Strange behaviour since 1.2.A.1.174 update

Since I updated to 1.2.A.1.174 I've noticed a couple of problems
Embedded Youtube videos no longer work (The video player launches, the busy spinner spins for a while, then I get a "This video cannot be played" message)
The "Categories" option in the YouTube app never finds anything anymore (but videos on the front page play ok)
Text displays oddly in the web browser - text disappears when the letters reach the bottom of the screen, rather than scrolling off. This is most noticable when letters with trailing tails (g, q, etc) disappear sooner, leaving words with letters missing at the bottom of the screen
Anyone else seeing these, or has my update (or the subsequent universal root and crapware removal) gone wrong?

I noticed this in aContacts app - the work "log" shows as "lo " etc. Thought it was a bug in the app as that's the only place I've noticed it though.
I have a feeling YouTube being broken is unrelated to the update - I've noticed that the categories view loads fine when my phone is on 3G, but fails over my home wifi, so there might be something else going on. I haven't tried playing embedded videos over 3g yet, as I don't want to waste my bandwidth!

[Q] Problem with Dolphin HD browser

Does anyone have problems with scrolling windows in Dolphin HD?
eg when I'm in Hotmail, the window won't scroll down at all, just displays as many messages as fit on the screen, with no obvious way to scroll down. Have also tried using the gesture to scroll to end of page, but the browser doesn't seem to recognise there is more to the page.
No problems, but I'm using Mini version.

i have had it happen randomly. luckily, going to portrait gives me more page space, and zooming still works
Same problem in Google Reader.
I have problems time to time, with specific web pages.. but those pages have problems with Windows 7 & Firefox also
It's because of embedded java or flash crap inside web page.
Edit: Scroll works in those pages after you zoom it bigger, also links don't work before zoom..
There are some problems with scrollbars in Android. If you have a scrollbar into another scrollbar (for example an iframe) one of these scrollbars won't work. They said it's for make a better surfing experience

I belive that Dolphin is utilizing the base stock browser for rendering, and the scrolling problem also happens with that one. (I've seen it on Android 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 devices so far.)
A workaround that usually works is to zoom in the page a little, and it should then be scrollable...

[Q] Web Browsing & Zoom question

While playing with a Note at AT&T today, I noticed an oddity that i also experience on my Asus tablet. When I zoom in on a web page, as I scroll down the page tends to 'slide' from side to side.
On my phone, when I zoom in, it says 'locked' on the text and won't move to the side unless I intentionally move it left & right.
On the store phone, it was default web - on the Asus it's Opera.
Is there a setting so that as I scroll down it doesn't shift from side to side??

[Q] Horizontal scrolling inside an e-mail

As I didn't find anything related, I wonder if anyone else have come across this, or if it's just my device.
When I open up an e-mail and scroll to the right, this is what happens:
First scroll seems fine, when I drag from right to left using the entire screen area.
On the second scroll, I put my finger on the right side of the screen, and when I start dragging to the left, the image jumps back 1/3 to the right, before moving to the left again.
This problem came right after I upgraded to 4.0.3 (stock I9100XXLPQ) and never happened on 2.3.6.
Tried both native email client and Enhanced Email from the marked. Same issue.
Seems to be related to e-mail clients only, as scrolling horizontally in the native browser and the gallery works just fine. Also dragging left/right in the Nova launcher is very smooth.
Anyone have an idea about what could be the cause to this problem?

Ok let me put this in a nice way. Samsung completely screwed up the scrolling in ICS. So to answer your question: Samsung is the cause of your problem...
Just flash your gingerbread or a good old cm9.
Have a good day :]

Android web browsers - unwanted zoom on text field selection

Hi,
This is a thing that has annoyed me with Android from the start, but after a lot of searching, I have not found a way to disable or stop the behavior.
So my problem is that with all versions of Android and all the web browsers for Android I have tried, web pages always zoom in when you select a text entry field on a web page.
So for example on my Note 3 and Nexus 7 I go to, say theregister.co.uk. The phone /tab is in landscape mode and the page is set to a zoom where all the article titles are legible. There is a search field at the top right hand corner of the web page which is also a a legible size. I select it to enter text and the screen is zoomed in so that the field fills the whole of the screen, that is not filled by the keyboard.
If any of the text I start to enter brings up any suggestions, due to the zoom level, they are lost behind the soft keyboard. I zoom out to look at them and they dis-pear. I select the text field again to add or delete text, to make those suggestions come up again and I get zoomed in to far again. I then give up put the phone or tablet down and use a windows laptop etc instead.
Now I understand why this would have been desirable initially in Android, when phones had small screens and on ones with small screens today, but why is this needed on larger screens or even tablets?
It makes things like posting this forum post very frustrating on an Android device. I know there is an App for XDA, but is is not a powerful as using the forum direct through a web page. So I cannot replace having a windows etc PC around as Android does not give comparable web page interaction experience.
So I wanted to know if anyone knew of a way of disabling this behavior if so desired? Or if there is a browser out there where this does not happen?
