "Rooted" Xperia mini
Model: E10i
Firmware:2.1-update 1
Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel: 2.6.29
[email protected] #1
Build: 2.1.1.A.0.6
I tried Open Garden, Barnacle, Wirlesstether, and none of these apps worked.
What happens is that the wifi tethering starts somehow, and other devices such the Transformer (HC) or the PC are able to detect the wireless service, but they are stuck in "Obtaining IP".
Also, I noticed that in whole the apps I tested, the Upload stucked to "0", while the download was active.
The Wifitether app also notified that the Kernel version of my phone was not supporting tethering. But somehow some users affirm that they managed to make it work.
So my Question is basic and simple:
What should I do???
Note that:
- I already tested any possible settings in all the apps.
- I followed some guides but mostly couldn't understand a word since I am not familiar with development terms.
- I of course searched this forum for a solution, but there aren't any specific to this problem.
- In one thread a user confirms that he made it work and the problem was that he needed Iptables.
here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235541
He shared this link for a solution, which is all gebrish to me:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1184907
(Something about Kernel needing IPTable support, not really clear).
Any help would be appreciated.
You could try using a custom kernel like nAa kernel. And nAa MiniCM7. It has tethering built in. (Of course you need to have your bootloader unlocked first.)
tnx for the reply.
I just learned that ICS will come in march for the xperia mini.
I guess it will solve the problem.
Is this a joke?
w.xperiablog.net/2012/01/05/sony-ericsson-confirms-unchanged-kernel-for-android-4-0-ics-release/
Xperia x10 mini and xperia mini are different phones. X10 mini (E10i) will not recieve an official ICS-update. Hence, your best option is to unlock you bootloader and change to naa kernel and ROM.

Hello!
I hope you don't take me for on of those noobs on the registration video :silly: ... I've been around here for a while "behaving" so well that I didn't ever realize I was unregistered, hehe
My problem is that my USB connector is really (really) dead, but I want to get rid of the VGA camera and my average of 5 reboots/day.
So I want to upgrade from my:
X10 Mini Pro (u20i)
MiniCM7 v15 (2.3.3)
Kernel 2.6.29
Baseband M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
ClockWorkMod v3.2.0.0-r3
I'd like to get MiniCM7 2.2.1, buuut, I can't update the kernel to nAa 13 with FlashTool because of the missng USB connector. The closest aproach I could fin is this, but it was unsuccessful, ouch.
So I searched for I while, but I'm getting more and more confused with the compatibility issues and combinations, I couldn't really find out which is the best upgrade I could get using the tools and kernel that are already loaded an my SD card.
Any kind of help or clue will be very appreciated...
Thanks in advance!

thanks a bunch, but i only have access to a x10 mini at the time of writing. just to avoid confusing you, i only used the appropriate files for the x10 mini, (strictly from the x10 mini, not pro forums) and strictly the files from the pro forums for the x10 mini pro.
This forum is used for both models Xperia X10 Mini and Xperia X10 Mini Pro
But if you need only the files of X10 Mini, here they are:
Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630023
Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629334
=).. I hope this time I could help you more!
