I am in some desperate need of help here before I ship my phone off to the SE Repair center. I tried updating my software version to the latest Gingerbread version through the PC Companion. During the update, the PC companion threw an error saying "Software update failed."
Haven't had time to read up on who else this may have happened to, but tried upgrading this morning via PC Companion and I recieved a fail message, asking to try again. Turned phone on - get the SE logo, then the bottom half of the screen looks like someone stepped on it - weird yellow graphic appears all scrambled! Will not boot up and my PC detects then un-detects phone continuously! Help! How do I fix this? Seems all the upgrade did was wipe my phone. Now it's but an empty piece of pretty plastic!!
Someone please help me!!

I have managed to brick my X10 mini pro by trying to instal CWM Recovery, and now am stuck at SE logo screen.
So far i've tried:
1. Seus - it says my x10 mini pro is up to date and no update available
2. PC Companion - i tried the repair option, but in the end it doesn't let me repair
3. FlashTool - tryed flashing original kernel, new kernel, 1.6android kernel.... and after flashing it keeps getting me to reboot it, and activate debugging mode, which i can't because i'm still stuck at SE logo screen
4. Omnius - payed for a 1 day licence. I can flash it, but still nothing happens. I can't flash read my SE, and can't find any repair option in it...
Is there anything that can whipe it clean, and put the original stuff back again? Or any other solution?
P.S. I can't turn of the screen, not even with home+backbutton+power, only if i get the battery out.
I never thought the repair option in PC Companion wouldn't work if i ever bricked my phone, but ... as I can see for myself it doesn't .
Thank you in advance... hope to get it running, even if it costs me some money
And once again seus ! But remeber seus is not pc companion
Hey there,
If you take out your battery for over a minute and then put it back in, it should stop trying to boot up.
Also, when u connect your phone to the computer while keeping the back button pressed, SEUS should be able to install stock software/firmware regardless of it's opinion that u already have the latest.
This thread is very detailed about unbricking your phone too --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040149 (helped me lots before as well)
and you might also wanna install the file added to this thread's openingspost --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030902
Goodluck with your phone
Hello,
I do not wish to annoy anyone. I seek some help. Before posting and mostly before doing anything with my phone I read all information I could find.
Unlocking bootloader (hardware and official way), rooting, the autoinstaller for CWM. The flashtool, the wotan server, SEUS.
Yesterday I've upgraded my firmware via PC Companion to .62. However this unrooted my phone and I wanted to go back to the old firmware so
I flashed it with WotanServer
After this my phone didnt start and after the SE logo a sign with excalmation mark and phone appeared.
Please, help me. Tell me what should be my next step. Can i fix it myself? Should i pay to someone in the local shop with neon advertisment to fix it?
Please.
Anton.
Download SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Software), and repair your phone with it.
I got same problem with WotanServer, SEUS solved it.
@tomassz82,
can you point me to a working link. All links that I have for SEUS redirect me to a sony support page?
I also forgot to mention that I have done a backup via CWM but I don't know how to restore it as I can't go into CWM anymore.
Ok. Fixed. Thank you tomassz82 for the hope
For future reference: SEUS is an outdated piece of software.
Sony Ericcson PC Companion is its successor.
Intially PC companion fails to recognize the device because it's not turned on completely (by completely i mean booted to the Android).
I restarted my computer. When I connect the phone and start PC Companion somehow, seemingly at random it still doesn't allow to update but it will recognize it once or twice and offer repair. Do it!
Wipe personal settings bla bla..
I could not manage to repair the phone with PCC, but SEUS worked like a charm.
@tomassz82
Which verions of SEUS are you running and where did you downloaded from?
Hi
To start with, I'm a complete noob so sorry about that.
I got an x10 mini pro last year for my birthday. I don't remember the android version it came with but somewhere during the beginning of this year, I updated my phone to android 2.3.4 running on firmware was .62
Anyway, the phone comes with pre installed bloatware and the new update stuff like the 3d camera (which I never use and don't want)
So, I set about the scary task of rooting my phone. I tried z4root and superoneclick. They didn't work so I used Flash Tool 0.7.1.0.
I did a lot of reading and spend a lot of time going through tutorials before starting.
First, I flashed .42 firmware on the phone.
The log said that it was flashed successfully. I tried rebooting the phone but it gets stuck. The screen shows "Sony Ericsson" (the text) and it dissolves into blue color. Then it loops again. So I guess it's bricked?
PC companion doesn't read the phone so I can't use that.
I tried using SE update but it gives me an error message (I'm on Windows 8 so it could be the Java)
Flash Tool doesn't recognize the phone anyway.
I can't enter flashmode or fastboot mode.
Half of me wants to throw this phone against the wall but the other half of me just wants to fix this.
HELP?????
Edit: OK, now it won't even go to the boot screen. Its completely dead. When I press the power button, it vibrates but the screen is black. No LED light either.
Well i had bricked my phone too.
It was sawing sony and sony again and again.
It wasnt recognized by seus or PCC either but flashtool could detect it at least.
And Just a question your phone stopped working out of nowhere? i mean not even the led would light?
You did something. didnt you?
edit:
After i research i found this

Let me remind you a thing.
You have to keep holding back and then connect your phone with the PC.
EDIT AGAIN:
try uninstalling every single app wich interacts with your mobile also uninstall all the drivers in your computer for your phone and then reinstall flashtool and install all the drivers (for me it worked once... i dont know why but th drivers where not working correctly) from flashtool
Hi all,
Today Sony Bridge for Mac noticed me about the availability of the update to .75 firmware. Good, I think.
The update procedure starts as usual.... but, when it was downloading the firmware, a popup saying "A problem in the update engine occurred. Please contact assistance." appeared . Actually I'm Italian and I don't know if the message sounds exactly like this in English, but, well, it makes sense.
From that moment on, my Xperia S is boot looping.... It displays the yellow icon with a phone and nothing else.
I'm very angry, the phone is not rooted and I'm also waiting for the replacement of it with a non-yellowish-display one.
Do you guys have some suggestion on how can I unblock the phone?
Thanks in advance!
Flashtool.

At Sony PC Companion, go to support center, click start at phone software update, then click repair my phone ... It is impossible to brick a Sony or Sony Ericsson phone , just use the PC Companion, it will repair for you ...
But for MAC, i think you may face a bit problem ... and I suggest to use Windows to do the update ...

Click to collapse
Try to update the OS either through sony's pc companion or Sony's update service. Both may tell you your software is up to date but there is an option to force update it anyway. This will bring your tablet back to stock.
If all of these fail, either your pc usb has a problem or your cable is bad or you need to reinstall Sony's usb drivers.
yeah the companion software is useless because it comes back saying "your device has modified software unable to update" sony update service fixed it thanks. nkw time to take this back and take the smug faces off the pc world sales staff lol.
