Gingeritis or Uber Bamf? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What's everyone's opinion on these two new roms? My flash addiction is fighting me and craving a new fix, but I'm undecided between these two.
Also, what is the difference between gingeritis and gingeritis 3d?

Synergy. Roms faster and smoother. Like the look of it too, plus more theming options

Gingeritis is just straight sense. Gingeritis3D is similar to the ROM found on the EVO 3D. Other than that they are largely the sale. I'd go with Gingeritis because its been devlopend longer and uses Ziggy's kernel. Other gingerbread kernels don't work well on it. It's rock solid, unlike uber BAMF at this point.
I'm not a fan of Synergy for many reasons. That's all I'm gonna say to that.

+1 Gingeritis 3D VII for solid battery life using ziggy kernel on stock battery 3 days.

What are you doing? Using your phone as a paper weight? ...3 days would be amazing

I was able to get 3+ days out of the extended with regular, moderate use, so 3 days with less apps than I use, less display usage, etc. isn't completely out of the question. Standby battery life is incredible compared to any other build I've used.

I say uber bamf or skyraider zeus
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk

Gingeritis 1.2 is sense 2.1, gingeritis 3d is sense 3.0, other than that they are exactly the same. Both use ziggys kernel by default and work with any radio mr2 or higher (although they work great with chingys new leak as its taken from the same new base as the rom, same with uber bamf ). Right now im on uber BAMF 2.5 with ziggys kernel clocked @ 1.344, bamf seems to have a bit more lag and slightly less batt life than gingeritis 3d beta 6 for me (which is my dd) hence the oc'ing to get rid of lag. Bamf is cool, over all its a great rom, but little things like rosie remaping, to be smooth as butter with no oc'ing needed, and great support from the man chingy keep me going back to gingeritis 3d beta 6, its by far the most advanced and stable 3d rom out there for the tbolt, imho, and batt life is hands down the best out of every single rom ive been able to get my hands on, sense 2.1, 3.0 or aosp.

I've ran both. Currently using uber bamf. Have to say I am seeing no lag with bamf. Also seeing better battery life on bamf so far. To each their own. My advice would be to try both, you can't go wrong with either imo.

Good advice above. All of the GB roms are now based on Chingy's leak. So its just a matter of preference. All the major players have pretty stable roms at this point. One thing that *seems* true is all bolts differ from one another. What works well for me maybe not so much for you. Try a few and see what you think. I'm back to running synergy for now. I just like the animations.

i think its all in what youre comfortable with. Ive tried both and i find myself going back to Chingys Gingeritis 3D Beta VII. There don't seem to be as many Mods for it though. Bamf seems like it has a lot more mods but at least for me it seemed to also have more bugs in it. Of course you could always do like I do. Search through the XDA forums and find tutorials on how to make your own mods.

The new Gingeritis ROMs really do have very impressive battery life. With minimal use, 3 days is plausible.

[Q] whats The best Evo 3d CDMA rom?

Hello xda!
ive just upgraded from the evo shift to a evo 3d i unlocked the hboot 1.5
i know that i have to use fastboot to flash roms/kernels
im just wondering what everyones best setup is?im looking for something with good battery life and alot of tweaks.I dont really really care for eye candy or themes lol they would be nice but i noticed the themed roms ive tried have bad battery drain.ive tried pretty all of the recent ones on xda but im wondering if there are any older ones or something that are stable and have tweaks with good battery life?
let me know what you guys use as a everyday rom
im tired off always flashing new roms lol
Scrosler's CleanRom if you like your stock rom, but want a few enhancements, cleaned up, and much better battery life.

ViperRom by far. Super fast, stable, and smooth and has every mod you could want out of a sense rom minus beats. (but who really cares)
I prefer Virus' "infectedROM Eternity™" best one I've used so far... (love Cyanogenmod, too)
Deck's 1.0 for compatibility and battery life. Synergy for blazing speed and near stock feel.

I've tested almost all of them, and I'd have to recommend either InfectedROM Eternity or Warm TwoPointThree. Those two offer the best stability and speed without sacrificing battery life.
Or do like others have and spend some time testing all of them.

No one can tell you because we all have our own personal preferences. All you could do is test them out. ROMs are like food to me. I can't tell you what you will like because it taste good to me.

you can't go wrong with either warm 2.3, eternity, or clean rom. I jump between those 3 roms. if you are looking to overclock I suggest mwalt2's bcblend however I personally run with the stock kernal as my daily. my phone is the in house dj at my work so run pandora all day long connected to wifi. I average between 12-16 hours of battery.

[Q] What Rom Do you Have On your THUNDERBOLT, or what is your favorite Rom.

i have a Thunderbolt with the miui rom on it currently, i like it and its very customizable , but i want some other rom. what is the best rom you have ever used or what rom are you using. and why is it the best. like battery life and performance.

overclocked to 1.7 runs awesome for me. plus sense 3.5

MIUI is my favorite so far.
How does Eternity compare to Bamf/Bamf Soab? It's hard to find clear comparisons with all of the variety out there.
ps. I'm actually still on the stock GB rom right now
Enternity here as well.
I believe because of all the Sense 3.5 elements, it's a hair slower than others.
Mine is OC'd to 1.2 with Lagfree Governer.
That being said, it's fine with me.
Rock solid. I've dabbled in every ROM out there.
BAMF does make a solid ROM. DroidTh3ory was making killer ROMs.
I have a backup of ProTekk's updated CM style ROM to go just because...
In my opinion, Eternity and BAMF SonOfAB ran very similar in speed/performance and reliability.
Patiently waiting working Data, Phone and sms/mms on Twisted/DroidVicious ICS build...
All the ROMs you mentioned are solid. But the right one for you is like asking you what kind of car/truck you drive.
Backup, try 'em...only way you'll know.
Using MIUI although the Son of a Bliss ROM was also one that kept me for a long time. I still feel CM7 has battery drain issues but maybe it's just me.
Eternity for me...
My only other choice would be BAMF SoaB because I want Sense 3.5 but I prefer Eternity and I really can't think of a reason why, it just works for me.
CM7 for me!
Love my 11/14 release of CM7. I have never had batt issues, maybe cause I cal the batt after each new rom?
CM7 seems to me the closest total Android experience I have found for my TB.
I'm looking forward to CM9!
Where can I download cm7 or soab

[Q] Best current Sense ROM

Which ROM is the most popular and still getting getting constant development? Looking for stability, speed and battery life.
Best is currently Warm TwoPointThree (3.5), however I dont think that will be developed much more if at all. Same with the regular Warm TwoPointThree. Eternity is really great, but the latest revision it is on is giving some people problems installing it, so if you download something like R74 (for the sense 3.0) or r172 (for sense 3.5) then you will be good. Eternity is still being developed

Thanks for the reply.
So even if Warm TwoPointThree (3.5) isn't getting more development, it'll still be very stable as a daily driver right? I'm assuming it's not going getting further development because they're moving on to ICS?
ViperROM is good too.

ViperROM seems pretty interesting too. What are the pros and cons for Warm TwoPointThree (3.5) vs ViperROM?
Dude give fresh rom a go stable stockish excellent battery life.
Definitely try supra 2.0 then flash 2.1 on top of it. He just released 2.2 but it was a bit quirky for me. It is a very stable rom and it is themed very well.

I've found only ONE sense ROM that has zero problems on my particular phone, that's Gingeritis 3d 1.2.
It's an older ROM but I'm getting 12 -14 hour battery life after getting less than 8 hours with the latest Infected ROM.
I could list all the ROMs I've run, there's over a dozen, but, so far, Gingeritis 3d is the ONLY problem/annoyance free ROM and that includes the stock ones.
NOTE: Some ROMs have very tiny problems, minor annoyances, others have major ones such as frequent rebooting for no reason, inability to make certain settings work, etc. etc..
NOTE: Tried the latest infected ROM again, battery life seems a little better, don't know why? Did a dirty flash over 248, maybe that was the fix?
Now back to Gingeritis 3D!

It depends if she likes sense or not. I've been running eternity which is a sense 3.5 rom which runs excellent, stable and fast. And for aosp I've run thundershed cm7.2. Very quick and stable. Another cm7.2 based rom to check is the new rom zombie. I just loaded it up and so far is awesome. Has a nice red theme to it.

That 3.5 Rom drains crazier then a rat in outhouse. In ten minutes lost 10% then lost more about the same rate. This Rom needs to be fixed.as that is not stable. Seems as is stock os the best on the battery, and that is sad. Also your my Verizon app won't work which is another area of concern with limited data and shared plans we need to have an app that works. UNACCeptable people to have those two issues. My Verizon app is not.bloate as it gives vital account information.

Dont listen to this idiot. He doesn't know how to set a rom up to save his life so don't pay attention to what he says. He has been banned twice already. Eternity gets better battery life than any rom i have tried. That includes stock which has horrible battery life.

You force me to agree with the troll, damn it! I have to qualify your statement with: 'which eternity'? I was very happy with 248 but when I updated to my battery life dropped down to 5 - 6 hours(!) with no change in the setup.
I'm getting over 14 hours of battery life with Gingeritis 3d by comparison and the phone is getting the same or more use.

Yes, r248 had better battery life then the latest test builds.
Why is that you ask?
As I stated in the Eternity thread, the newest build has a test kernel from Ziggy based on the latest OTA, as is the new test build Rom.
That kernel has an identified and known issue where the Performance and On Demand governor are locked at Max, no matter what you do.
The solution:
Change governor to Lag Free, or install Imos 6.2 kernel for Mr4 based roms, or the Bamf 3++ kernel.
Then apply your preferred CPU settings.
Battery use should return to as good or Better then r248.
The new kernel in the Rom is being reworked currently to resolve the issue.
So, the concern is with the kernel, more so then the Rom.
As far as Gingeritis having better battery life, I don't doubt that any Sense 3.5 Rom is going to be somewhat more draining on our devices/batteries.
Im talking about r248 but i still had decent battery on the test builds.

Your explanation is very much appreciated but......
I never thought I'd say this and it's subject to change from hour to hour...... I'm pretty much stuck on Gingeritis 3D, getting up in the AM, subjecting the phone to fairly heavy use and seeing 50% battery or more remaining when I go to bed is something I thought I'd never see after abandoning my BB for Android and.....
I seem to have lost my enthusiasm for messing with this phone for some reason? Every thing works now with Thunderstick BB or Eternity or Liquid or ???? and the only reason I change from one ROM to another is some minor annoyances and battery life so.... I think maybe I'll leave well enough alone.
I'm saving my flashing desires for when the devs get ICS with Sense 4.x, I'll don't think I'll flash ICS with Sense 3.x and I might just wait for Jellybean?
I have about forever left on my contract and then we'll see what's up.
So it changed as I said it might! Tried the Bamf kernel and battery life is back to normal.
Up until yesterday I had been running the Thunderstick GenII rom for the last 6-7 months (been running Thunderstick roms since last September..when Verizon bricked my phone with their update). It is a very stable Sense rom, and the only issue I had with it was my custom ring tones would sometimes get confused. The only reason I upgraded was to try something new (now running Thunderstick FullBlown) and I am half tempted to go back to the GenII just because it has some features I like that the FullBlown version does not.
Been running ThunderStick ROMS (FB, BB) for a good while... They just work on my phone. YMMV. Flashed SfKCM7 (AOSP) last nite and it runs real smooth... Gonna ride with this til I get the itch
