[Workaround] Corrupted Widget Issue on ADWLauncher - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi All!
I'm using the Slade87 ROM MiniCM6 final and was having trouble with the corrupted widget issue, caused by moving apps to SD using the android 2.2 feature.
The workaround i'm using is:
- Do not use the android move to sdcard feature.
- i use the app Link2sd from the market, putting the apps in the 2nd partition of the sdcard.
I know that someone must already have found this same solution but i could not find anything so i'm posting it here.
This solution is handy for the owners of the x10 mini pro because we have very little space in our phones....

Sorry, but Android don't recognize widgets from sd card...

Thats why the solution above works.
The apps are in sd card although they were not moved by android's default move to SD feature.
This is mainly to save some space on the phone since there is little space on x10 mini pro for apps.

[Q] Froyo App2sd not reliable?

Hey!
I had some apps moved to the internal storage using the stock app2sd feature of Froyo... only to discover that some of them got lost after one or more reboots.
Data is still there but the apps are not installed anymore. Only way to recover them is to reinstall them from the market.
Anybody else facing this issue?
Cheers,
Kashban

means that you are testing a new beta, correct? Any improvements on wlan?
Thanks
I don't have these problems on A70, running 2.0.54.
But I don't have a ton of apps
Also, I've managed to fix WiFi problem on encrypted network.
Switch to AES (from TKIP), WPA2-PSK, channel 1, fixed IP (before was assigned via DHCP).
am I doing something wrong cause when I seem to use app2sd to move to internal storage it moves to the 8GB storage and not the 32 GB microSD card I have installed. what am I doing wrong?
I also had the problem with apps having issues, but I uninstalled app2sd and reinstalled and it seemed to fix the issue (the manual update cratered)
You are doing nothing wrong.
App2SD as Archos hasimplemented it uses the internal SD.
You can't change this.

so then the microsd card is just for my music and movie files?
can I even save ebooks(kindle, nook, google, aldilko) to the card or is that also just limited to the internal storage?
That up to that Software, not up to Archos or Android.

You cannot save to your SDCard. These apps work with "sdcard" which is the name for internal memory. The actual sdcard is sdcard\sdcard
What I do is keep all the epubs on the internal memory and all the pdf books on my 32GB sdcard. That works for me.
You seem to be working with / for Archos, may I ask you a few questions:
1) Will the next firmware offer the option to hide the soft buttons menu bar?
2) Is it possible to 'resize' the system (app) storage? Archos has 256MB RAM and 299MB of app storage. The Galaxy S, i saw, has 1.7GB app storage. Surely it does not have 1.7GB RAM.
Thanks

[Q] Move apps to sd card?

I have a sony Ericsson x10 mini pro. I'm wondering if its possible to move apps to my sd card, because the phone doesn't have a big internal memory. I heard something about having to root the phone, and doing something to the sd card. Could someone guide me through that, or tell me more about it? How will that effect the apps?
Thank you x
BTW, sorry if this is in teh wrong part of the forum, i wasn't sure what section it came under
I am also trying to find out the answer to this question. All i have been able to find out through search is that one has to root the phone and there is probably just one application superone click that allows you to do that currently for X10mini/pro 2.1 version. However once one has rooted through superone click, how do you then transfer all your applications to the SD card and whether its possible or not is my question. Hoping someone answers soon so i can take the risk of rooting.
There is an app that you can get at the market to enable you to transfer apps to SD..
App2SD and Link2SD.. just search on the Market
and also search the forums for these 2 apps, there are dedicated topics for these with more detailed discussions...
I've tried both App2SD and Link2SD along with a few others... none of them install on X10mini/pro runing on v 2.1. They require some sort of partition on the SD card which i have no idea how to do.

There is no. Of videos of partition of sd card in YouTube.
I m using link2sd and I feel its better than app2sd.
.
If you use Android 1.6/2.1 then you have to use link2SD.
Use this guide for partitioning the sd card
SD Card Partitioning
Or if you have gone to the new Android 2.2/2.3 you dont need these steps, because they are integrated in the OS itself. There are some advantages running 2.2 or 2.3
Good luck
Thank you all... It worked!!!
Used link2SD and created partition on SD card as advised by Tommylee567. Transfered my apps to SD Card. Only issue i am having after the root is that Skype is giving me problems. Have to take the battery out to reset the phone and stop it from ringing continuously whenever someone calls me on skype. I didn't experience this problem before though.
Anyways atleast i got my apps transfered to SD Card.
Thanks Tommylee
I have partitioned my ad and installed link2sd. However it gives an error saying the 2nd partition not found. i have followed all the steps correctly and my mini pro is rooted. Can anyone help? Please!!!

[Q] Organize The MicroSD

Hello friends,
My phone is a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray ST18i (2011)....but my question is not related to the phone but all android phones.
I try my best to keep the folders and partitions organized in my laptop. but the same cant be done in the phone's sd card.
if i install a app for an instance, say Handcent app, it creates a folder in the main (root) of the SD card (i suppose /sdcard), with the name "Handcent" and similarly every app i install creates folders and now i have a big messy link of folders.
and also many are uninstalled but the folders are left alone in the card that i need to delete. (which i tend to forget).
Is there a remedy for this matter? anything that will remove the folder and contents (with user permission) when uninstalling the app?
SD card is littered with names and unknown codes that i dont know which app created this.
Please provide a solution that i can keep the card organized well.
Im running ICS 4.0.4 custom rom, with 32GB Class 4 Kingston MicroSD Card.
Thank you all,
Tim
Download system Cleanup from market. It will list those folders as "Delete Dead datafolder".
This tool require root I guess.
If you said about this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SystemCleanup.Inteks.org&feature=search_result
it is not the one. cause that is something for the data and app folder inside the android box. not on the sd card. i think something is fitting on SD Maid
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.sdm&feature=search_result
Will try the maid and give feedback.
Thank you!
Actually both of the apps work good. need to do some work with that SD Maid. very good one. but need patience to work with. And the other one is good but does all in the system itself. good to clean some caches.
Thanks! will be digging for more.

Is it the apps or the data for the apps that is taking all of the space? Most of what I have seen has been small asps that download huge amounts of data that they store in the Android directory on the internal (emulated) card. FolderMount allows you to move those directories to an external card, but it does require a rooted device.

Moving apps to SD

Hey everyone,
Just trying to move my big apps to the SD card to save internal space.
I have read around that it's not possible due to a limitation of KK.
But I'm asking myself with my Shield Tablet can... and it's also on KK.
Thanks
Assuming you're rooted? Try kk external SD card patch, then you can use folder mount to shift the app files to SD card, although not the app itself
Thanks I'll try
obviously i'm interested in moving games obb files to th SD

Once rooted you can use apps like FolderMount, GL to SD or Link2SD or that Xposed module OBB to SD (I think).
My favourite is FolderMount since it's very easy to set up and use. Link2SD is more for the advanced user since you need to partition your SD card, but it's probably the more elegant solution. It's also able to move APK, DEX and lib files. However it stopped working on me some time ago and wouldn't move the OBBs...
Please post questions in the Q&A section

Thanks I will try exposed module since I'm interested to move obb folders.
otherwise i can't understand why Nvidia has this option by default (no unlock or root needed) just clicking move to SD into the app manager menu and Sony hasn't....
I use obbs to SD and it works perfectly fine
Updates to moving apps to sd
Hi, I'm posting this here since we're anyhow talking about apps to sd for Z2.
I wanted to know if Z2's next update will include the function to move apps to external memory. Sony recently released the kitkat update for T2 with the ability to move apps to external memory. So what are the chances like for Sony to release an update for Z2 that enables this function?
Will they even consider this first of all?
This is the one main reasons why I haven't yet purchased Z2 and I'm thinking of Z1. I install only heavy games and the very thought of investing a so much on a phone and feeling stuck, due to insufficient space, is pretty unsettling.
I've already posted this on sonymobile forum. Just thought I might get some info here as well.

KK sd fix allow you to write on the SD but in app manager doesn't appear the Move to SD option.
I used the exposed module and manually moved the obb folders to the SD. All working fine for now.
Thanks
