OK I've searched and nothing is working for me. I just got my music beta account and the app market is only giving me the option to open not update. I still can't get music app on my tab to allow me to see settings. Settings >accounts won't give me options to add music account either. What am I doing wrong? I've already tried deleting data and rebooting. Tab won't let me uninstall either...
What you need to do is download the app apk and then install it on the tab. Make sure you have ticked "unknown sources" under applications. Then use the browser on the tab to google "google music apk" or go to a link like this http://www.techofweb.com/google/downloading-music-app.html and download it.
Once it is installed you should be able to select your account and it will all work as it should.
I am in UK and had to use a proxy to get google music invite at all, and to confirm the invite, but it was worth the hassle. Once you have the invite you can upload and download from anywhere in the world.

Got my GT today and I am trying to sync it with my Google Music library. The Music app it ships with has no "Settings" menu and no mention of "Google Music Beta".
So I'm assuming that there is an update available. Thing is, I'm not in the US so I think this is stopping me from finding Google Music in the Market.
On my phone, market enabler - job done. How do I do the same on honeycomb? Or have I missing something.
Thanks
Try this:
Settings->Application->music->clear data
Reopen Google Music.
So long as you have the beta invite you should be good.
Just tried that and it's sill the same. On the top right menu button in Music all I have is "Hide Now playing Bar", "Shuffle All" and "Help" no settings option.
For the record I am running music version 3.0.
Should I not have to authorize Music with my Google account first? This is how I done it on my phone. /confused
What worked for me was the following:
1. Go to Settings | Privacy and uncheck "Automatic restore"
2. Uninstall Music (or uninstall updates if that is the only option given).
3. Reboot.
4. Reinstall Music from the Market.
hmm, check your google account in Accounts & Sync to see if there's a google music option.
Also, and this is a long shot, any chance you already have 8 devices hooked up to google music?
I'm on v3.0.1.339 not sure if that makes a difference though

You don't get the Music sync to appear in Accounts until you associate the Music app with your account. And you can't do that until you have the correct version of Music installed.
Just got an apk for Music 3.0.1.339 and that seems to have done the trick. Shame I can't just update it from the market using market enabler or similar.
I wanted to install Google Music but since I am in Portugal I could not download the app from the market. Therefore I read every single post from the following thread to solve the problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072655&page=27
After installing a google music .apk file (which did not sync with my google account) I found that the solution relied on using market enabler to fake my market ID and download google music app, which I did after uninstalling the previous google music app. The "options" menu in the google music apk did not appear as well.
From the thread I mentioned above (by PieP), I understood that I should also disable "Automatic Restore" from the settings/privacy menu. The problem arises here because this option is missing in my android and I am not able disable it.
I have a LG-P500 Android 2.2. I have been searching in the forums and I could not find a thread regarding this issue.
Does anyone know how to disable "Automatic Restore" of applications? Make it appear in my settings menu for me to disable it? Is there any other way for me to fix my Google Music app (make it sync with my google account)?
Thank you for your help!!!
In fact I don't know if the problem is due to the "Automatic Restore" thing, but everytime I install Google Music App it has not the "options" menu for me to associate my google account...
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? This is haunting me for 1 month =( Please help!!!
So I got my Galaxy S II yesterday and I installed Google Music Beta, I have tried for the past 24 hours with the app to get the settings to show up, but it won't let me access it. I press menu and all I get is Shuffle and Search. I'm unable to access any of the music that I have uploaded. Anyone else stock and having this issue? I have uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, deleted but I haven't wiped out the device because I can't see that resolving the issue.
Sorry I'm not sure how to help you but I will say its working just fine for me, I think I might have had a lag initially getting my google account to link to it but I'm not sure
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
Once Google Music is installed and you've opened it and selected your Google account to link to it, you have to go to Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync > select your Google account > checkmark Sync Music. Then wait for the sync to fininsh.
i have recently brought a NExus7 and being outside of the US i managed to create a google music acount with proxy's and what not but i was wondering if it was possible to sync my google play music data / account with the Samsung Galaxy SII
my S2 is running stock gingerbread ad i installed the google music APK and it loaded and runs ok but when i add my acount to the phone in the sync options there is not an option to sync google music play user data/ settings
im asking because its my partners phone and i want to add my account to there phine so they can access my music collection but nothing else
does anyone have any idea how to do this
as on my jellybean Nexus 7 when i go to acounts then sync there is a tick box for music; if i just untick everything on the S2 will music still work?
You can download Gmusic apk file and install to your phone (you won't see it in the Play Store outside of US) and the phone will sync the music if you have added the account to the phone via system settings.

thanks and will it only sync the Music if i turn all other syncs off? as i dont want contacts email apps or whata ever else synced to that device
When you launch Play music for a the first time the app asks which account to sync with and it does not interrupt other syncs for that account.. At least it hasnt for me.
So I have an odd issue with the Play Store. I have 2 Google accounts. The main one I use does not show my apps in the market, in fact it shows nothing. When I try to download any apps, I get error code 927. The only way I can download an app through that account is using the web page to push the file to my phone. I added my other Google account to my phone and can download any and every file with no problems (except my purchased apps on my main account). Any ideas on how to fix this? I have tried numerous ROMs and Android versions but I don't know what else to try.
I also have a Nexus 7 at home and it is having the same issue (927) on my main account as well.
EDIT: fixed it. Download Manager was being buggy. Force stop/clear cache/clear data in the app did the trick on both devices.
