I use Motorola xoom MZ601, rom is tiamat 2.1 hammerhead.
Today, i see the video that vegacomb build no.6
that video's stock launcher has a gpu accelerated, so scrolling screen with live wp is smoother than xoom.
how can i make a xml with gpu accelerated to stock launcher with honeycomb??

If I'm not mistaken, Gingerbread has partial hardware acceleration in the UI. Now is this implemented into any Gingerbread ROM's out there right now? I'm running BAMF Sense 3.0 4.9 and I have no idea if hardware acceleration is implemented or not. Could someone elaborate more on the hardware acceleration on Gingerbread. I could totally be wrong.
Android phones have been using hardware acceleration for quite a while. They use OpenGL (just the embedded version) like most non-windows systems.

yes, Youtube HQ is working on Herolatte sense 2.2 ported by erasmux. But the camera zooming and little lags of interface, still not really unstable.
Did any camera fix for Herolatte can be make to become this rom more prefect?
And how do I do to make this rom become smoother like data2ext? or app2sd?
(sorry for the bad english)
The major thing I look at with roms is the smoothness of the rosie scroll. A lot of roms are perfect but I can't stand the laggy/slow scrolling. I noticed that even if there's a smooth/ultra smooth rosie option on some of these roms, it is still slow, but on other roms like Prime XL, it's smooth as butter ( I don't use prime because of all the random reboots). Is this because some ROMs don't have GPU rendering? If that's the case, how would I go about enabling it or forcing it?
Find a Rom that has it check the build.prop copy it (it should be labeled) past it into your build.prop if you can't do it I can do it for ya
Sent from my mom's Nexus S 4G..... It's True lol
Nevermind, I found the build.prop. debug.sf.hw = 1 enables GPU rendering right? Is that it?
I'd be willing to bet that a tweak such as forced gpu rendering would maybe make the scrolling smoother, but I can't imagine it being more stable or safe than without.
Hi All,
I'm still curious, with the upcoming kernel 3.0 and freshly ported Ducati binary from KF, are we getting everything needed for the HW accelerated UI?
I have seen posts about video being accelerated, but not the UI. I don't know the architecture / background of HWA, so pardon me if this is clear and accelerated video in ICS means also accelerated UI.
Was the ducati binary the last big piece of a puzzle required to get the UI accelerated and now "only" fixes/adjustments/optimisations are needed?
Thanks for clarification
Are there any tweaks to make games run smoother on ICS? The only reason I haven't switched to custom roms is for the walkman player and the fact that many roms have multitouch problems (AOKP, etc) For some reason v6supercharger slows my apps down
P.S. Should I check Force GPU rendering in developer options?
