[?] Battery Status Says Charging. - Motorola Droid X2

I'm running pre-rooted GB and I sometimes notice that the battery icon shows charging when I unplugged it. And what's weird is that as the battery drains, the icons shows its charging from a lower and lower level. So if I wait to see when its at its lowest, I know how much battery it has Haha
Any body know how to fix it?

I'd like to know if there's a fix to this as well. Mine actually drains the battery super fast when this happens.

[Q] Battery Issues

Last night I was have force close issues with a game so i did a soft reset(took battery out) and to my surprise it powered back on to 3% battery life. I lost over 60% battery life doing a soft rest.So i quiclky threw it on the charger and left it there all night. I woke up this morning afrer 8 hours of charging to only 28% battery life. I unplugged it and plugged it back in verified it was charging and took a shower and all that when I was finished and ready for work I looked at phone still charging and unplugged it and still only 28% battery life. Anybody else see this problem?
Try an actual reboot? Try to let the battery die and see what happens? Lastly did you try a hard reset?
Yes, I suspect the battery is not really down. Today I had the phone on charger, when I went to unplug I hit the button to wake up the phone and it said only 5% remaining and to plug it into the charger. I then unplugged and went into the battery widget and it said 99%, WTF. Once before it was fully charged, took it off the charger an in a minute or so it was dead, put it back on the charger and it took forever for it to get to 27% but as soon as it hit 29% it went straight to 100% instantly. I suspect the software.
There are a lot of people reporting similar battery issues. You might download battery monitor widget and put battery temps in the notifications bar because you might be having high battery temps, which can fry a battery. Some people have had batteries replaced but I'm not sure it isn't a general software issue with charging. Hopefully the upcoming update will take care if this.
Is there a good solution or quick way to see the actual % of the battery?
I always use battery life for accurate temp and % since the hero days

Are you running a custom rom? Might be a software issue when reporting the battery life. Could try a hard reset to verify.
How are you guys getting the battery to show in 1% increments?

There's various battery widgets on the market. I use batter monitor widget. It has a notificationbar display you can use without turning on the recording function.

Cool, thanks. I've been using battstatt pro and battery indicator pro and they just mimic the MoPho's displaying usage in 10's. I'll try the battery monitor widget.
Battery monitor widget was only showing in %10 increments for me.

Morning, I'm a Sprint Product Ambassador supporting the Launch of the Photon4G,
The app I'm using to monitor my battery in 1%'s is Battery Circle in the market by Adrian Ulrich, it is a taskbar widget so can be viewed in any screen.
You can also use Minimalistic Text to output an exact Battery % as well to place on the home screen or lock screen.

You have to turn on the 1% function in the settings.

Battery Jump

about an hour ago my battery was displaying around 80% and then after picking it up to send a text, it jumped up to 99 and after about 20 minutes it bumped down to 98 and then later to 97.
Tried a reboot and still popped up as 97. and did a battery pull and still 97. I looked at my battery info and im at 4.016Volts and its showing 97%. i cant remember if this sounds right or not. turned on GPS, bluetooth, and wifi and was able have it drop to 96
I wiped batt stat and shes sitting at 95 now. my hands are up in the air, maybe i found the magic battery
What rom are you on? If I'm not mistaken the photon battery shows battery drops in 10% increments not 1%. Try charging to full with phone plugged in, get battery calibration from market, and calibrate it see if that works.

runnin cybik's CM7 with Jokers CM7 kernel. i did do stress tests on the CPU yesterday evening and then a battery test, so maybe she got a little confused. ay 95% right now and battery info says 3.874Volts. im thinking 3.8 range should be more in the 70% range not 90.
Edit: now its at 94% but jumped up to 3.967Volts. very odd

I don't think the cm7 photon rom reads the battery stats correctly. I'd actually disable that if I were you. I'm referring to the percent mod in the battery icon if that's what's bothering you or in cm7 settings. To measure battery stats correctly try downloading "battery monitor widget" (free) from market and it will give you correct temps, volts etc. Then again my theory could be completely wrong about this whole 10% to 1% deal but worth a shot.

i have "battery Left" installed and its displaying the same as my CM7 system battery display. I downloaded the app you suggested and its displaying the same % and voltages. good looking app too.
I turned on wifi and streaming pandora to see what a drain would do to it and it seems to be dropping as normal. apparently a giant wireless charger must have rolled over the roof of my office and charged my phone for me lol. im not too worried about it, just never seen anything like this before. time will tell. im gonna let it drain till shutoff and see what happens after a full charger, will take a while to drain this sucker.
I have had the same confusing problems running the same rom and kernel.

Has anybody had luck resetting battery stats with CWM?
Its just an issue with battery stats. Download battery calibration and run it at 100% and see if it still happens

Battery indicator issues

Hello,
Im having battery indicator issues, no matter which kernel or ROM i use, it shows incorrect percentage.
Sometimes, when i disconnect it from charger, indicator changes from 100% to 1%, and slowly raises during day.
Has anyone else had this problem and maybe knows how to fix it?

[Q] Battery not staying fully charged?

Since I got my rezound I have only ran Cleanrom 4.x+(with leaked firmware) and have noticed that although my charge light stays green my actually battery percentage will make it to 100% and then drop several percents and then charge back up to 100% again. This process lasts the entire time it is being charged. I do use juice defender but it never caused this issue before on my incredible(maybe a new feature?). Thanks for your input.
I have a screen capture of the charge graph from an app called battery monitor widget, but I am under 8 posts and cannot link

add http to the link!
If I remember reading it right it is designed to do that. That's why the percents drop to like 96 or so shortly after disconnecting...after that it drains at a slower pace. It just the top of the scale that is a bit funky, I wish I could find the post that described the charging process...because the drop in percentages after a full charge had me perplexed.

I thought that might be the case. Does this happening while the battery is charging though, or only after it's unplugged?

It happens to most all phones nowadays its designed to go to full charge then stop charging and then charge again all while plugged in. It prevents over charging the battery which will damage it.

100% battery level when charging and seems to not!

Hi,
I'm having an strange issue while charging my Xperia Z2, in wich the green led notification is saying that battery is 100% charged, and the Android battery indicator says it's not!. A widget that I've installed from Play Store is saying has reached 4.2V.
Please see the images attached.
I don't know if Xperia Z2's battery has a 3.7V or 3.8V nominal, wich can explain the 4.2V or 4.3V of cutoff voltage.
Some of you guys are experiencing this issue?.
Thanks.
It shows green led from 90% and up. Stop looking for problems where there is none
Oh really?. I didn't know that. Maybe I've to read the user manual
